Can anyone verify the time for the Princeton at Tell City game?  I had a family member tell me 12:30 pm Friday.   I said surely not.

Indeed....can't be.  That was to be their homecoming and senior night.  It will have to be normal time.

IMO it’s wk #6, this season I’m not sure if any team has played back to back weeks without some sort of player loss due to Covid, injury or other causes.
if your team is NOT creating personnel depth  in practice up to 3&4 deep this season, then these things are devastating.
if you are then it just sucks but you can still play.
Earlier this week Boonville had already cancelled JV game vs Mt Vernon for Monday.
The goal this year was to create some normalcy for the kids by getting back in the classroom and on the field. Here we are week #6. I’m a fan that is so thankful to the Administrations and Coaching staffs that took the steps trying to make this happen.
Let’s keep it rolling and enjoy the games.

Indeed.  I don't think any of us thought we would be here in the season or even be in school.  It is great.

Princeton clarion article on the game says you guys are running an option offense?

is it still the wish/flex or is it something new?  I don’t think I’ve seen anyone or any news refer to heritage hills as an option team.

We run wishbone and flexbone and occasionally a pro set, but our main offense is technically an option offense.

Did you delete you other post where you were bashing your school's players?  I was gonna say a little harsh, eh??

SR with the running clock? Geez, not giving any credit to the 5-0 Marksmen?  I'm feeling a Raider win, by running clock might be a stretch.

I mean nothing against the Marksmen here.  They have a great team, probably the best team they have had in 30 years.  BUT, Southridge is playing at a level far higher.  Tell City has yet to play a point producing team, Southridge is battle proven.  Again, I'm not downplaying TC when I say that they probably won't score more than once.   With that said, I do think it will be the only game that Tell City looses and I think they will give Mater Dei a game in sectional, at least I hope they do.

  5. SR--DBs will pass the test, maybe--this will be close

HH--we are getting in the groove

    Boonvegas--Mockaboys running wild

    MV by 800

    Wash

    SS in a close one

TC by a bunch--Go Marksmen!  Got friends and family in TC, they are loving this...they need to enjoy it, because it may not last long.  I am loving it for them.

If they are only selling 2000 bleacher tickets then they are not selling anywhere close to full capacity. The new home stands hold around 1900  people. They there are stands at the south end of the field that seat 200 to 250. I don't now how many the visitors side holds but they were the former home side stands so they are bigger than most visitors stands in the conference. I would say that at 2000 bleacher tickets it is about 50% capacity.

I spoke to a Southridge coach that I work with and he said that capacity is right around 4000....indeed....50%.

Why not just go to capacity.  I am actually thinking of going to the SR/GS game.  We are only getting 250 tickets from NP and I don't want to take one from football/cheer family....mine graduated last year.

  7. Mockabee is likely the best athelete in Southern Indiana, and now the leading rusher in the NATION...at least for now.  BUT, I can't help but to think that the real story from last night is the fact that he did that but Brady and company still found a way to win.  That is impressive.

I wish they were both going to Purdue.

Coach Webb has done a great job with Tell City so far this year and I don’t see that changing anytime soon. The staff he has now is top notch and the players believe in them.

Hoping he doesn’t have to deal with any teachers/parents trying to undermine him during the season like in years past. That can hurt a team

Indeed.  Having a bunch of family/friends in Tell City that is what I hear all the time.  Tell City wants to go back to the success of years past--of course, who wouldn't, but they think they can get it in one year.  It takes time.

My father in law (who is 83) is always surprised to hear when Tell City is beat at anything, he always says, "Back in my day, nobody beat Tell City.  If you beat them, you have done something"  A little context--he played basketball for Chrisney High School.

I'm happy for Tell City, I hope they keep this going.  Great win Friday night, congrats.

By the way Eric Hendrickson (TC OC Coach) was mowing his grass this past weekend with his Marksman shirt on and a big smile on his face--he lives in Christmas lake village--gotta love that.

So if SR is 4 TDs better than TC does that make SR 9 TD's better than HH? Asking for a friend.

Well, as you know it doesn't work like that, but yeah....more or less.  We have a real mess to clean up if we are going to come out of this season with more than 3 wins.

