I consider you to be one of the most astute, respected and admired members of the GID Forum.

Im surprised by your response here.

Lets look at the facts :

    Carmel :

Hebert is entering his 8th season.  Carmel coaches last on average  approx 7 seasons based on history  A bit like Notre Dame.  Super high profile, high expectations and demands, and burns coaches out eventually.

    Charles Waverly (1950-1950) 1-3-1
    Charles Wave Myers (1951-1952) 12-3-2
    unknown (1953-1955) 6-9-3
    Dick Lamb (1954-1972) 22-26
    Ron Hallam (1956-1956) 2-7
    Dick Nyers (1958-1967) 69-24-5
    Eric Clark (1968-1969) 15-5
    Dick Dullaghan (1973-1979) 64-12
    Jim Belden (1980-1996) 174-34
    Keith Fiedler (1997-2004) 64-34
    Mo Moriarity (2005-2009) 58-14

    Kvin Wright (2010-2014)

    54-10

    John Hebert (2015-2021) 68-23
    OVERALL 609-204-11

    Ben Davis

Coach Simmons has the poorest winning % in Ben Davis modern football history, and i 1 game over .500 after 4 seasons.  I dont believe the BD admin is ready to accept this as the new standard.

    Coach Record
    Bert Red Haviland (1937-1942) 15-29-4
    Leo Lentz (1943-1943) 0-7
    Chuck Stuckey (1944-1944) 1-7
    Ralph Crock (1945-1948) 7-23-2
    Lou Parnell (1949-1955) 31-26-1

Have to agree with DT on this one. Hell, even Mr. Unknown didn't last more than 3 years! I swear to god he didn't!

Yeah but how much NIL money is he making?

"He has been rated as the 9th best linebacker in the country by ON3 in the NIL (Name, Image, Likeness) program. and estimated to have a $142,000 valuation this season"

Eh, Butler was better off as the "little guy" who had a chance.  Now they are a Big East bottom feeder and have no chance as their recruiting footprint will never be on par with the Big East/northeast powers.

They went from everyone's favorite Cinderella to an also ran.

    Just my opinion.

Since this post Collier surprised everyone with a home run hire in Thad Matta.  All but one of the current roster stayed, and he was able to recruit to fill the holes to compete next year.  He also was able to hire 3 great assistants and support staff. He didn't do that on the current budget.  Someone up the ladder finally saw the light. Butler increased it's BBL budget by millions.  They will be an upper half team in the Big East consistently with Matta.

    Boys tennis:

    Carmel - 5

    NC - 0

(Side note:  The MIC Championship track and field trophies still have both the Carmel and CG logos on them despite the fact that neither school was invited to compete in last night’s MIC track and field championship meet.)

You just can’t make some of this stuff up folks.  It writes itself.

For the record North Central has more state tennis titles (boys) than any other school with 20, the last being in 2016.

So they are 1A and will move up do to the SF? so instead of going to 2A they are leap frogging to 3A? Interesting begs the question of what a person put in the tweet reply that they attempting to avoid a particular 2A potential sectional opponent? So they see an easy path in Southern 3A rather than 2A?

Makes sense if I were a powerhouse 1A Football team that was moving up to 2A in the northern half of the state I might want to play in a 3A north (If Chatard gets sent South) rather than the 2A North and run into (Luers, Andrean, Eastbrook, and Eastside) .

    interesting twist

Yeah, a defending state champion wanting to move up in class to avoid potential opponents. Right.

  6. With the implementation of the transfer portal AND NIL, the definition of "Blue Blood" will be altered drastically.  Student athletes basically getting a free pass to transfer from one program to another without sitting out.... and the same student athletes signing NIL deals that sometimes rival pro contracts.  College programs will soon offer, whether it's public or not, a deal that athletes looking to transfer will be able to choose which school solely based on the worth of the NIL deal. Which means all those payments made by school supporters that used to be under the table, can very easily by made legal within the parameters of NIL.

  7. Yeah you shouldn't be surprised by Avon being off the list.  Never won a semistate, never reached the top.

If you expand to 30 years they were a small school power under Jim Kaiser in the 80's, consistently winning 8-10 games a year and dominating the Mid-State. But fell short in 2 semistate contests.  Years they were in the conversation about being a state contender:  2004, 2005 (although Warren was a hill no one could overcome), 2010 (lost regional to LC and Tre Roberson), 2015 (probably their best shot.... beat Cathedral in 2 ot's, lost in semi to Center Grove in 2 ot's), 2019 (ranked #1 for a majority of the season and undefeated until game one of sectionals).

Harrell has a nice compilation of team records over so many years.  Pioneer leads the state for the past 10,15,20 years. No better definition of a blue blood than that.

In my opinion your second option is the best way to sectional the north 6A. There will have to be a divide somewhere. Bringing Jeff down 65 to Zionsville makes the most sense for them. Connect them with Westfield and Carmel. Send Noblesville, HSE, Fishers (further East in Hamilton county) up 69 with Homestead as they are the most south of the Fort Wayne schools.

Sending Noblesville, HSE and Fishers up 69?  So Homestead will be hosting all 3?  There is a chance Homestead would not even have a home game.  A very good chance.  So it's not 3 teams going north, it's Homestead going south.

Spoken like a true union man.....

Guess an average salary of $4.17MM a year isn't enough playing a kid's game.  Clearly the greed is one-sided.  🙄

Meanwhile, wonder how that compares to the average salary of a school teacher, policeman, firefighter and oh yeah...a soldier?

What's going on in the world and the impact on people....ridiculous timing to squabbling over $$ with this demographic.  Poor mistreated baseball players....my heart aches for them.

What's the cost today of a family of 4 to attend a MLB game?  Tickets, parking, hot dog, popcorn and a beer.  Yeah, lets increase that even more.  But MLB will claim they love their fans.  What a joke.

We will agree to disagree that the greed only comes from one direction.

Hopefully, one day America will wake up and start deprioritizing entertainment and start demanding their money goes toward the people that serve them and truly makes a difference.

Never said the players weren't greedy. But as you've already been shown, very few you would label greedy.  We know what every baseball player, from rookie league to the majors, makes in salary.  We don't know as the laws currently stand how much the owners make. And they hide this purposely. If it ever got out, the players, all of them, would be making more. Plus the owners for the most part have managed to hide much of the profits from uncle sam.  And no, I'm not pro-union.

This could ultimately be the final death nail for professional baseball in this country.  It was already dying a slow death and this will only speed up that process.

Owners don't want to give up that cash cow.  Even though their greed is at the heart of this, they will eventually meet the players on the owners side of the middle.  And, after a season of anger from the fans, all will be forgotten.
