Something similar was done back in the late 80's/early 90's. I believe it was the All-SIAC team vs a PAC/Big 8 all star team.
2003-04 there was an East-West All-Star Game in May played at the Reitz Bowl. I played on the East with some teammates and friends. Hart led the West to a victory. I've been meaning to digitize the game film.

It is seemingly tied with the server restart.
I'll do some digging and hope to have it back soon.

I would disagree to an extent. If a HS with 3 feeder schools has kids running the same system with similar schemes and terminology, they would have a tremendous advantage as their incoming freshmen would have 3 starting QBs, 3-6 starting RBs and 15-20 starting linemen. That's competition for spots and in theory that should make your team better.
It can be a detriment if you have coaches that don't teach fundamentals, don't run similar systems and don't work to build numbers on the team. Then you start over when they are freshmen.
I think there's a point at which enrollment reaches a point that its returns are diminishing. Only 11 or 22 guys can be one the field "at once." At some point you are spending more time on backups and participation than on the starters.

For the past 6-7 years, the Carmel middle schools have struggled with numbers. There is some talent on those teams, but it's hard to fathom a district that large with 3 middle schools and they don't have enough players to play a B game. They also all run whatever they choose as far as offense and defense, so they aren't building a good foundation. You would think Westfield with 1 middle school would be at a disadvantage, but apparently it works for them, especially when everyone is running the same system through all of their levels.
I would always think that a HS with one feeder is at an advantage because it's easier for the HC to have an influence.

No, seriously I think Carmel may actually have gotten too big for itself.
The fanbase seems disinterested and the disconnect between the football program and fan attendance shows.
I joked that they may have gotten bored with winning but that was sort of tongue-in-cheek.
As far as SES, is there a point where it is actually too low, which hurts a sport like football that depends on a certain type of player?
Carmel set a home attendance record during homecoming this year, I believe. Does that not reflect program support/interest?

A concrete example is 2001... Jasper won 4A but was beaten by 3A Heritage Hills. The Patriots only lost one game 2000-2001, a semistate loss to Chatard in 2001.

There seems to be very little talk of clear cut Mr Football candidate favorites so far. In this case, should we even give out the award in 2022?
I posted this on Twitter last week:
After being solicited, here were some of the players mentioned:
Hansen (Roncalli)
Ringer (East Central)
Bowen (Andrean)
Tibbs (Cathedral)
Lambert (FW Northside)

You don't really get time to install an offensive or defensive system prior to an all-star game. It's really just some vanilla concepts and you hope everyone knows where the ball is going. Things like blocking schemes and reads don't get developed.
