  1. My Week 9 picks: Terre Haute South @ Columbus North - I really struggled with picking this game. The Braves have won four of their last five games and have been more consistent than the Bull Dogs over that period. The Bull Dogs almost made a big comeback against Bloom. North in Bloomington, which gave me some pause in picking this game. Both teams lost to Bloom. South by similar margins and they beat both THN and Southport by almost identical scores/margins, so comparing games did nothing for me. The Bull Dogs are hosting with the Braves having to make a long trip to Columbus, but I'm going with THS as the more consistent team to win this game by a hair on what is probably Senior Night for the Bull Dogs. Bloomington North @ Southport - The Cougars will win the CI championship outright with a win over the Cardinals, and finish the regular season unbeaten. The Cougars almost choked away a 21-point halftime lead against Col. North, but that won't happen here, and they will win by at least 3 TDs. Seymour @ Bloomington South - South will be facing their second straight pass happy team, although Seymour probably runs the ball a little more than what Brebeuf does, which has an offensive game plan of pass, pass, and pass again. South's starting defense gave up just one TD in the game to Brebeuf with the three other TDs by Brebeuf being on a pick-6, kickoff return for a TD, and a game ending TD against the Panthers' backups. South has a better pass/rush balance than Seymour and they had almost 300 yards rushing against Brebeuf. South will probably have the fastest/quickest defense that the Owls have seen this season. I see South winning this game at home by at least 3 TDs on what will be their Senior Night. Terre Haute North @ Brebeuf Jesuit - No need to spend any time on this game and with Brebeuf's passing game being what it is, this game could get out of hand for the Patriots quickly. Brebeuf can probably name the score. Games for Week 9: Terre Haute South @ Columbus North Bloomington North @ Southport Seymour @ Bloomington South Terre Haute North @ Brebeuf Jesuit
  2. Here are the drawings/brackets for the CI teams: SECTIONAL 7 [BRACKET] Perry Meridian [2-6] at Warren Central [3-5] Southport [1-7] at Indianapolis Tech [0-8] SECTIONAL 8 [BRACKET] Franklin Central [4-4] at Center Grove [7-1] Jeffersonville [0-8] at Columbus North [3-5] SECTIONAL 14 [BRACKET] Whiteland [4-4] at Terre Haute North [0-8] Franklin [5-3] at Terre Haute South [4-4] SECTIONAL 15 [BRACKET] Bloomington South [7-1] at Bloomington North [8-0] Seymour [5-3] at Columbus East [3-5]
  3. Well, Bloom. North will host Bloom. South on one side of the bracket in Sectional 15. Col. East will host Seymour on the other side. Here's the Panthers chance to atone for all of the bad snaps in the first game. South didn't have any snap problems leading up to that game, and they haven't had any since that game. If things go the way it probably will, either the Panthers or the Cougars will probably be facing Seymour for the sectional championship.

  5. I don't know how I got the smiley face on THPD262's record, but it was too late for me to edit it out by the time I noticed it, and it's supposed to be Weeks 3 thru 8.
  6. Pick'em results for Week 8: ptr (4-0) - 25-4 LC_Bears_04 (4-0) - 24-5 Frozen Tundra (4-0) - 24-5 Bulldog15 (3-1) - 22-7 MuleDriver (3-1) - 18-11 THPD262 (4-0) - 20-3 (Weeks 3 thru 😎 Games for Week 9: Terre Haute South @ Columbus North Bloomington North @ Southport Seymour @ Bloomington South Terre Haute North @ Brebeuf Jesuit
  7. According to the schedule, they were not scheduled to play both Brebeuf or Seymour, so I guess that's it for their season.
  8. The South JV team moved to 7-0 with a 62-0 win over Brebeuf Jesuit. No frosh game and their season may be over with at a record of 5-0-1 with the season opening 14-14 tie with Col. East being the only "blemish" on their record.
  9. I didn't know that about the Elmore kid and hated to hear it. He was among two key returners on their basketball squad after getting hit hard by graduation after a great season last year. What kind of injury was it that would cancel out his basketball season?
  10. Bloomington South 51 Brebeuf Jesuit 26 (final) Brebeuf tacked on a score against the South backups with seconds left in the game to end it.
  11. Bloomington North 38 Columbus North 35 (final) B-North almost blew a 21-point halftime lead in the 2nd half, but hung on for the win. They have gained at least a tie for the CI championship and will probably win it outright against Southport next week.
  12. Bloomington North 38 Columbus 35 (2:03, 4th) C-North made this game close with time running out. The Bull Dogs have outplayed the Cougars in the 2nd half after being down by 21 at the half.
  13. Bloomington South 51 Brebeuf Jesuit 19 (11:53, 4th) South Panthers scored on a long pass play to pretty much put this one out of reach if it wasn't already there.
  14. Bloomington South 44 Brebeuf Jesuit 19 (end of 3rd) South has the ball near midfield to start the 4th qtr.
  15. Bloomington North 38 Columbus North 28 (9:11, 4th) The Col. North Bull Dogs scored another TD, but a two-point conversion try was no good.
  16. Bloomington South 44 Brebeuf Jesuit 19 (3:16, 3rd) After holding Brebeuf to a 3 and out, the South Panthers chewed up yardage on the ground scoring on a 15-yard TD run by Gavin Adams.
  17. Bloomington South 37 Brebeuf Jesuit 19 (5:34, 3rd) South backup RB Ben Morrison ran for a 25-yard TD.
  18. Bloomington North 38 Columbus North 22 (early 4th) The Bull Dogs scored right at the start of the 4th to keep the game at a two-score lead.
  19. Bloomington South 30 Brebeuf Jesuit 19 (mid 3rd) After South had a turnover free first half, they drove into the Braves territory only to throw a pick-six which allowed the Braves to close the gap. The PAT was botched on the snap.
  20. Bloomington North 31 Columbus North 15 (4:30, 3rd) The Bull Dogs scored on a 45-yard pass play and converted on a two-point play to pull within two scores.
  21. Whiteland 22 Plainfield 8 (11:21, 4th) Greencastle 35 Owen Valley 8 (11:04, 3rd) Bloomington North 31 Columbus North 7 (6:38, 3rd) The Cougars connected on a 27-yard FG.
  22. Bloomington South 30 Brebeuf Jesuit 13 (half) The South Panthers will receive the ball when the 2nd half begins.
  23. Bloomington South 30 Brebeuf Jesuit 13 (1:45, 2nd) No need for trick plays by South as they scored on their third straight long drive.
  24. Bloomington North 28 Columbus North 7 (half)
  25. Bloomington South 23 Brebeuf Jesuit 13 (4:55, 2nd) Right after the South TD, Brebeuf successfully executed a lateral on the return which went for a kickoff TD. It's the 2nd successful "trick" play by the Braves in the game. They went for two but it was unsuccessful.
