Much respect for the Giants, but they really haven't been competitive in any of those games. This just isn't their year. They lost to the best three teams on their schedule by an average of 33 points. Not much different than Homestead losing to Westfield and Carroll by 35 points. I'll give them the edge over the Spartans, but not by much (3-7 points). Sorry, it's hard to take anyone seriously by mention of them in the Top 25 with their resume. Disclosure: I reference Sagarin for entertainment purposes only. It's fun to look at, and they are probably mostly right, but there's also MANY flaws. Sagarin also has Merrillville over Hamilton Southeastern and Warren Central, there's not one person from Indianapolis who'll point to that as accurate. Brownstown Central over Dwenger and East Noble. See the flaws? Regardless, I don't care if BD is better than Homestead or not, neither team is even close to being a factor in the tournament. I was just using Homestead as a point of reference for my claim that BD isn't a Top 25 team.

Agree. If they don't make it, as much as I like Freeman, this would be a massive fail considering the amount of talent this team has. Let's be real here. They have national champion talent on this team. They never should have lost to Miami. I think the offense was mismanaged by not allowing CJ to throw the ball down field. Then of course the bobbled snap that resulted in a loss against A&M.

It tells me that Penn still has one of the best football cultures in the state.

I also see where Penn is rated #1 in the nation according to Max Preps. Didn't know this sport had that much depth. Pretty awesome though.

Fourth best odds of winning the championship, trailing only Ohio State, Alabama, and Indiana. Hard to fathom some calling this a bubble team.

Good grief. But...............that's pretty awesome. If I lived in a community like that, my feelings wouldn't be hurt if my taxes went up a bit to fund a stadium like that. Something tells me it had a lot of community support. Some areas of the country take football pretty seriously.

I like it. But there's only one way to do it. Sagarin. Or you have a committee of seven members representing each area of the state. NE, NW, SE, SW, EC, WC, and Central. The committee is probably the best way to do it. Sagarin would just promote a bunch of running up the score blowouts.

Is there a better way of determining home team? I haven't really put much thought into it. I know it starts with who has and has not had a home game yet. Then it's "who's the top" or "who's at the bottom" of the bracket. All things equal, I think they should look at the year prior. For instance if Snider and Elkhart are the hosts for Round 1 and both win, then Snider would be the host for Round 2 since they had to travel to Elkhart the year prior.

Congratulations to Penn on winning the flag football state title. It appears the blue bloods are back at it in the north with the semi-state game featuring Penn and Snider. Good stuff. Ring one up for the North.

It seems widely accepted the SEC played by their own set of rules, in turn, making them most dominant football conference and a stronghold on national titles. Henceforth (Rodney's favorite word), to win, you almost HAVE to cheat. I really don't care if Harbaugh cheated or not, because quite frankly, at least half the coaches in the NCAA probably cheat. Money, ego, sports, family, God..........normally in that order. So Harbaugh is no different than 50% of head coaches nationally. You, @temptation, think I'm here to beat you up on your Wolverines, when really I just genuinely want to know why the NCAA picked on Notre Dame by vacating 21 victories. Thought maybe someone would have an answer. I'll do my own research. What Notre Dame did seems petty compared to what other universities are doing, or in the players cases, not doing. My posts aren't an attack on Michigan, it's more about the attack on Notre Dame. That's not how I picture @temptation, lol.

I honestly don't care enough about the Michigan situation to follow it. So there was evidence of the Notre Dame players cheating, but no evidence of Michigan's alleged cheating? We can use a different example if you want. I just think vacating ND victories is total nonsense considering all the BS that goes on at other institutions. But hey, whatever it takes to put Ohio State ahead of Notre Dame in the all-time winningest program standings.

They've played 5 times over 5 decades. It wouldn't matter if Valpo was 4-1, Snider's still the better program. And we both know that if they played every year, Snider would have the winning record. But again, I really don't care. I have too much respect for the Region to continue this nonsense back and forth. Good luck to Merrillville and Crown Point. I'll be rooting for them both. I'm out.
