  1. In what world does North Side dropping down to 4A change anything for 5A North? Losing Merrillville and Valpo hurts for sure, but there is no loss in good teams losing North Side. I'm willing to bet they won't get out of their sectional in 4A. Without Merrillville and Valpo, I would say there's only 4 real contenders for 4A North now (Warsaw, Lafayette Jeff, Snider, and Concord). So in that case, yes it would be more watered down.
  2. North Sides coach is in the building as an administrative assistant, an hourly role. I believe South Side's HC is in a similar role there, not for certain on that one though. Northrop's is in the tech department for FWCS, so not technically in the school. FWCS used to have the same rule, that administrators can't be head coaches, but Northrops Head Girl's Basketball Coach is an assistant principal in the school, so not sure where that rule stands now.
  3. Boy was I wrong (lol), and deserve all the kickback and dragging I get. Was in Bloomington all weekend for the Bucket, only caught the first half. QB really shut me up and should be near the top of Mr. Football candidates next year. I really didn't foresee Luers' DL getting out-physicaled like that, but again, extremely wrong. Congrats to HH team, coaches, and community! It's a great feeling, don't take it for granted!
  4. My point exactly. These Southern Indiana fans don't quite grasp the level of talent and athleticism that goes on in Northeast Indiana, the SAC in particular. A slight win or loss to a number of teams in the SAC stacks up much better than big wins vs. county schools south of Bloomington. Just a fact. These HH fans will soon understand what I am talking about.
  5. Leo, North Side, and Homestead handle HH pretty easily from what I've seen on rewatch of HH. The South Side and Dwenger games were blunders, and Luers personnel on the field were going through some severe family issues, where anybody on here would backtrack their criticism if they knew or understood what was going on.
  6. I'll be surprised if Heritage Hills keeps this within 3 scores. Luers has played far and away better competition in the regular season. They will have way too much speed and their Dline will out-physical Heritage Hills Oline. Luers 31-6.
  7. Conley is not on the team. I heard from a reliable source he quit after the 2nd day of contact practice before school started. I am not sure who justasportsfan is talking about with "talent on the sideline". Trust me, the talent is on the field. There was no transfer QB. Vance is the guys, for better or worse.
  8. The Panthers will have 4 guys on defense that are good enough to keep them in every game they play. The huge question will be their offense, as it only returns 3 guys with any Varsity experience (2 OL and 1 WR), and if it can compete against 6A talent. I could see them using some of their defensive talent on offense more than years past.
  9. Here is my list of the top 10 Snider teams. Want to point out this is my opinion on BEST not MOST TALENTED. Not accounting these last two years. 1. 1992 2. 1986 3. 2004 4. 1997 5. 1981 6. 2015 7. 2012 8. 2002 9. 2016 10. 2014
  10. I am not too concerned with Snider's secondary. Mishawaka has had guys running wide open all year due to everyone committing to the run. Snider has faired well against passing offenses all year, but I don't think that is what Merrillville wants to do. I have a feeling we will see a similar style to how Valpo approached the Panthers last year.
  11. Looking for my Region posters, once again, for some more info on what to expect from this year's Merrillville team. Just by looking at the stats, the Pirates and Panthers seem to be quite literally the same style of team. Should be a great, physical game full of speed all over the field. Believe it will be a 7:30 EST kick-off. Looking forward to the matchup!
  12. You honestly believe that they would underestimate Mishawaka after how the first half played out last year?
  13. Is the fullback this year as good as #44 last year? That guy seemed like he had grown man strength. Think it would have ended differently last year if he doesn't get hurt.
  14. Surprised I haven't seen this topic yet. Should be another classic after last year's matchup. Was wondering if anyone from the Mishawaka area or conference could give the NEI guys some insight on this year's Cavemen team. Seems like they have more ability to throw the ball, although I know that is not what they want to do. How many returning starters from last year do the Cavemen have? My prediction: Panthers by 3
