OK. Try to keep in mind that accusing an official of being bad at it is one thing. Implying unfairness is quite another.

That's a fair enough point. I called them unfair. But I will agree to say that they had a "bad game."

We need help on defense coach. We might be headed for State if we could play D in the Secondary. Instead of arguing with FKfootball, come help out. If not, keep quiet.

The calls were BS all game.

He's fine. He's friends with the entire coaching staff. So he'll get their opinion on the game one way or the other. But yes, Coach Hess is a solid DC. I'd love to see him coaching somewhere on that staff.

Oh I'm sure I overreacted. I just don't know how you call pass interference on a  defensive back that is 2 yards away from the WR and the ball is 8 feet over both of their heads.

I don't know how good I'd be, but I'd at least try to be fair.

They can score fast.  The QB does a good job of putting the ball where only his receivers can catch it.  As fast as their O can score though, their D can allow scores.   I could be wrong, but I thought I noticed 3-4 of their O skills going both ways. 2nd half fatigue has to factor into some of their outcomes.

I thought that was a big reason why FC was able to come back and beat them. FC has more depth than Seymour. Coach Bragg plays a lot of players. He even put in a Freshman at RB last week who looked impressive and you pretty much never see a Freshman play Varsity at FC. He must be good.

So the HHC title will be on the line in two weeks. I’m excited for that.

I'm not convinced that FC is just going to show up in Columbus and walk out of there with some kind of easy win. That's going to be a tough game. If they come out not playing sharp, like the did in the 1Q tonight, East will take advantage.

Tonight is Columbus East’s first home game against an HHC team so I decided to go back and look at some stats about how they’ve done at home against HHC teams in the recent past.

-The home loss against New Albany in 2021 is the only home conference game East has lost in the last 20 years (Floyd Central - 2003). When counting postseason games, it’s the only home loss to an HHC team in 18 years (Seymour - 2005 sectional 1st round).

-Since East’s rise to power in 2004, East is 67-2 at home against HHC teams (64-1 if only counting HHC games).

-Since 2000, East is 77-6 at home against HHC teams (74-5 if only counting HHC games). Two of the six losses are noted above. The other four were to Seymour in 2000 and 2002 and Floyd Central in 2001 and 2003.

-East hasn’t lost two home games in the same season against HHC teams since 1999 when they fell to Seymour and Madison.

-As for the other three HHC schools not mentioned, East hasn’t lost a home game to Jennings County or Jeffersonville since 1998 or to BNL since 1997.

I say all this because East plays New Albany, Floyd Central, and BNL at home this year and I think a lot of these streaks are going to come to an end.

If Floyd Central doesn’t win up there this year, I’m not sure when they will?

Unfortunately, it’s not going to happen. East maybe gets to 3 wins if they’re lucky. They are very bad. As for Jennings County, they got very banged up the last two weeks. They might have two more wins at best as well.

It’s still a long way to go. I for one, am not ready to hand any trophies out. FC still has to play a pretty good BNL team at home. And a trip to Columbus that could be a trap game if they don’t come out sharp.

    This week’s games (week 5):

    BNL (2-2, 2-0 HHC) at Seymour (2-2, 2-1 HHC)

Floyd Central (3-1, 1-0 HHC) at Jeffersonville (0-4, 0-2 HHC)

New Albany (1-3, 1-1 HHC) at Columbus East (1-3, 1-1 HHC)

Madison (1-3) at Jennings County (2-2)

    Note:

    - Floyd Central received 4 votes in the media poll this week but none in the coaches poll. I believe they’re the only HHC team to receive votes in either poll this season so far.

Seymour. Really good team. Both of those teams could’ve won the other night. I like Seymour by 2 TDs at home.

FC. It’s always a trap game to play a 0-fer team in their stadium though. It will be Jeffersonvilles last gasp effort. I expect them to try to spoil FCs season.

Col East. New Albany is a mess. I’ve heard that the Locker Room is having some issues there. East isn’t as bad as their record. They’ll win.

JC. They have work to do but they’re still better than Madison.

And to use FKfootball's words, we've "already played the hardest and 3rd hardest teams" and neither of them put 40 on us.

I expect BNL to give us a pretty tough game. They have a solid team. I’m not expecting FC to hang 40 on them. It’ll be a 28-21 type of game if I had to guess.
