  1. No one is saying it was a lack of competition. They are saying Southridge wanted to keep the relationship, The Miners, for whatever reason, didn't. On to North Daviess and another rout. The Miners should drop them too.
  2. I hate that. I thought having Southridge on the schedule exposed the Miner weaknesses Game 1, giving them the rest of the season to work on them. In the past, Eastern was the first game, and the Miners got nothing out of those 50+ point blowouts. I'm not concerned with any team that used to be Rockville. This wasn't a good trade, maybe if they had been switched for NV, North Daviess, or Eastern. Why don't you like the Boonville matchup? We've already discussed the series at 1-1. They are better competition than the 3 teams I just mentioned. An hour and 45 minute drive is common for other schools in the state.
  3. Let me clarify, a long trip is beneficial when the game isn't a blowout. The series is 1-1 that past 2 years. That's beneficial in my book.
  4. The Miners need to drop NV. Too long of a drive, either way, for a blowout. Did everyone come out healthy? If so, I can't see it being a game. The transitive property doesn't necessarily work in football, but I think it does here. Linton > Southridge, Southridge > Booneville. So Linton > Booneville.
  5. Most of NA's playmakers are seniors. They have some speed. Their line didn't open up huge holes, but just enough sunlight for the backs to slip through. They did a sufficient enough job against BNL's pass rush. The WR's can get behind you, then when you give them a cushion, they could move the chains with short passes. If the QB was more accurate, they could've scored more. BNL had 4 trips in the red zone that resulted in a stuff at the half yd line, field goal, TD w/ missed PAT, and TD with successful PAT. The Stars also had 1 long passing TD called back due to a holding penalty. NA outplayed BNL, but the Stars didn't do themselves any favors with a lot of avoidable penalties.
  6. As far as Weber being the right fit, I don't know. When he started at Linton, as an assistant, he entered a program/community that was rabid about football. The youth league in that small community fielded 3-4 teams in each age group. When he arrived at BNL, the youth league in that 5a community struggled to field 3-4 teams in each age group. He took the Linton program, that already had the buy-in, support, and desire, and he polished it. BNL, maybe, needed someone to focus on fostering that buy-in, support, and desire. Up to this point, Coach Barker seems to be that guy. Agree 100%
  7. My opinion based on what I observed.....I don't think he held back the kids or the program, he did what he thought was best with his personnel. Along with that, he fought for years to get the middle school team consolidated. The sophomores and juniors right now were 7th and 8th graders when that finally happened. There are a lot of sophomores and juniors starting. I'm not taking anything away from the seniors, they are studs. I wish they had the benefit of playing on one middle school team as opposed to 3. But that's just one of the ways Weber got the program going in the right direction, rather than holding it back.
  8. Keep the recaps coming Big D. Beneficial for those of us who can't watch the games, or only get to watch bits and pieces of the live stream.
  9. Touche BNL's 3-3-5 was adopted due to personnel (I assume), but it's built for the spread. We'll see if they come out and execute. Last week they had all 11 guys flying to the ball, something I haven't seen in the 7 years I've been following the Stars.
  10. Bueller.......Bueller....... I know it's not as entertaining as the back and forth with the FC guy, but it's a legitimate question.
  11. I haven't seen New Albany play for a couple of years. What offense do they run?
  12. Barring any injuries or contact tracing, Linton doesn't see a game until sectionals. North Knox might make a game of if for a half, maybe Boonville, but they will turn into routs after halftime.
  13. If they play like they played last night, and continue to improve……Yes, they’ll win a few more games in the HHC. They’re by no means a finished product. Lots of room for improvement.
