Hoosier Hills Conference

That’s good. I want a strong HHC. It’s good for all us. -

So is Floyd Central. And their Football program is actually decent. And they still can’t get anywhere close to East. I’d be happy if the score is anywhere close at Halftime. Not sure that happens. -

That game worries me. Seymour is solid. And we don’t play well up there for some reason. Should be a good game. -

Floyd Central 50 New Albany 14. New Albany was actually up 14-0. I don’t really know how? It was confusing. I guess at some point, FC decided they would start playing football. And then ripped off 50 unanswered. Coach Bragg made some great adjustments on offense. Really opened up a lot of things. It was encouraging seeing their passing game get going. But Wenkers Wright had 362 yards and 5 TDs. I’ve been jumped on before for talking about 40 times on here but this kid really does run a 4.4 40. He is about unstoppable if he gets past the Linebackers. Right now he’s sitting at over 1000 yds. I’m guessing he leads the state in rushing now. I’ll have to see when the final stats post. Anyways, it was fun game. And a great Fireworks show after. -

The team I would watch out for in a few years is Seymour. They came down here and beat 2 very good Highland Hills teams last night in 7th and 8th grade. I believe that Seymours 7th/8th also beat one of the Columbus Middle Schools as well. They are undefeated. Sounds like Seymour has a lot coming up. -

For a Walk-On, he looks pretty fast. I wouldn’t be suprised if he earns a scholarship eventually. -

I just wanted to point out that 2 East players were on the field today for Indiana. Obviously Crider is their starting LG. But Cam Wilson saw the field a lot in the 4th Qtr at WR. -

Jeffersonville looks better than I thought. But East should still win by “A LOT”. You’re defense looks to be pretty darn good. -

Floyd 28 Vincennes Lincoln 12 Floyds Defense deserves MVP for this game. 6 Interceptions and 1 for a TD. A lot to work on still. But I’ll take the win. How did Crenshaw look for PC? Oh, and great job. That’s a heck of a team you all played. -

I don’t know enough about Vincennes Lincoln to pick Floyd or pick against Floyd. The other picks look good though. -

What is the issue here? They have beaten them several years in a row and Providence took Floyd Central off their schedule. This isn’t a slight to Providence at all. It just isn’t a matchup opponent. -

I’d say we are more a running team right now. Our QB is a Jr and he’s a pretty good sized kid and he has a pretty good arm, but he’s been off a little bit. Our O-Line is pretty big this year and they have played decently so far. Our tailback is by far our best Offensive player. He might be one of the better RB that you guys see this season. If he gets to your Secondary it’s a high chance that he will bust to the endzone. Defensively we have been pretty decent. It’s a hard team to gauge because we played a top 3 team in the State of Kentucky. And then followed that up by playing 2A team that isn’t on our level. So this is probably our first matchup opponent. I hope your team and fans have a safe trip down here and back. -
I think Corydon will upset North Harrison.

I feel that as long as the banter isn’t vulgar, prejudice, or making fun of a disability, then it should be ok. -

Since then we won a Sectional Championship in 2009. We have finished Runner-Up in the Sectional several times to teams like Castle, Whiteland, and Columbus East. We typically finish about 2nd or 3rd in the Hoosier Hills Conference to perennial powerhouse Columbus East who hasn’t lost a conference game since 2006. Decent, steady program. -

You’re starting to sound like me. Lol. I just need to see East actually fall off before I believe that they will. That program is tremendous. -

I agree with that. It certainly wouldn’t be fair to Columbus East. -

Well, your #1 pick is pretty safe. Lol. As a Floyd fan, I really need to see our team play better this Friday against a fairly good Vincennes Lincoln team before assuming we go 5-1. It’s helpful that we have NA, Jeff, and BNL at home. I worry about the last game of the season at Seymour. We have a history of losing there, even if we have the better team. This team is pretty Junior laden, so next season with a totally different Non-Con schedule, FC could very well play their way into the 5A top 10. 7-2 would be great this season though. Perhaps, 8-1 next season. We have some talent in our pipeline, so I would expect them to remain competitive. One team that intrigues me is Jeffersonville. They seem to be playing a little better than expected. Having a Police Lieutenant as their Head Coach has brought some discipline to their program. New Albany is starting pretty much all Sophomores. That class was undefeated last season and pretty much dominated their competition. They are expecting that team in a year or two to be very competitive in conference. I also expect BNL to be pretty good going forward as they have put together a good program under Steve Weber. Heres a question though. What if Floyd played Madison instead of East, and they both went 6-0? How the heck would that have played out? -

Sectional. I’m not talking about HHC because I obviously feel that Seymour can enter the 2nd place race as well. -

Just saw this man. Idk how I missed it. Point blank. We did not play well in the 1st half. Played better in the 2nd half after I’m sure a (very encouraging) halftime rant. Our Tailback is terrific. Still have to get better in areas but like every team, I am sure they’ll work on it. The interesting thing, is of the quartet of FC, BNL, NA, and Jeff, which team will improve the MOST before October? That is the benchmark for the HHC outside of East. -

Oh I know. North is a really good program too. I tell people all the time, that I think kids in Columbus are given footballs in their crib at birth. It has to be. So much talent up there. -
