  1. Penn puts up a minimum of 40 for the win.
  2. NP has been decimated with injuries this season along with being an extremely young team. I think the only game so far they should’ve won was against Adams, but multiple injuries in that game hurt pretty bad. There’s a reason you didn’t see Robinson passing last game but it’s not my place to reveal why. As far as kids transferring to LaPorte, I’m not aware of any or are my 2 boys that are on the team. It’s going to continue to be a rough year for the cougars and hopefully the youngsters get much needed reps to prepare themselves for next year and beyond
  3. I’ve talked to a few people in the “know” and all agree this is a solid hire. He’s coming into a lot better situation than he previously did. Coach O’Shea comes from a good line of coaches in his family and seems to be a good fit. When NP hired McKim his resume was less than impressive and it seemed to work out pretty well for him.
  4. Interviews started last week. From what I’ve heard there’s 1 very intriguing candidate
  5. The assistants at NP have been the big difference makers for awhile. While Mckimm may have received the accolades for NPs success it’s been the constant dedication of the the longtime assistants there. The strength coach has done wonders for the program and not just for football. Gumm made it public knowledge he was stepping away as offensive coordinator mid season last year for health reasons. I have not the cougars will continue to be successful regardless of who the new coach is because of the outstanding staff he’d inherit
  6. Lol. I’m sure there’s something they do well at, guess I’ll find out tomorrow. I know it’s early in the new coaches tenure, but how’s the fan base feeling about him?
  7. Can any Penn fans give a rundown on the kingsmen? What do they do well on offense and what’s their weaknesses on defense?
  8. Marian @ Elkhart- The knights should be able to make this an interesting game but I think Elkhart’s defense will prove to be the difference maker in this one. Penn @ NP- not really sure what to think of this one. The cougars line has improved a little since earlier in the season but don’t know if it’s enough yet. I think this could be a rather low scoring game that comes down to who plays more disciplined football. Not ready to make a prediction just yet. Riley @ Adams- something tells me Adams takes this one. Washington @ St Joe- the huskies offense is not that good but should be good enough to handle the panthers rather easily.
  9. His son plays for Penn
  10. Definitely not sold on Elkhart, I think Penn takes care of business and wins by 14+
  11. Nothing to exciting this week. Elkharts defense should carry them to a easy victory Penn has the JV in after halftime NP will have a new play caller this week, we’ll see if that gives the offense a spark or not. Np comfortably. Marian coasts in this one
  12. Unfortunately that seems to be the norm with south Bend schools lately
  13. New Prairie holds their own against Elkhart but falls short 17-14. NP’s defense will keep them in every game but the offense is really lacking this year. Was not overly impressed by Elkhart.
  14. Hats off to St Joe, they played lights out and definitely better prepared. My biggest worry this year about the cougars was the offense and they showed that Friday.
  15. Couldn’t be a crappier week of games. Everyone who should win I’m guessing will win. Time to dismantle the conference and go there separate ways.
  16. Sports Michiana does a great job covering the area as does Region sports nation. Jim Peters does a wonderful job of covering the LaPorte county schools.
  17. After watching the NP vs MC scrimmage Friday a few things came to light. I believe the cougar defense will be their strong point this year with the offense way behind. Defensively it looks they’ll start 10 seniors with a couple studs returning. Offense needs a ton of work. The o-line seems pretty shaky and possibly haven’t figured out the right combo of kids yet. I’m guessing the QB will carry the load this year. They seem to be lacking a physical RB that can break tackles. I’m sure they didn’t show a lot during the scrimmage and might have a few weapons to put back there. I think by mid season they have the potential to get better and possibly make some noise.
  18. Definitely right about the Elkhart hype machine, all I’ve seen on social media this summer is people hyping them up. I’ll believe it when I see it. I believe Riley takes a step back this year. I don’t know what to think of the cougars this year, between the last 2 senior classes they’ve lost a ton of talent and have been less than impressive in their scrimmages so far. I don’t think they’ll show much against Michigan City on Friday. I do know the loss last year to Laporte is weighing heavy on the boys. i believe Marian and St Joe will both be much improved over the last few years and sit close to the top of the standings by the end of the year. penn will be Penn and take care of the conference. would like to see them make some noise in 6a this year, the conference schedule doesn’t help them much. good luck to all teams this season.
  19. Michiana football reported that Elkhart will be getting 2 high impact transfers from Mishawaka next season.
  20. After watching the Northridge/Northwood game I definitely think New Prairie will be able to do what they do best which is run the ball. The big question is whether NP can stop or slow down the panthers passing game. Looking forward the a very entertaining game. Doesn’t look like the weather will be a factor at all for the game.
  21. Word on the “streets” is a certain picture or pictures have been released of certain players from Northwood doing something that is illegal in the state of Indiana. Hope it’s not true as I don’t want the game to be tainted in any way.
  22. Early forecast does not look good for Friday, could play a role in the outcome of some games
  23. I give all the credit to the Penn D. Talking to him before the game you could see how pale he was, and not up to his normal self. Penn’s D is certainly elite but think the offense could hold them back come tournament time
  24. Hell of a performance by Penn’s D. After talking to a few people and his Parents I don’t think Kmiecik should have been playing tonight. He was very sick all week and in the hospital hooked up to IV’s. Gotta give credit to the young man for playing but you could tell he wasn’t the same.
  25. New Prairie’s field will probably be a mud pit Friday night after all the rain we’re going to get.
