  1. You might be correct. That’s why I used the word “upset.” Elder is a powerhouse no doubt. But I’ve heard from some people that they’re “down” this year. It’s a tough challenge definitely. It would be one of the best wins in our schools history.
  2. FC is ranked #7 in 5A now. Assuming they can beat Providence and NA, and possibly upset Cincinnati Elder next week. I wonder how high they could be ranked coming into the game at home vs East? Could that possibly be the most hyped up game that East has had vs a HHC team since 2006? I’m still not sure how FC would matchup with them, but hype wise, it could be large. It’s a shame we can’t pack the stadium with FC and East fans.
  3. Jeffersonville is SOOO down right now. They lost their starting QB before the season. Their defense offered a little bit of resistance against Wenkers Wright. But their offense is a mess. They looked way out of sync. I just felt the Owls would win at home. One thing you can always say about Seymour, is that they will play their ***es off.
  4. I hear you. That was just my prediction.
  5. This weeks matchups. Jeffersonville vs Seymour- I like the Owls in this one at home. Jeffersonville is pretty bad and we know Seymour will at least play hard. Seymour by a score of 21-7. BNL vs Bloomington North-My upset pick of the week. I like coach Weber and I feel like BNL gets a signature win at home every year. This will be the one. Stars by a score of 27-21. East vs North-This is a big one. I think East gets back on track and gets McDonald going in this game. East scores with 30 seconds left to take the lead. East wins by a score of 21-14. South Dearborn vs Madison-SD put almost 40 on Seymour. I’m cheering for Madison but I’m going with SD by a score of 35-21. Jennings County vs Brown County-Brown County is 1-0. I don’t think either team is good but Brown County probably wins this one. BC by a score of 28-14. New Albany vs Eastern Hancock-Trap game for NA. Playing at Eastern Hancock the #13 team in 2A. EH is no slouch. They won their conference last year. The Dogs look very much improved and I think they get this one in a nail biter. NA by a score of 34-28. Floyd Central vs Providence-The last matchup between what used to be a Heated Rivalry. The Highlanders are at home. I predict a big game from Tristan Polk and Floyds very solid defense. Highlanders roll here 42-14.
  6. I think it’s both. Yes Tristan Polk, Wenkers Wright, and Zen Michalski are very athletic, very talented, and very HARD WORKING, kids. But coach Bragg is a really good Head Coach. And looking at the guys he has on staff, I’d say they’re pretty good themselves. It takes coaching, talent, and hard work, to win football games. That formula hasn’t changed in 50 years.
  7. Floyd Central was awful in basketball for like 15 years and hired Todd Sturgeon and now they have a top 10 program in the state. They had a decent football program under Brian Glesing but I think they’re going to another level under coach Bragg and his staff. Coaching matters as long as the kids will listen to it. We have good kids at FC. They have good kids in Columbus.
  8. I wish him the best of luck. Good man. Hall of Fame Coaches are Hall of Fame Coaches for a reason.
  9. Yeah. Poor guy. Coaching with Lymphoma is probably not fun. He definitely has my respect for that and for the overall job he did at FC.
  10. Oh wow. I hadn’t heard that. Not sure what that is all about?
  11. Because Paoli is a good 2A program coached by Brian Glesing and Madison lost by 1. I feel Madison can beat the teams in the HHC not named East, FC, and NA.
  12. My updated power rankings. 1. East 2. Floyd 3. NA 4. Madison 5. BNL 6. Seymour 7. Jeffersonville 8. Jennings County
  13. If they are really down, then Floyd should have a good chance of winning a Regional, assuming they win their sectional which obviously isn’t a given.
  14. I have a lot of respect for East. To go from 4A to 6A without it being an enrollment change, is pretty impressive. Regardless of how things go, Gaddis is one of the All-Time Greats.
  15. NA up 40-28 in the 4th vs Bloomington South. I knew NA was going to be very improved. Really good Junior Class. They’ll be scary next year. It appears they’re already getting there.
  16. FC over Jeff 41-6. Easy win. Had some guys out for this game, hopefully nothing long term. Injury bug bit us last year before big games against East and Bloomington South. Need to keep Polk and Wright healthy. Offensive Line was really impressive. Big and Athletic. Defense looked fast sideline to sideline. A little more size in the middle there too. I also liked what I saw from several Sophomores. Providence is an OK team but the real test is in 2 weeks vs Cincinnati Elder. I read stuff like this and get Optimistic, only for you guys to play like the New England Patriots against the HHC. But every Dynasty dies eventually. FC had a terrific basketball program for 25 years and then went 15 years where they were horrible and now finally are a Basketball Power again.
  17. FC up 35-0. FC looks pretty talented, although Jeffersonville is, well, Jeffersonville.
  18. FC and Jeff starting the game back up in the 2Q. FC has a 14-0 lead. Jeff really struggling. FC looks fast.
  19. Good luck to all the HHC teams tonight. May your players and fans stay healthy!
  20. Thanks for the Preview post! You guys are going to have a great season! I hope we can be somewhat competitive in that game.
  21. Yep. Madison has a really nice Running Back. They’ll score points on people. They aren’t as bad this year. Not sure they’ll stop anyone. Again, this is off second hand information.
  22. Didn’t see the FC/Madison scrimmage. Talked to someone about it. They said FC basically handled them offensively. But Madison was able to get in on them in the Redzone situations. I really need to see them play Jeff next Friday before I can really gauge them well.
  23. Y’all pretty big this year?
  24. https://www.newsandtribune.com/sports/high-school-football-highlanders-have-sky-high-hopes/article_349c24ee-dd02-11ea-a081-9fa6ab9bea25.html Floyd Central preview. If anyone else comes up with an HHC team preview, I’d love to read it.
  25. HHC Predictions based on my very limited current knowledge. 1. East-They have to be put here untill someone usurps them. McDonald is a beast of a Running Back and could be the league MVP. 2. FC-Should be clear cut favorite as the 2nd best team and program in the HHC. Behind Wright, Polk, Michalski, Quenichet and others, FC should be solid on both sides of the ball. 3. New Albany-I’m going with our friends to south. They have some really good young weapons a year older like Winford and Johnson and Coach Cooley can dial up some good Offensive stuff. 4. Seymour-They just find their way into this spot every year. 5. BNL-Big fan of coach Weber. Just don’t think they have the horses right now. 6. Jeffersonville-Were not very good last year. And lost a lot of Seniors. With almost 2500 students. You always wonder when the breakout will come. 7. Jennings County-The played decent last season. Lost a really good QB. I actually feel they have better days ahead. 8. Madison-There is a reason they want out of this Conference.