Graduation happens every year and can't be the excuse.  'Rona can't be the excuse.  We lost a veteran coach can't be the excuse.  Excuses have to stop--find a way to win.

This is no excuse. Take nothing away from TC, they were physical and wanted the game......but you have to question what the HH AD was thinking here. A team loses 10 starters from last year, and is relatively young.  Then on game day, after 12 o’clock noon send four or five starting players home to quarantine, not to mention others. Why would you think it’s okay to send a team to play a varsity game at half strength?? It’s not fair to the coaches!  It’s not fair to those kids who didn’t get a weeks worth of #1 reps!  It’s not the best thing for Friday night lights!!  That said the HH youngsters never stopped playing.  Never quit.  AND learned a valuable lesson about what a Friday night is all about.

    Congrats TC on your win.
I’m over the whole Covid thing

This is an excellent point, but at the end, I still say play the game.  Run what you brung and find a way to win.

You guys graduated 21 of 22 or something and like everyone else were left without much of an offseason.  It will take some time and I’m sure the leadership will establish soon enough with the tough start. One of the kids will step up for the entire locker room soon enough

Yeah, but graduation happens every year.  Everyone got the same ridiculous offseason.  This is Patriot football, the expectation is higher than losing at the Jungle in your home opener and then getting blanked by TC.  I'm not a casual observer--I have poured quite a bit of time, blood, sweat and tears into this program over the years.   We need to do better.

Any truth to HH playing without some starters due to quarantine?  That score seems impossible.

Yes, we were down at least 4.  Stupid thing is, I don't think any of them actually had it, but were exposed.  I am tired of this nonsense.

As for HH football, that can't matter.  Suck it up, and find a way to win.  Don't hang your head.  I am not sure they ever had an intention to win.  Attitude is terrible right now.  This team needs a leader.

  13. FP will win by as many as they like

    NP by a few scores

HH by a few scores--we have to right the ship, things looked bad last week. This may be closer than many think.  Line problems, timing on pitches....all must be corrected this week (i could go on but not the purpose 🙂 )

MV by a bunch--offense is not great, but good.  Defense is really good

Pike Central and Tecumseh...this might be a good game.  I'll take Tecumseh

I hate to pick Boonville over my friends at SR...Boonville has some horsepower

Whiteland by as many as they like.  I would love to see a miracle here, but just ain't gonna happen.

Looks like it was the Ritzert kid who was an all stater for their defense last year. Impressive play for an offensive tackle lol

Indeed, that was the thing I noticed that #78 (78!!!) ran down a kid who is a track sprinter and pulled out an old Jay Cutler tomahawk from the late 90s.  That was impressive.  The kid was a highlight all night.....you would have thought they won state after the game, as half the team was crying tears of joy.

They earned that, and punched us square in the mouth.  We must get better.

Think about what you are all saying!  I hate to be the grim reaper, but there will eventually be no sports this fall.  Not that I agree with that notion, but it is for sure where we are headed.

I know what the schools are saying, but I got a buddy down in KY that says a school admin told him the KHSAA flat out lied about fall sports--he said there will be no fall sports in KY at all this fall.  I would be shocked if Indiana played a single game of football.

To receive full eligibility...I believe there has to at least be a change of residence for non-athletic reasons.  Otherwise there could be a limited eligibility situation where there would be a 365 day waiting period from the last time the player participated in his or her previous Indiana high school before being able to participate in Varsity athletics at the new school.  I will admit my knowledge about Indiana transfer rules is minimal at best.  There are a few on here who can chime in that know it quite well.

Unfortunately he isn't eligible to play until weeks into basketball season.  My understanding is that unless something changes he will NOT be playing football.  We could use him.  I did hear a rumor floating around that his mom was going to move up here, but I'm not sure why she would do that as she has other kids in school in Evansville.  Who knows....I never looked for him to play football, and frankly we don't need him in basketball, at least last season.  He would be nice to have in basketball next year, but we really need him on the football field.  My understanding is that he has an offer to play football at Missouri Baptist, not sure if that even still stands not playing your senior year.
