  1. It also isn't going to impact 99% of the people. It's really just designed to prevent students from each school getting into it, which happens semi-frequently especially if you have schools in close proximity to one another.
  2. Being on the visiting side at BD many times, I can say it's my favorite place to travel to for a game. The concessions are 2nd to no one and it isn't that far from the stands. Plus there's usually a lot of room in the visiting stands there because the grandstand is very spacious for an away side.
  3. This is also not uncommon for big schools. Carmel effectively has the home and visitor sides completely blocked off from one another. North Central and Pike sort of do as well. Warren doesn't yet but it's set up that we could if the situation arises to make it necessary.
  4. The way I understand it is that you are still free to sit on the Ben Davis side, there is just a certain gate you need to enter through. It says anyone associated with Wayne Township schools or those rooting for BD. As long as you aren't affiliated with the visitor, you should be okay. Perhaps @BDGiant93 can elaborate further.
  5. It can't be often that someone beats Carmel 4 years in a row, let alone 5. So that would be mighty impressive if CG were to do it. Should be a low scoring game I'd imagine.
  6. Thanks for sharing! As I read the article, the word that struck me was "authentic." Coach Willen definitely embodied that.
  7. This game is also honoring the 1984 Warren state championship team. On that note, sad news from Warren: Larry Willen, who spent over 50 years coaching at Warren, has passed away. Was on staff for all 9 football state championships
  8. It's been well noted that Brohm has recruited well and brought great players to Purdue. Although not to the same extent, a lot of the same can be said about Tom Allen at IU. If they were in the division Purdue is in in the Big Ten, they'd win 7-8 games.
  9. Not that it has any relevance but an interesting factoid nonetheless: Warren obviously has a long win streak vs NC and a 10 point win would equal the 2nd lowest margin of victory during the streak (I believe). Warren 28-26 in 2013 for the lowest. Interestingly enough, the only times NC has kept it to 10 or fewer (2013 reg season, 2018 regional), Warren won the state title. I think Warren will win, something like 31-13.
  10. Jayson West 52-13 at LC with 2 state championship game appearances and 1 title. LC is 26-39 since he left and 3 postseason wins. "West had so much success because he coached in Conference Indiana." He was 15-5 vs the MIC at LC. Warren literally went out and got this guy because they couldn't beat him. No need to discuss his 60-17 record at Warren since he's at a big school with elite talent and it's so easy to win in the MIC or that he's 18-10 vs Carmel, Ben Davis, and Center Grove (winners of 8 of the 10 state titles in the highest class since 2001 that Warren hasn't won).
  11. They have the potential but it's still too early to tell. We're about to find a whole lot about them.
  12. Warren, Carmel, and CG have elite defenses. But all have offenses that are works in progress.
  13. New Pal has established themselves as the definitive best in the state. I'm not sure there's a team in Indiana that can stay within 2 scores of them. It's not that they did this vs Center Grove, it's that they did it AT Center Grove. That's a tough place to win
  14. As for the games themselves: -I think BD bounces back vs Avon -St. X is a tough place to play, so I'll take them in a close one over Brownsburg -Fishers rolls over Pike -Roncalli over FC -HSE over North Central in a close one -Jeff over LC -Trinity over Warren (which pains me bc I don't ever remember going into a game thinking Warren will definitely lose but I hope I'm wrong) -LN over Marion -CG over New Pal (if Steele plays, New Pal wins if he doesn't) -Carmel over Noblesville -Southport over Perry -Westfield over Decatur Central -Zville over Lebanon
  15. This is probably a good year in the MIC to break in a new QB. Not that it's easy, but it's probably more manageable than it is most years. At least that's kind of what week 1 showed. I suspect North Central and LC are better than their week 1 performances would suggest but getting them early (ish) will benefit Warren as well. I think it'll be a year in the MIC where the conference as a whole doesn't look good early but as the season progresses, so will the teams.
  16. You don't think Warren and Trinity will play a 3rd consecutive 42-41 game? 😂 (I hope the winner doesn't get into the 40s because Warren has no shot if it does)
  17. Pre-MIC Lawrence Central who routinely beat MIC teams to get to Lucas Oil. Name the coaches to win a title in the highest class in the last 17 years. It's a very short list, two guys. Two state title appearances at LC coming from the south bracket. Only non-MIC coach to do that. Got LC to a level where they were able to join the MIC. He's done quite a lot at Warren other than just having elite talent. The 2012 Warren team year before Jayson came) that went 5-6 had more talent than the 2013 team that Jayson won a state title with. But still, him bringing his LC team into Warrior Stadium in the 2010 sectional and beating up on a Warren team that was mostly unchallenged by anyone in Indiana that season remains one of the more impressive things I've seen by a non MIC school vs a MIC school.
  18. Kind of sounds like people are. I've heard a lot of reasons why Center Grove should have/deserved to win but nothing about how their secondary kept leaving Warren receivers wide open or how Warren was led on offense by a QB who was a TE 3 weeks ago or how their best player is a DB turned RB.
  19. We can certainly debate whether or not his comments were appropriate or not but Coach Beyers is an extremely successful coach. Besides, what he said isn't necessarily way out of line. He did commend their leadership by example but he's trying to pull an extra level out of them. No one spends more time around these players than him, so if he feels this is the best way to approach this then that's that. If it has the opposite effect, as you said, then it really just proves his point. I don't think it will. I think you're actually about to see the best Warren has looked all season going into sectionals.
