I give a thumbs up to Warren Central. The Warriors bounced back from their first loss of the season and beat a good Bishop Chatard team 36-25.

What's good GID. Week 3 is upon us and its Homecoming Week on the Eastside of Indianapolis as the 1-1 Warren Central Warriors host the 0-2 North Central Panthers. Last season marked the first time since 1999 North Central defeated Warren Central in a 10-0 win, snapping the Warriors' 32 winning streak. Warren Central almost lost in the playoffs to North Central. But they were able to pull off a comeback and win 20-17, knocking the Panthers out of the postseason for the third straight season. What are your thoughts and predictions for this game? My prediction: Warren Central wins 41-21 over NC and begins a new winning streak. Fire away guys.
Rise up Warriors!!!!

Totally agree. Merrillville ranked ahead of Westfield and also Elkhart and Homestead being ranked ahead of Warren Central and Ben Davis is ridiculous. Westfield and Warren Central were unfairly punished for losing to two of the top 20 teams in the nation. Here's how I think the 6A top 10 should look after week 1:
1. Center Grove
2. Carmel
3. Westfield
4. Brownsburg
5. Warren Central
6. Ben Davis
7. Merrillville
8. Hamilton SE
9. Homestead
10. Fishers
I also think Gibson Southern should be ranked #1 in 3A after their dominant performance against Columbus North.
I absolutely agree with you on this. No high school should be punished badly for losing to a highly ranked opponent. They really did do Westfield and Warren Central dirty.

My Week 2 predictions are: Ben Davis, Center Grove, Carmel, Fishers, NC, Lafayette Jeff, and Warren Central

What's good GID. I'm back with a new topic. This week the Warren Central Warriors host the two time defending Class 3A champions Bishop Chatard Trojans. Yes, another Trojans team. Both teams are coming off of season opening losses. Chatard lost 24-16 and Warren Central lost 38-14. According to John Harrell's website, the two programs have never met on the gridiron before. Who are you all picking? My prediction: Warren Central bounces back in a close game. WC 28 BC 21. Fire away

I know one week is not much of an indication but I firmly think Warren has still cemented themselves as “the best of the rest” in the MIC.
I foresee them running the table through the Carmel game.
Center Grove is going to do that to a lot of teams.
So you're saying the Warriors have a chance?

Looks like Warren Central has taken a backseat to Center Grove for the foreseeable future.

The defending Class 6A champions Center Grove Trojans travel to Warren Central to take on the Warriors. Center Grove ran the tables en route to its 3rd state title in the last two decades. Warren Central struggled to its first losing season in eight years with a 4-6 finish. The Warriors return much of their team from last year and the Trojans have heavily favored to do something that hasn't been done since 2006. Repeat as state champions. This is a great match up and I would like your opinions on who you all think will win. My prediction: the Warriors pull a 2016 and upset the defending champs in a close game 27-24.

I'm apparently a dumbass. Completely forgot about Center Grove's defense. I know I said Warren Central would win. But after looking at the Trojans, there's no way the Warriors are winning this game. Revised prediction: CG 35 WC 14.

I know they actually lost a game or two, but the best single game team performance I ever saw was Warren in 2003. What they did to a good Penn team in the Finals was almost criminal.
I remember that game so well. The Warriors turned Penn into Kingsmen roadkill.

Warren Central has no Week 2 or Week 9 games scheduled as of yet. I know the Louisville Trinity series ended last year due to COVID-19 and the Shamrocks not being able to travel. I hope the Warriors are not going to have an all conference schedule again this fall. One losing season is bad enough. Warren Central, please fill your two open slots!!

Probably would have been better to wait until basketball seasons finishes but I went ahead and found out each 6a football schools record for basketball and football combined. Obviously not a power ranking for which school puts out the best team but interesting nonetheless. Combined record is in parentheses and win percentage is to the right, ranked by percentage.
6A.
1. Homestead (33-2) .943%
2. Lafayette Jeff (32-3) .914%
3. Carmel (29-5) .853%
4. Westfield (29-6) .829%
4. Lawrence North (29-6) .829%
6. Center Grove (26-6) .813%
7. FW Carroll (23-9) .719%
8. Warsaw (23-10) .697%
9. Columbus North (17-8) .680%
10. Brownsburg (20-10) .667%
11. Warren Central (22-12) .647%
12. Elkhart (21-12) .636%
12. Chesterton (21-12) .636%
12. Crown Point (14-8) .636%
15. Merrillville (20-12) .625%
16. HSE (18-13) .581%
16. North Central (18-13) .581%
18. Fishers (17-15) .531%
18. FW Snider (17-15) .531%
20. Ben Davis (19-17) .528%
21. Penn (16-16) .500%
21. Lake Central (16-16) .500%
23. Pike (14-17) .452%
24. Noblesville (13-18) .419%
25. Arsenal Tech (13-19) .406%
25. Perry Meridian (13-19) .406%
27. Lawrence Central (12-19) .387%
28. Portage (11-21) .344%
29. Avon (9-19) .321%
30. Franklin Central (10-22) .313%
31. Columbus East (9-20) .310%
32. Southport (7-21) .250%If I were to choose a top 3 for quality combined between the 2 sports I would most likely rank it:
1. Carmel
2. Center Grove
3. Westfield (slightly ahead of Lawrence North)
Warren Central: more than just a football powerhouse.

Warren Central's football stadium is called Warrior Stadium. I think it should be named for the late Larry Willen.

I think Warren Central will be the 6A champion next year. The Warriors return much of their team from their 4-6 season.
-
Kentucky has some good nicknames. Bowling Green High School is called the Purples. Trinity is the Shamrocks like Westfield. Warren Central (KY) has New Pal's nickname Dragons.

-
Warren Central's nickname used to be the Owls back when it first opened. The current name (Warriors) was adapted in 1926 for the boys basketball team. All of its teams adopted the Warriors moniker in the 1940s.
-
Let's not forget the PC moniker Warriors. Examples: Warren Central, Danville, Whiteland, Covenant Christian, Winamac, Woodlan, Wawasee, and a few others.

Warren Central loses 38-0 tonight. Great season Warriors. Turned out a little bit better than everyone thought. The Warriors finish 4-6 for the first time since 1997. Best of luck to the Center Grove Trojans next week and after. Warren Central losing means I'm going to be a lot less active here now. See you all next year.
Go Warriors!!!
-
Overlook Warren Central at your own risk people. The Warriors are getting better with each week. If they can keep the Center Grove offense out of the end zone and play great defense, I think Warren Central might have a chance to pull off a major upset of the Trojans.

I'm picking Ben Davis, Carmel in the biggest upset of the year, Lawrence North, and Warren Central to all win this week
