You did say that, yes. Seems like you said a lot of stuff though. I wouldn't even know where to begin to look. -

Good stuff. One of the other coaches I mentioned, Russ Isaacs, implemented "year round training" back in the early 90's. His teams competed with all comers for about two decades and I believe it had a lot to do with the speed training you referenced. Why all coaches aren't doing it is beyond me. I imagine a lot of coaches aren't going to "push" track onto their players with the same intensity that a Moore or Isaacs might. I guess a kid needs to ask himself, "if I'm going to be the best I can be, would it be beneficial for me to run track to improve my speed?" It really comes down to "buy in" of the program and the coach who runs it. Kudos to guys like Moore, Isaacs, and anyone else who gets these kind of results from their players. -

The Isaacs/Dinan/Tippman combination was a lethal force in the late 90's & 00's. I regularly dubbed them as the best program in the state during those times. No different than college, good coaches move on. And Dinan is doing a great job at Carroll where he's won 8 of his last 9 against Snider. The Chargers are officially the benchmark of NE Indiana. -

That doesn't tell me anything. Presuming it has to do with Carroll beating Elkhart. On paper this is about a 17-21 point game. We'll see. You must think Elkhart is really bad since you think Carroll isn't that good this year. -

C'mon @Rodney, feeling a little alone here with Arsenal Tech. I'm starting to get hyped up for this game. -

Agree and agree. The million dollar question to me is how to get Crown Point, Penn, Carroll, Homestead, and Elkhart over the hump. How does Dwenger get back to being on the same level as Cathedral like they were back in the 80's and 90's. Dwenger brings kids up through their pipeline, very little use of vouchers over there on Washington Ctr. Rd. So catching up with Cathedral is probably unrealistic. Is a super conference in Northern Indiana the way to go? Or is it more about figuring out how the Curt Cignettis, Kyle Ralf's, Russ Isaacs, Kevin, Wright's, Chris Geesman's, Dick Dullaghan's, and Eric Moore's of the world do things. I think it's hard for a lot of coaches to keep up with Moore. From what I here, he lives and breathes high school football. Hard to do for a lot of coaches, mostly of whom have families at home. So the question becomes: Is it more about competition or more about coaching. -
Funny how other programs view Notre Dame as a temporary stop before going onto another program. Just because Kelly did it I suppose.

1. Wow, that really got to some of you guys. Sorry. 2. Again, overthinking. Insert any low tier 6A teams in place of Jeffersonville. 3. We agree. Like I said. When they play Indy, the expectation is to win, not come away with a 7 point loss. I love where Dinan has his program. 4. What did my "big boy" comment have to do with your affiliation or lack there of? I guess I did say "your." One of Indy's big boys is what I meant. I'm neither here nor there on where you reside. You just seem like a lean toward the HCC is all. -

Carroll always seems to have a lapse here and there, but then again, most teams do. Elkhart's program isn't anywhere near Carroll at the moment. A loss would be a VERY bad look for the gem of the northeast. That's on the coach. I'm an advocate for big enrollments and talented players, but that's only 50% of it. The other 50% is massive, especially when rumbling with the big boys. -

That's not a moral victory. When Fort Wayne schools like Carroll and Snider play teams from Indianapolis, the expectation is to win, period. I've never believed in moral victories, not for programs like those. Now, what if a program like Jeffersonville comes to Indy and plays one of your big boys to a tight game? In that case, a moral victory is okay. It gives Jeffersonville the confidence that next time they play an Indy team, they might come out on top. Confidence is important. See Curt Cignetti. When your team is confident, they play better. Team A outhitting B, even though they lost, isn't a moral victory. It's just an observation that most of the loud pops came from one side of the field. -

My "what if's" are typically fact. But I wouldn't mind if you elaborate more on "moral victories." -

Something seems off with Elkhart. Not as good this year as they were last. That doesn't bode well for them against Carroll. -

You also have to look at "what have you done for me lately." Those were the first two games of the season. Everyone knows that ND lost to Miami because the Irish were "slowly" breaking CJ Carr into starting role. They play again, ND wins by 10. A&M came down to a botched extra point. Defense is better now. New defensive coordinator. No matter how you slice it, EVERYONE seems to think Notre Dame looks like a pretty good football team. -

Thanks for the info, I just never heard of it myself. It's been a few years since I graduated though. -
Hmmmm, haven't seen that. Interesting.

Notre Dame passes the eye test, which seems to be pretty important to the committee. I don't see them getting left out for losing to Miami and A&M by a total of 4 points. There's not a person who follows college football who wouldn't want to see a rematch between Notre Dame and the #3 team in the country. That pretty much says it all. I also think one has to look at the Razorback's schedule and look at how they against ND versus their SEC counter parts. It's the eye test, that's it. Notre Dame just looks good. -

Not sure I believe you. I know you're a fan of the HCC. It would be a big win for Homestead and Coach Zolman. He's a great guy to lead your program, he just can't seem to get Homestead over the hump. Not gonna hold my breath, I've got HSE by multiple scores. -

Wellness though? Was that position created for Wright. It's Carmel, I guess maybe it's always been a thing. -

@Komets2727 is alone in his opinion of Notre Dame, not that he's not entitled to it. Most of the media, podcasts, radio, otherwise, seem to be in agreement that they are Top 12. We all know they are, now it's just a matter of getting in. The SEC will whine, kick, stomp, and cry. But at the end of the day, the Irish HAMMERED a team that the rest of the SEC is struggling against. -

Westfield sounds legit. Center Grove and Brownsburg sound like a title gifted to these guys without actually being present in the class. Not saying that's the case, just an observation by any reasonable person. Wellness? Really? That's a thing? Lol. Okay. Shakes my head walking away laughing, shrugging my shoulders.
