  1. Not too surprising as Ben Davis has always hired from within. And he has worked under an impressive list of coaches.
  2. I’d say that since 2000, all of those coaches have had pretty successful tenures for Warren outside of the present. But all the current coach has done is be a winner everywhere he’s ever been. It isn’t like they’re on a long run of unsuccessful coaching tenures. It can also be argued that every coach that’s left never found the same level of sustained success they had at Warren.
  3. My first thought was: with how elite and big time a program IMG is, why was this game scheduled in the first place? Lol
  4. Maybe, maybe not. A lot of it could be the product of bad competition, but I definitely think it's a different offense with this new QB. Will it be enough? I'm not sure. Center Grove is Center Grove and that's a tough place to win in the tournament. But I like Warren's chances much better today than I did two weeks ago. What won't help is one of Warren's best kids on the OL was ejected last night, so you know what that means for next week.
  5. I'm as much as a Warren homer as they come, but if they don't clean up the turnovers, they have little chance against BD. Warren has given up 60 points in the last 2 games, 9 total scores. 6 of those 9 scores have come directly off Warren turnovers due to short fields. Additionally, at least 3 of those have been directly returned for TDs. It doesn't matter how good Warren's defense has played at times, you can't live like that. The unfortunate part is that Warren has been able to run the football well, but have had no threat of a passing game. Multiple turnovers in every game though, including a couple games with 4 is just brutal. As much as I hope I'm wrong, BD wins 30-24. (I'm going closer because weird things happen in this game every year) Carmel beats LN 24-10, Center Grove by a lot, LC wins 28-7.
  6. Ben Davis played a good game. That's for sure. Warren didn't play well and I heard weren't great in practice this week. So BD took advantage of that. That's all I'm going to say about that. If I say how I really feel, I'll be kicked into oblivion on here. If you think it's okay to decide a game on something EVERY team does, than that's on you.
  7. Ban every last official that worked tonight's Warren-BD game. They were terrible. They won BD that game
  8. OT at Ben Davis. Warren blocked BD's FG attempt but the refs called illegal substitution. Not sure why. Didn't appear there were 12 men on the field. This officiating crew has been horrendous.
  9. 14-10 Ben Davis over Warren, early 4th. Just an ugly ugly game for Warren
  10. 10-7 Warren over Ben Davis. 3rd quarter. Warren has come out much different in the 2nd half
  11. Warren down 7-0 to Ben Davis. The referees have been absolutely atrocious
  12. Warren and BD still tied at 0. This is the absolute worst I've ever seen a Jayson West coached team at Warren. Undisciplined, sloppy, confused. Not good.
  13. Sigh. I guess Warren should just pack it in for the rest of the season because there's no chance for them because they can't beat Center Grove without Center Grove giving them the game. Teams grow. Warren is a lot better now (and only getting better) since that opener, and whether they were "given" the game or not, they still won it. Fun fact: Warren is also allowed to get better too (and they have). Great defense with an offense that's starting to put it together. I wouldn't exactly write them off.
  14. I don't think it'll ever happen. A lot of the MIC teams already play at least one HCC team. The ones who don't have supplemented their conference schedule with out of state powers (Trinity) or other marquee programs (New Pal, etc). It's an intriguing idea though.
  15. If Warren beats Ben Davis and Pike in the next 2 weeks, I believe Jayson West joins that group as well. What Kurt Tippmann has done at Snider is certainly impressive. Beating New Pal alone is really good work
  16. I think we are probably there. I have no clue what's going on there right now but surely the talent level isn't that low to have lost 10 of their last 14 games.
  17. Well maybe he should wait until next week. He was 0-5 vs Warren as the coach at BD, including 42-7 and 76-7 losses in his final season. 😳 On second thought, bring him back now. 😬
  18. Warren 37-17. I think BD comes out early and hangs in there. But I think Warren is just simply the better team and pulls away late.
  19. That's 3 teams of an 8 team league. And this is in a down year. Last year there were 4 very very good teams and this is in a stretch where Ben Davis is down. 15 of the last 17 with just one school managing to repeat in that span. Last 4 years, 4 different winners. Same conference. But yeah, totally not a grind every year.
  20. Rivalry games are always different animals. Especially at BD. Coming off a tough loss, I'm sure they'll be ready to play.
  21. LC looked miles better than they did last year. They have some legit speed and playmakers. Their defense has a long way to go, however. But LC did return 2 kicks for TDs, so that's something Warren has to absolutely clean up.
  22. Well I'm the genius who thought BD might have a shot vs Center Grove. 🤦🏻‍♂️
  23. I get it. I'm sure every coach will spin it "We had a great season, won the MIC, did good." One convo I had with someone well involved with a MIC team and he said, "Winning the MIC shows you are capable of winning state but once week 9 ends, it's back to 50-50 unless you have one of those real special teams." And under the current format, that's correct. Whether you go 7-0 in the MIC or 0-7, you're starting from the same place come tourney time.
