Closer to Heritage I would go to nine mile.
Definitely. Shelby (mom's cousin) and Joe are relation of mine. I believe Joe's business partner is a distant cousin to my wife as well.

Lapel has a new brewery called Pax Verum that serves excellent craft beer. Variety of food trucks on Friday nights as well for before or after game dining as well.
Made the long drive down to your field in 2016 when we played. Ended up hitting McDonald's in Anderson I believe on the way back. That was a long night.
Edit: It was Alexandria not Anderson that night.

Let's hear what places your area has to offer before or after a Friday night. I'm guessing some will say the following for the Decatur/Monroe area: West End, Galley, & Back 40.

Isn't that weird that those 2 are right in your back yard but Caston and Triton were assigned to 44?
Definitely as of late. It is still weird that AC's enrollment has surpassed SA's. I'm used to SA being a 2A in the past. I'm sure it probably won't be too long until AC becomes a 2A based on enrollment if trends continue with the open enrollment throughout the state.

So geography out the window this year....nothing like 3 charter bus trips in your sectional!
Felt like that in our 2016 year. Traveling around Muncie area when everyone else was playing nearby. Believe we went to Wes-Del and Shenandoah for the first 2 rds and then won a close one at home against Monroe Central. Then won regional at Southwood which was a normal sectional foe.

Whoa we aren't with South Adams & Southern Wells!! That was shocking.

Longer cycle make sense IMO.
Based on my observations in Indiana and Ohio, it just allows certain programs to have longer periods of dominance. Especially in the smaller classes. It's interesting as Ohio members would like something close to the Success Factor to replace their new Competitive Balance fiasco. They'd like to re-classify their divisions every year and would maybe consider 2 years as the longest, but not preferred.

That's awesome! I'm a big Michigan fan, but Wazzou is my #2. Cool to see someone from the Hoosier state committing to the Palouse.

I'd be in favor of a longer cycle as well. Completely agree that one great class can ruin the opportunity to compete for a good not great upcoming class.
I'd like to see an "Unsuccess Factor" too. I've read about it on here before and thought it was a good idea. Bump a team down if they haven't won a sectional game is x amount of seasons. I think it would be a great way for struggling programs to build. I realize it would not benefit struggling 1A teams but that would be about the same as teams who are struggling and stuck in 6A because of enrollment in the current system.
I should expand to mention that if the team moved up after 1 year doesn't earn say at least a regional, then they move back down to enrollment class. It just seems that in some cases, you know a certain team will walk through the field that year or for a second year in a row. I think the success factor is working for the most part, just think that maybe something could be done in those cases.
-
Any thoughts on tweaking this just a tad by having a 1 year point total within the 2 year time frame automatically moving a team up before the cycle ends? Maybe winning state automatically would move a team up to a higher class?

I hope to be able to work with him on continuing to develop the youth program. Our youth league consists of Adams Central and Bellmont. I will say it has been an uphill battle for our league to get enough kids out for the Bellmont teams the last couple of years. Our league used to mix the kids together until we partnered with Coach Mosser and Coach Ballard. I can tell you that it isn't just football that Bellmont has had the number problem with either. Coach Ballard did a great job trying to get more youth players to play and was very accommodating in hopes to grow our league and respective programs. Hopefully Coach Davis can generate some enthusiasm and maybe change the culture in the community to match what we have at Adams Central and what South Adams has as well.

And i promise i will stop derailing anything after this, but this is directed RIGHT AT YOU IO......other parts of the state has wi-fi, yes? BC if not, how am I going to continue my righteous work of analyzing, studying, breaking down, researching, and watching TWD? LOL
I am from the region. NWI.
***I am presuming you are saying that tongue in cheek***
I was told it's "Da Region" not "The Region" on another Indiana athletics board.

I want to say sorry. I did enjoy the home side last fall when BD used it. Great field just wish visitors side was higher up. I didn't mean the way it sounded. Good luck this year. Hurry up August.

I don't think you two are representing the values of your denomination. Hope the archdiocese in SB doesn't see this or you two will be in confession booths pronto.

I'm going to give FWCS the benefit of the doubt and pass that off as a rumor. I can't imagine them saying no to a donor, then changing their mind a few years later and forking over almost a million in taxpayer money.
Regardless, let's thank Wendy Robinson for making this a reality. It was a big decision on the part of FWCS.
I agree. A decision was made a long time ago that Snider and Northrop would share a football field. If it's Snider's field too, then why is there a Bruin in the center? They say that Snider will still be able to put up their flags and banners, but that doesn't take away from the fact that there is a mascot of their most heated rivals in the middle of the field. On one hand, I can see Snider pretending to be appreciative and continuing to bring their flags and banners. On the other hand, I wouldn't blame them for bringing nothing at all and accepting the fact that they don't have a "home" field to play on. And that's not crying over spilled milk, that's just telling your players that EVERY game is an "away" game and we will continue to win even if the game is in your backyard.
I like your idea of having a football in the center. I might also consider FWCS in the endzones. I don't like the idea of SNIDER and NORTHROP plastered in the endzones, I think that would be unfair to Northrop since the field is on their campus. What about a simple panther and bruin on either side of the 50?
I'd say put Spuller in the end zones or have nothing in them (which looks weird on turf). Maybe a Black & Yellow cat paw and an orange & brown bear paw on each 25?
-
If it is true that a donor was going to pay for it and they turned it down, then this is a fail. Yes it was needed, but FWCS isn't in a great position in any of its standings from what I have heard. Only having the Bruin at midfield is a bad choice imo. Just put a football at the 50 and put each school in the end zones and be done with it.

Adams Central, Churubusco, Fremont, Knightstown, Northfield, South Adams, Southern Wells, Southwood
Fremont to Knightstown would be one heck of a drive for a Sectional opener. I can see North Miami coming back into the area like they used to be.

It is an impossibility, and even more so in basketball than in football. There are no metrics that can can be used to make seeding legitimate. Outside of the coaches in the room putting pen to paper, like they do in wrestling.
Seems to work very well that way. Maybe create a formula to base it off the rankings. Honestly I'd be fine with the top 2 or top 4 of 8 team sectionals being seeded and the rest randomly drawn.
-
Another reason to seed our tournaments, but I digress.

Nice article I saw about Shoals. It would be cool to see them win a sectional. Incredible how different that area of the state seems to be compared to my area of NE Indiana.

I'm just happy to have football to watch whether it is AAF or XFL in 2020. Used to have AFL but that's a shell of its former self. College hockey is only Friday and Saturday nights for the most part. College wrestling Sunday afternoon if it's a matchup I'm interested in. Only so much regular season college basketball, NBA, and NHL I can tolerate.

Very cool to see this happening.

Has anyone ever done this at the same time? Say coach football at school A and baseball at school B?
-
Haven't heard a word in the area on Bellmont or Southern Wells.

This sounds like a Kentucky problem to me. I say just draw the line from the IN/OH line north of Lawrenceburg straight west to the IN/IL line north of Sullivan and problem solved. JK 😄
