  1. I understand stats and 4th down conversions. You can't apply average stats for success when you are playing a backup QB making his first start of the season in the pressure of a playoff game in tough weather conditions. In other words, the variables for success were very different than the norm. Throw out the 50% success rate in this situation. Every point mattered
  2. Perhaps the dumbest penalty I have seen for awhile....would have been off the field on 4th and 12 and due to his mouth, first down. Then LA scores a passing TD on the same guy next play. What's worse...the official let him yap at the Rams sideline for awhile. You could tell the official didn't want to throw the flag. But the moron just wouldn't shut up. What a dork. Seattle did cover for him and pulled out a close one, but they were fortunate this guy didn't cost them the Super Bowl.
  3. I don't understand these coaches going on 4th down, passing on the 3 points. In this case, you have a back up QB that hasn't played the entire season. Forecast is clear with bad snow and winds coming. And you pass on the 3 and then lose by 3. I realize FG's were not automatic, but would have been a chip shot before the weather worsened. Head scratcher.
  4. Way for more funds….I think this for all sports. Thoughts?
  5. Charlie is a must!!!
  6. I think that is a very real possibility. The Irish will definitely have a chip on their shoulder. I don’t see Freeman stepping off the gas when they are beating on a team either.
  7. Big!! Love keeping as much of the OL intact as the can!! Go Hoosiers!
  8. I don’t disagree about Bama being deserving, BUT they did have more ranked wins than ND. The Irish were 1-2 playing ranked teams and their SOS was much worse than Bama. Blowing out weaker teams only builds a resume so much. ND has a softer schedule again next season. They have very little margin for error. They have to win the big games, and that will remove all doubt, especially not playing a conference championship game.
  9. Not a bad year…crazy to think more hardware in one year brought home to Btown than over 120 years of playing college football. Last bowl victory…1991 Copper Bowl.
  10. Very interesting take. Did Indiana “moneyball” college football? Will schools in the future put a higher value on past production over future potential? A % of both, but does it tip toward one over the other? Give this a listen and offer your thoughts. (If inclined)
  11. Pretty cool. IU was a major player in 4 of the top 7 college football games viewed on TV this season. Of course, those are all big games regardless of teams. Still great that a chunk of the nation watched the Hoosiers this season.
  12. Wow…Irish better run the table…..
  13. Interesting point about the definition of rivalry…..
  14. you never know....I still have to wonder...does he want anything to do with the comparison to big brother?
  15. I did not even notice that until you mentioned it....wow. I'm pretty sure the overall series is pretty even, but surprised no game in 2026. Hope they get that one back on the books!
  16. tad too short, tad too slow, tad too fat....story of my life!!! If only I could have nailed the production piece!!
  17. No disagreement there.....legend
  18. I hear what you are saying...I have never been one to claim greatest as I believe eras are so different and difficult to compare. But making comments to add qualifiers such as the NIL era is a joke. All college sports are in the NIL era and have been for multiple years now. The higher generating sports benefit more from NIL and everyone is on the same baseline. If a given school does not decide to invest, that's their call. But its not a negative that others do. Some schools like Purdue have chosen not to invest as much in football, but they sure have in basketball. My point is a qualifier is not necessary. I contend money has been put in players hands by a number of schools for years under the table. If anything, everyone is now under the same opportunity and its up to them if they wish to play in this space. But IU is hardly the top football school for NIL payments and doing so is open to everyone. (can't say that was the case in the past) The age thing is really a joke....again, they are complying with rules and other schools can do the same if they wish. As I mentioned, go look up Miami's avg roster age....no different than IU. But for some reason, many wish to make age references about IU. IU has been a lackluster football program for a century. I've still followed them and attended so many of their games over the years regardless. They finally hire the right coach and have back to back dream seasons, and people still want to pick holes. Soft schedule, (completely untrue) older than everyone else, bought their wins, and another favorite....they cheat by getting opposing team's gameplans in the cloud. I understand Purdue fans are not going to give much credit...and that's fine. But stop the trying to blow out IU's candle....instead help Purdue's candle to burn brighter.
  19. First, I NEVER said they were the greatest team in CFB history. I challenge you to find that comment. I did say they had a great season, and certainly historical for the 100+ year history of IU football. Statistically, its impossible to argue that IU didn't have a great season. But at no time, did I say the GREATEST. Bottom line, you put no such qualified on Ohio State last year and Michigan the year prior to last. The rules have changed for everyone and IU is hardly the highest spender in CFB. Sorry your Boilers won't spend more on football, but they dang sure spend some cash on their bball team. If Purdue were to win in hoops, no qualifier from me, as its the same baseline for everyone. IU roster of 23 years olds...there you go again. Sorry their kids stay in school...as if that's a bad thing. Was it 23 year olds vs. "kids" the year prior when IU also took Purdue to the woodshed? I believe that game was a shutout if I remember correctly. When a roster has zero 5 stars, and only seven 4 stars, its it really that shocking they stay in school? BTW, the Miami Hurricane roster this year averaged approximately 23 yeard of age....yet didn't hear the media or you for that matter pointing it out. Your bias drives you to attempt to stick it to IU with your little barbs. Its actually funny because its so dang obvious. Its easy Coach...try it...."Congratulations IU on a tremendous football season and for winning the Natty and keeping it in the Big 10". After all, Purdue reaps some of the cash generated during their run for doing absolutely nothing.....
  20. it is a treat to listen to Jim each year sing Back Home in Indiana at the Indy 500. My seats are pretty close to the location he sings. When he finishes, its usually the 2nd flyover. Sends chills up the body!!
  21. Well, this all is a moot point. Mendoza declared for the draft this morning.
  22. 36% increase over last year’s OSU vs ND championship game
