  1. Unfortunately, yes he is a senior. Burnett is a junior and should be back next year. And of course the defense on the hill is starting 7 sophomores I believe it is.
  2. Jay Smith won this game tonight. He carried every yard on the 80 yard drive to take the lead. Well over 200 on the ground for him.
  3. Going back to this game, did you see the “fumble” by Jay Smith at the three? I have. For those who don’t know, Teitz was driving and was inside the North 10 ( I believe it was at the 5, but I could be wrong), ball is handed to Smith who dives into the left side of the line, is hit and tackled. You see the ball on the turf after the tackle, squirts off screen to the left, and a couple of seconds later (literally), Smith walks in frame, hands the ball to the white hat, walks away to huddle. Officials confer at the spot, fumble is called, and North is awarded possession. How, when the Reitz RB hands you the ball? I believe it is on HUDL, as my friend has access due to being a coach for the 7th and 8th grade teams.
  4. Castle over Lincoln Memorial over Harrison Reitz over Central North over Bosse (barely) Jasper over MD
  5. Lincoln over Central Jasper over Bosse Castle over Harrison Reitz over North MD over Memorial
  6. Castle over Bosse Memorial over Central MD over Lincoln North over Harrison Reitz over Jasper in a game that wakes some people up.
  7. Couldn’t get it in because of the crash, but thoughts were: Reitz over Lincoln Castle over MD Jasper over Harrison Memorial over North Central over Bosse Boy, have I been wrong about that last one so far. Bosse up 14-0
  8. Lincoln over Bosse Reitz over Harrison Castle over North Mater Dei over Central Jasper over Memorial in a barn burner.
  9. IDK. I think the Byers High School on the west side was a better one. But still love the tradition.
  10. Evansville Reitz used to use purple and orange. In the mid 1900s, they gave the colors to Evansville Lincoln high school, and adopted the colors of blue and grey.
  11. I believe (don’t quote me on this) that Reitz will only have two senior starters next year, and no skill starters will be one. I believe that a lot of this year’s freshmen will make the jump to varsity, and the record will be around 6-3, but the jump will be when that class becomes juniors (two years from now). But I am on the outside looking in.
  12. Mater Dei Central North Castle over Jasper in a slugfest Memorial over Reitz. That being said, Reitz is playing for the future at this point. That are playing a lot of underclassmen. At this point, I think we see this season as a wash on the hill, and are currently transitioning to next year’s team now.
  13. Memorial Castle North Jasper Central (gut tells me Reitz pulls the upset though)
  14. Just so everyone knows, Central announced that they will not have a freshman team the rest of the year due to low numbers. They are being absorbed into the JV team.
  15. First three are easy. Castle over Bosse North over Harrison Central over Memorial Lincoln over Mater Dei and in the game of the night: Reitz over Jasper
  16. Wish I could have been there, but I didn’t find out that they were doing different attendance rules than Evansville until last night. Folks, Lincoln is open to 50% (not 500 total), but you have to purchase your tickets in advance. Might be a little more work to drive up there, but general public tickets are sold on Thursday evening from 5-7. They have a video on their Facebook page that explains it all.
  17. Central over Bosse Jasper over Harrison Castle over Mater Dei Reitz over Lincoln North over Memorial. The game at North will be the game of the night. Reitz @ Lincoln will be a good game. The other games will (or should) be rollovers.
  18. Watched the Reitz/Harrison game last night, and have to say, it was a weird one. Harrison did well on special teams (two huge punt returns), but overall, take that away, they only had one really big drive against the starters (their first possession) that led to a score. Not sure what to make of them. Will they be that team that averages 28 a game, but goes winless because they can’t stop anyone? Who knows. Reitz on the other hand, looked pretty good on offense. Defense was a little shaky at times as they implemented a new defensive scheme this year, and special teams was atrocious. Maybe put in some work on that this week. But overall, I was happy with the progress I saw last night.
  19. Lincoln over Bosse (lay the points) Memorial over Jasper (take the points) Reitz over Harrison (lay the points) Castle over North (take the points) Mater Dei over Central (take the points of course)
  20. ^^^^^^ please remove this post. Only rumor and conjecture at this moment with no official announcement. Thanks.
  21. I can say that the Reitz football Facebook page (not reitzfootball.com, Rudy’s page) was taken down after Friday night.
