8/10 against the spread?!?!

Crawford County (+46) @ Mitchell (-46)- Mitchell played EG pretty close most the week. 46 feels like alot especially against a flexbone team but CC really struggling. Tecumseh(-62) @ Perry Central (+62)- Tecumseh seems improved and will have a date with SV coming up as a measuring stick. PC might win 1 or 2 more but not sure about this. Question is the spread. Again...feels like alot. Jennings County (+31) @ Springs Valley (-31)- spread honestly feels pretty close. Valley take advantage of the long road trip. Paoli(+28) @ West Washington (-28)- WW coach Lowery is 0-5 against his former team since his return to the PLAC. I wouldve been hard pressed to pick WW straight up....4 TDs makes this easy for me. This will be his best chance to steal one since his return. Brownstown (-62) @ North Harrison (+62)- Brownstown only scored 34 against Salem which seemed surprising. They may be ready to take some frustrations out. Ill trust the spread. Charlestown(-39) @ Providence (+39)- Providence has fallen apart this season after all those 1A runs. They may start kicking students out to lower the enrollment if they meet brownstown in sectionals. Charlestown beat em last year and both teams seem trending in opposite directions Corydon(-21) @ Clarksville (+21)- this one feels close. But I'm not sure Clarksville is ready. Corydon will be more battle tested and think the defense can keep em in check enough to cover Salem(-3) @ Madison (+3)- again I might be falling into my Salem trap but im going to keep picking the Lions this week. I swear eventually it'll pay off. Scottsburg (+7) @ Silver Creek(-7)- Scottsburg is 3-1 with offensive days of scoring 6, 13, and 9, but they have yet to surrender double digits on the year. Almost feel i should pick the burg but I'm a wuss Cloverdale (+4) @ North Daviess (-4) North Daviess hasn't played a team currently with a winning record. Cloverdale comes in at 3-1. I was tempted to take Cloverdale. This will be biggest test for ND defense to date.

It's early but I like my position in the rankings! This week give me North Daviess Eastern Greene North Central Linton. What has happened in Linton? Hard to believe they are 0-4. Feels like alot of points tho.

Welp the time you all been waiting for. Even all those readers who don't make profiles and join the convo! Time for my picks Crawford County @ South Decatur- I still can't believe Crawford got beat by Brown County the way they did. Ive said it a ton...I wish every PLAC team would be good. Would only help come tourny time. Unfortunately it might be an 0-10 season for the pack Mitchell @ Eastern Greene- Both teams are rebuilding. In the Southwest threat Mitchell was getting 32 pts! Not sure this is a blowout....but ill take the birds at home. Perry Central @ Paoli- PC ended its losing streak last week which was good to see. Paoli looked decent for about 1.5 Quarters against Valley last week. Not sure PC is ready to win this game. Paoli gets back on track after losing Orange Bowl for 2nd straight season. West Washington @ Springs Valley- This is basically the PLAC title match after the Blackhawks put it to Paoli. Shocked at amount of people picking the Senators in this one. Dont think the Run game is good enough and Valley is gonna run 4 dudes all night against em. WW gave up 37 to TC and i think Valley has a better O. WW may be better but not sure they are ready to win. Brownstown @ Salem- luckily for me I don't have to fall into the Salem trap this week. Brownstown JV may get Varsity time every game till....Semi St? Braves by whatever they want Corydon @ Scottsburg- Harrison County is struggling in football this season. I cant pick either one for possibly rest of the season. North Harrison @ Charlestown- See above? Kind of the same....only this one may get ugly. Silver Creek @ Madison- Closest game of the week? Might be. 2 things keep costing me. Believing in Salem....doubting Madison. Brownstown helped me this week. But I'm going against the cubs again! Why? I dunno.

Mitchell @ West Washington- WW seemingly is better and while I'm not sure it'll show up in end of season record I don't think Mitchell is ready to make this a game. They have opened up with 2 preseason top 10 1A teams. They struggled against Valley last week being down 64-8 at half before getting some points on JV. Paoli @ Springs Valley- i feel like the lone ranger at times when it comes to Valley being good. Maybe I'm wrong, but I'd still bet my money on running table until regionals at least. I get PLAC is not great but doesn't mean Valley isn't a good team. Paoli lack of depth will struggle in heat and Valley will run 4 to 5 guys at ya all night. Perry Central @ Crawford County- Perry has a top 10 losing streak in state dating back to 2024. They are young. Crawford did something I thought was a shocker in losing to Brown County. Gimme PC to get of the snide and out of the basement of PLAC. Charlestown @ Madison- i feel like i keep doubting madison and losing. So I'm gonna triple down. Charlestown took it on chin against the Braves and won't let that happen again. Floyd Central @ Silver Creek- feels like over the years we've talked about SC joining HHC at times just out of boredom. Floyd has it together. Great team. SC ain't ready for em. Might be a running clock after halftime. New Albany @ Brownstown- The bulldogs pulled off what everyone thought was a big upset in week 1 against providence. Then got it handed to em by Lutheran. Maybe Providence just isn't good anymore. Heck they may start kicking kids out to get back to 1A! The Braves continue to roll as they will for rest of regular season. It's a split for the MSC vs HHC. North Harrison @ Corydon- Corydon losing to Paoli surprised me. I'll be even more shocked if they lose against the County rival. Loser finishes in basement? Maybe. Get it together Harrison County! Salem @ Scottsburg- the week 1 beating of North Harrison doesn't quite look as impressive. But Salem has a boatload of seniors who have played alot of Varsity. Maybe im overrating the Lions but i think they are pretty good. slightly off topic but i was browsing the facebook while waiting for daughter to get out of cheer and seen Henryville football page. Think they do a great job promoting the team. Post-game stats, meet the players, and updates across all levels and seemingly win or lose. Hope it really sticks for them.
