It was a little bit of both, if they wanted to play on Saturday, it would be a late start time, but they also wanted to keep their practice routine the same too

However, Boonville shocked Reitz to beat the SIAC champs 28-27 and send some shockwaves across Southern Indiana. This victory would create some massive momentum for the Panthers. Memorial would go on to survive Jasper, 21-18 in a crazy last 8 minutes of the game. Memorial at Boonville, or known as Boonvegas, was suspected to be an intriguing matchup, as Boonville was much improved from last year. From the get-go, Boonville showed a lot of promise in their opening drive, as they converted some crucial downs and drove straight down the Memorial 30. But, Memorial’s ferocious defense stopped the Pioneers on a 4th and 13th to take it over on downs. Memorial would soon drive straight down the field to score from a 10-yard TD by RB Rode to make it 7-0 at the end of the 1Q. Memorial would get another quick stop against the Pioneer O and Memorial drove straight to the Boonville 2. However, some miscues happen and Memorial would settle on an FG to make it 10-0 around the 6:50 minute mark in the 2Q. Boonville would use the next 6 minutes to drive all the way down inside the Memorial 15. Memorial would intercept Boonville QB Conner in the EZ and DB Mcguire would run 70 yards down to the Boonville 30. But, Memorial would be called for defensive pass interference (on a tipped ball), to give Boonville another play at the Memorial 6. 1 play and 1 pick, as DB Draper would intercept the ball to stop Boonville and knee it down for Memorial to take the lead 10-0 at the half. Memorial would receive the ball in the 2nd half, and it would exactly take 18 seconds for Memorial to score again. As Memorial QB Fisher would throw a pass to WR C. Ellspermann ran 73 yards to the house to make 17-0 Memorial 11:42 in the 3Q. However, Boonville would respond on a long drive, as Boonville QB Conner would score 2 yards out to make it 17-7 Memorial 5:34 3Q. Memorial would take over the remaining time off on a drive on their own and would reach inside the Boonville 14, but a holding call and a no gain on the next play would force a Memorial FG to make it 20-7 Memorial 11:37 4Q. Memorial would kickoff back to Boonville, however, Boonville players would not touch the ball on the receiving kickoff and Memorial’s Broshears would recover it on the Boonville 28. While some Boonville players were arguing that they didn’t touch the ball, the kicking team can recover if it goes 10 yards out, which is why Memorial got the ball back. A couple of plays later, RB Rode would score 21 yards out to make it 27-7 Memorial with 10 minutes left in the game and firmly in the driving seat. However, Boonville would score in less than 2 minutes, after a long pass and long run from QB Conner to make it 27-14 Tigers at 7:47 in the 4Q. But the Tigers would take the next 3 minutes to put the nail in the coffin, as FB Johnson would score from 3 yards out to make it 33-14 Memorial with 4:15 left in the game. Boonville would get the ball back, but with no more timeouts, it would be a miracle for the Pioneers to come back, however back to back sacks and turnover downs would end the game. As Memorial would kneel the final 2 minutes of the game to win their 2nd straight sectional championship and 6th one in 7 years. Memorial QB Fisher would go for 10/13 for 210 yards and 1 TD, RB Rode would go for 132 yards and 2 TDs and WR C. Ellspermann would finish with 119 yards/ 1TD. Defensively, Memorial dominated the LOS, as the Tigers would record 3 sacks and 8 TFLs. LB Broshears would lead the Tigers with 14 tackles followed by solid performances by DT Farmer (9), LB Johnson (9), and DE Collins (7). Tigers would soon quickly find out that they would go against East Central at Enlow for the 2nd straight year on a Friday night. Could this become a Regional Rivalry if Memorial continues to stay in 4A? Should be a great game come Friday night, as Enlow will be packed and rocking early, however, a Memorial win would send the Tigers to either Roncalli or New Pal in the SS.

Technically no, because of Shortridge did not have enough seating. But if you really want to project it, if Roncalli wins and Memorial wins, Roncalli will host Memorial in the SS, making it 5 straight home games. There is a rumor on the FB page saying Roncalli has to travel for SS, take it with a grain of salt
