The heavy rain not only evened things up. It killed our crowd as well as it being Harvest Homecoming in New Albany. We had a packed house at all the other games. So we really didn’t have the true homefield advantage in that game. Whether that makes a difference the next time around, who knows? -

I disagree. BNL couldn’t stop Tristan Polk untill he sprained his ankle. They couldn’t cover Calvin Brown, and they couldn’t cover Kaleb Quenichet. And that’s in the rain. They really couldn’t move the ball on Floyd when their defense really locked in. The weather played a factor for both teams of course. But Floyd is a lot more explosive on offense than they were due to high wind and a lot of rain. -

I’m not dogging on BNL or anything man. They are very clearly better than a 2-6 team. I’ll give them that. Nikirk, Hutchens, and Yates are 3 good SRs. The LT Bunch did as good of a job on Trace Richards as anyone has done all season. These games in Monsoons are always stupid. I just know that FC is right where I wanted them to be. 2 losses to East and the #18 team in the Country. Now they go to Seymour where they have lost 7 of the last 8 times and usually had the better team on paper. It’s tough to win on the road. -

I accept that. I don’t apologize for giving an opinion. -

That is completely false. BNL played tough tonight. I respect coach Weber and his program. We have a pretty good coach on the sidelines too. And a lot of good players. -

I agree with you, but unless there is a monsoon, I like FC in that one. -

FC played them close last year and then in Sectionals, BNL woke up and put it on them. I predict the opposite this year. -

Sure they are. The weather conditions played a huge part. BNL caught about every break they could in this game. Even Polk getting hurt on what I thought looked like a late hit with no flag. -

This game wouldn’t be close in dry weather. It’s cost Floyd a ton of points. No official has ever complained about this Music. Ever. In 10 seasons here. -

Rain has evened our FC and BNL. -

I’m at the FC/BNL game. And I number checked BNLs starters and I see a ton of Seniors on the field for BNL. Jrs too. I was under the impression this was a young team playing a lot of underclassmen. Very light crowd here tonight with the Rain and Harvest Homecoming going on. Looking forward to a great game. -

We can all agree on this. Injuries are the very worst part of football. -

East vs Seymour- The injuries have hit East. And if McDonald is out, that’s a blow because he’s a very solid TB. Seymour has a good one too with Drummond. I think East is too physical for Seymour and it should be a convincing win. FC vs BNL- On paper, it looks like a Floyd Central victory. But I am always nervous about playing BNL. Weber is actually a good coach. They will only get better from here on out. Floyd has some injuries. They should get a few guys back tonight. Their secondary has been hit hard. Their pass defense might be the weakness on that team. I like what Tristan Polk has been doing in the passing game. I’ll take the Highlanders. JC vs Jeff-I’m taking JC here. I think they finally hired the right coach. I love their offensive scheme. The longer he’s there, the better they’ll get. Like Coach Bragg at FC, coach Sharp is trying to get JC away from just the ground and pound style. An explosive passing game is the way to go these days. Jeff has talent. And I respect a Police Detective for taking that job. But Jeff is just all over the map right now. NA vs Madison-NA by a lot. Coach Cooley should be excited about his young kids, especially his TB, Myles Johnson. They have a few good athletes playing QB. In 2 years, that team will be a threat. -

I’m talking about his analysis of Seymour. And tbh, I was only joking. I.O. Just likes to bust my balls. -

Be careful writing stuff like this Frozen. You’ll have someone extremely butt-hurt come here and criticize it. Lol. Nevertheless, pretty good analysis as usual. -

Lol. No HHC team has an O-line like Whiteland. If FC couldn’t run on East, injuries or not, then Seymour won’t either. -

That was from the Louisville Courier-Journal. Lol. He said we had 8 Starters out, but I think it was more like 4. Maybe 5 against East/JC. I hope you get SC/Brownstown! That’s going to be a barn burner! -

Floyd Central battling injuries Two weeks ago against Columbus East, Floyd Central lost three starters to injury in the opening seven plays. The Highlanders were eventually crushed 41-14, but coach James Bragg remained optimistic. “That’s one of those games where you don’t want to have the next man up mindset because they're so good, but we did,” he said. “I’m not having we have guys that can change the outcome of that games. Having said that, it was nice to see our character and desire and our competitiveness.” Heading into Friday’s game against Bedford North Lawrence, the Highlanders will have five starters out, which is still better than last week when eight of them didn’t play. The biggest hole to fill has been the secondary, where the top three players each broke their collarbone. “It’s not a hodgepodge,” Bragg said. “But we rotate a lot in that secondary to try to make up for what we’re missing.” One of those players is senior Trace Willman, who played with a cast after breaking his hand against Male in the season opener. The defensive leader is ruled out for the season, but still comes to practice to help with the younger players. Despite the injuries, the players have been in high spirits. Bragg also said that injuries have created more competition at practice because the players want to be the next man up. The Highlanders are one win shy of finishing the season with a winning record, which was one of the team's goals for the year according to Bragg. They finished 5-5 in Bragg’s first year as the head coach last season. “Kids get excited every time we check off our team goal for the season,” he said. “We got to play fundamental defense. Bedford runs the option to a T. We can play the option perfect for 60 plays. Four plays we don’t do it right can lead to 28 points for Bedford.” Bedford North Lawrence (2-5) at Floyd Central (5-2) The Stars gave up 507 yards and 10 touchdowns to Columbus East last week and the running clock was on in the second quarter. The Highlanders will rely on running back Wenkers Wright as it had all season to get the offense flowing. But they must overcome injuries to finish with a winning season. -
