But the IFCA Poll is voted on by coaches, correct??  You'd think that coaches would pay attention.  I know in the end polls don't mean anything except for fans to have something to argue over, but it was odd to me.

Coaches are coaches, teachers, fathers, husbands first. A lot of demands on them.

Could very well be. But I don't think any head coach goes into a program just to coach for 3 months. Knox won't be able to have their way with Glenn in the air like they did with the teams they've faced. Look for Glenn to clamp the passing game and force Knox to be one dimensional. Glenn will have to get things going with their ground game early.

Looking at overall rankings most sites have Knox ranked between 100-110th in the state, Glenn is ranked between 185-195.  Knox's ranking is similar to Boone Groove's which beat Glenn my 3 scores in the first game.  I think Glenn is better now than week 1, but I don't know if they improved enough to top Knox.  My guess is that Knox wins 35-21.

Curious why Evansville Mater Dei would drop four spots in the poll playing 4A #4 to a one score game???  But other ranked teams that lost last week maintained their position, or fell one line.  Just wonder what the reasoning was???

My guess is people don't pay attention.

  4. Last year Bremen lost and athletic trainer on a Monday, the loss shook the team, and they played emotionally flat the next 2 weeks. I could not imagine having a teammate die and then step up and play later in the week.

Marian is having a special year, Riley is having a good year and just had an awful week. Marian probably wins this straight up against Riley 8 out of 10 times under normal circumstances, tonight tough had to be emotionally rough.

That's a generous 14 your giving the Cats on Marian. I personally think the Washington game will be closer then most think. Wash only put 22 on a JV Hammond team. I think Clays win last week gives the kids a much need confidence boost and this game becomes a grudge match. What do I know though lol. No love for Glenn after the thrashing they gave y'all last week? Lol

Nothing against the Falcolns, just think that this Jimtown team is senior dominated. The win against Bremen this year isn't much, arguably one of worst teams Bremen will field in 60 years.  Low numbers caught up with the Lions this year.

This is week 3 in Michigan

Benton Harbor had a great run a few years back under Elliot Uzelak, but he stepped aside when he confronted admin about the schools extremely low graduation rates, lack of certified teachers, class sizes, etc.

They usually have plenty of athletes, until Coach U they have always had a hard time overcoming their own disorganization which is compounded by some of the very tough socio-economic circumstances of their students.

School was recently almost shut down, lot of local pride seems to have saved it for the time being.

    Coach U's parting thoughts

    Shameful.

  8. I think the same can be said about the area as a whole. The Michiana schools in the past would win their share of titles. This region as a whole is in a drought. Some of that is because Indy is schools are better, but Fort Wayne still wins some titles, the NW Region has had success more re recently, same with Lafayette. Michiana schools aren't caring their weight for the northern portion.
