Should be a good test against linton. Wonder why ND and WW don't play in Jr high. WW made the trip to North Decatur Saturday. Heck of trip for JR high game.

North Putnam North Knox North Daviess Castle Hopefully Harrell gets his predictions going so we can use spread

Corydon @ Paoli- I'll take the panthers here. Gave them some trouble last year and return alot. Paoli hasn't started 0-2 since 2016. Crawford County vs Brown County- CC has done a better job of late. While I don't know what this years squad holds i seen BC in summer. Ill take the Pack and root for Stroud to keep building momentum in the building Forest Park @ Perry Central- Last week FP avenged a 44 pt loss against MT Vernon Posey. That's quite a swing. Perry again is young and may need another year. Mitchell @ Springs Valley- The Blackhawks hung tight with Edgewood until the 4th. I still believe theyre the team in the PLAC. LCC then Valley is a tough start for the Blue Jackets. Back to back preseason top 10 1A teams and SV will be looking to let some frustrations out. West Washington @ Tell City- I'm still not a believer in WW. Maybe I'm just a pessimist. This will be a better measuring stick then Pekin. TC is usually tough physical team and WW will have to match it and not turn ball over if they wanna win. Charlestown @ Brownstown- Game of the Week here. Brownstown replacing so much made me wanna pick the Pirates but ive learned to not bet against Reed May. Home opener. Place will be killer environment. Madison @ Jennings County- I missed both these teams winning last week so obviously I'm a dummy. So instead of taking the home team like I normally do when I know nothing I'll do the opposite. Salem @ Silver Creek- I really like Salems RB Dent. He's very underrated and been on some bad teams. Pennington has done so good at Salem in such a short time. Salem is SR heavy and coming off a 35-0 win over a NH team they lost to the previous year. I think they are good and should only get better as year goes. Scottsburg @ North Harrison- last week scottsburg scored 6 (fewest since week 3 of 2022) and North Harrison got shutout. It could be an ugly game. Or they both score 40. The losing team will be 0-2 in conference in looking at a long season. Ill take the warriors.

If ya need me I can do 1-3A -
Just seen injuries in Paoli game has caused paoli to cancel JV Monday against Jennings County. Hopefully Paolis numbers aren't that bad and they can get some in. On other hand if you're looking for a JV may call Jennings County.

WW beating Pekin 49-6 Springs Valley leads Edgewood 8-7 half Paoli up 13-7

Don't worry Boys..defending champ is back! Our conference is a little lighter as @JQWL has moved out and @btownqbcoach has been MIA. But time for some picks after the 47 seconds of research I did. Eastern at West Washington- Watched the Pekin scrimmage against Valley last week. I still like the RB for Pekin alot (Martin). Just a sophomore. Big kid and the new offense will suit him well. WW lost their QB to Floyd Central right before season started. They do return some experience on both sides. Both teams enter fairly young. Ill take WW at home but time will tell if they take a step forward or continue the .500ish trend. Jennings County @ Paoli- Paoli has a new coach and i truly have 0 idea what thier style is gonna be. Jennings County is trying to rebuild. Heck of a drive and Jennings County will travel to Orange County twice this season. Ill take the Rams and assume Justin Thorton has 3+ TDs. LCC @ Mitchell- Props to Mitchell for taking this game. Watched em over the summer and think the coach has them in a better spot but LCC is one heck of a start. Springs Valley @ Edgewood- another long haul drive. Ive said for a few years i think this will be SVs best team and now that providence is gone could this be the only test all season and possible to regionals? Maybe. Their D played lights out in scrimmage. O looked good. New guys at Key positions but the lines on both sides will help ease that transition. Edgewood shocked the future 1A champs last season. Not sure of their returning players but gimmie the Blackhawks who have a boatload of talent. Tell City @ Perry Central- A little Rivalry to start the year is fun. Perry is young and probably not ready yet. But you gotta hope we see signs of life in Leopold after last season. Hopefully they show an upward trend as they move on throughout the season Switzerland County @ Crawford County- Crawford showed a ton of growth and number improvement last season. Coach Stroud has been great, but they did lose alot of seniors and honestly...I hate the flexbone. Hopefully the continue to build but give me SC after their breakout last season too. Brownstown @ Corydon- The Braves finally broke through and hit lucas and lost a heartbreaker. They too lost alot but over the years that never seems to matter. Betting against the braves feels like a gamble....and i do love gambling....but not that much. Good luck Panthers but i cant put your name in bold this week. North Harrison @ Salem- Pennington did one hell of a job for as late as he got it last year. I'd like to image a full offseason of implementing his plan will only help. Dent is a monster at RB. Gimmie the Lions. Scottsburg @ Madison- Welcome to the MSC Madison. Luckily you don't start the conference off against Braves or Pirates. And you get it at home. This one feels like hardest to pick (as I know next to nothing about both) but ill take the Warriors in a close one. Silver Creek @ Charlestown- Creeks new coach gets to start but traveling down the road to a conference bitter rival. A hell of a way to introduce yourself. I'm sure they will greet you politely.

Watched Mitchell in a 7 on 7 (granted it was against Brown County) but like thier scheme. I saw mostly pistol concepts with some shotgun mix. Alot of spread concepts. Was different. See if it translates to wins.

Clarksville is there too. A jamboree!

WW is at North Harrison i believe Valley at Pekin Mitchell scrimmages Salem. Can't remember where.

Carroll - Potential Week 3 Opponents

Im not the brightest but why aren't they just playing each other? And maybe they are later in season. I legit was just curious. -
Should be a good regional game. Springs Valley should finally break through now that Providence is out of the way.

Societal rantings from an old man
WWFan replied to Impartial_Observer's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
100%. While alot of this is focused on travel ball its at every youth level. Even when its just a Jr High game....like nobody is gonna remember or care who won 7th grade conference in 10 years. I've said it before as I watch more and more youth sports that alot of times I feel some (not all) coach to win rather then coach to develop and prepare for sports at high school level -
24 yrs old. Assistant at Bloomington North last year working with DBs. Played at Hanover. Curious what kind of style he brings to paoli. Good luck to him. They also hired Scott Combs as basketball head coach tonight.
-
I've heard tonight will be the night
-
Yea. Shocking when it first leaked out. Alot of staff going. They seemingly having a hard time getting a football coach and now gotta replace the basketball coach of 15 years. Alot of uncertainty heading into the summer.
-
Curious how they choose sectional numbers. Most teams from 48 remained minus some changes. But most of formerly 45 is now 47....and all the teams from 47 went to 46. They just try base them on location? I understand teams move up and down and such but seems odd to basically move and entire sectional to a different number.

I meant to post about this but board was down. Waiting on paolis final answer now. ND had some decent success last few years. Hopefully he hangs around and builds it up. Starting off against LCC is a heck of a way to kick off your HC Career.
