Anytime Cox's balls set me up to play a mercy rule scrimmage while the next opponent survives a dogfight, I like that set up. Injuries, attrition, anything I would consider is probably in my favor.
Cox's wut?

Q
Yes. 1 point for each postseason championship won. 6 points in a two year cycle = bump
1 point for being a Cheatin' Catholic (tm)

Linton looked like they never got off the bus, respectfully. Mistakes, blown assignments, fumbles, alignment issues. I think they took that Dramamine.

I’m sure there are some teams down in the Indy area that are pretty darn good. I should have been more clear and said “one of the best” but I feel as a whole NE Indiana puts out better skill position players than any other corner of the state. That’s just my opinion.
I assume the 7-on-7 scene is split between many organizations and tournaments so determining the best isn't the easiest?

So, we don’t talk football on these threads anymore, we talk travel and marathons… Yep
I mean we are talking about Hamilton County. What did you expect. So unfortunate that the state finals will cut into snow skiing time in Vail. Fortunately the private jet will take us straight from the Speedway airport to Colorado so we don't miss hot tubbing and Sunday brunch in the mountains!

If you posed the question to me, my answer would be based on the results of our 7v7 teams nationally. The teams from FW are tops in Indiana year in and year out.
I thought Gibson Southern was the 7-on-7 Indiana Champions of the Universe? @Titan32
Also, aren't there some next level 7-on-7 teams based in Hamilton/Marion counties?

Can someone briefly disclose the rationale for creation of 6A? I think this dates back over 10 years now and had to do pretty much with the growth of the mega schools (i.e. significant number of schools above 3,000 enrollment). I just have a feeling there is more to it than that...

My wifes college roommate was from Linton, I can unequivocally state without a shadow of a doubt you are describing Linton style muffins on #1.
Regarding #2, I was wondering how you were able to post here because as a general rule Dentist appear before Telecom, doesn't seem to be the case in Linton (please refer to #1).
Fan of your wife's friend's "muffins". OK...
What flavor?

What's an "athlete." Seems like some slang/jargon of yesteryear.

That's a whole lot of *ss-kicking for some 1A schools. That would potentially pit schools like Clinton Prairie against schools like Tri-West or Concordia. While West Lafayette vs. Merrillville and Chatard vs. Whiteland certainly sounds intriguing, Peru vs. Snider sounds downright dangerous.
Convince me.
Who cares about Class A?!? Give them a championship game every 3-4 years in this proposal!

Teams 2A-3A and 3A-5A are way too similar competitively. Hear me out.
A: Smallest 32 or less schools
2A: Bottom half remaining (add a week to the tournament)
3A: Top half remaining (add a week to the tournament)
4A Largest 32 or less schools
That's it. Too many championships are being given out. The final rounds of these tournaments would be amazing.
Prove me wrong.

Amen and well said. Glad to hear you are doing well kingtut. Any school would be lucky to have a supporter as loyal and knowledgeable as you.
Have Memorial and Linton every played in any of the big three sports -- football, basketball, or baseball?

It could be the explanation for why 3 of the 4 teams left in 2A are Catholic schools if I'm not mistaken. Could just be a coincidence tho.

Does this term apply to the all Catholic schools or just Luers??
I think you know the answer if you just think real hard about it.

Go read the 2A thread, Luers is hardly mentioned
Because they're Cheatin' Catholics!

I'll be making an appearance at The Bowl on Friday.
PM me for VIP access.

Well @HereComesTheBoom I guess there is an outside shot you overtake @LC_Bears_04 if they advance to the state finals and you go at least 3-1.
Get your picks in!
Whiteland at Castle [+13.5]
Linton at Mater Dei [-5.5]- 1

***IF*** Roncalli were to run the table here, where does this team stack up in the Parthenon of Rebel teams? And yes I said Rebel teams, no Royal football titles yet. Lysander you’re one of the more Indy Catholic league in the know than most, what about the Roncalli faithful, what say you?
Definitely below @The TW all-stars of last century. TW was just too nasty for kids these days. One ugly SOB.

Damn, its down to 30 minutes now? No one is safe.
Give 'em all Dramamine and see what type of product shows up on the field.
Just now, Irishman said:I found this interesting. The Chargers have played inspired football this season after suddenly losing a teammate during the off season. Best of luck to both teams, but being in the area, I am rooting for the Chargers.
You believe in number theory? What about color theory?

Play the IU-Purdue Game on Thursday Night. The only TV competition would be the Egg bowl and usually a bad NFL game.
The main draw of the Bucket Game is tailgating ... one can't just simply have good tailgates on Thursdays!

I think folks are OK giving up one Saturday of college football for the state championships, but I wonder how two consecutive Saturdays would be met ... and this weekend before Thanksgiving definitely contains some of the make-or-break games in the college conferences and sometimes for the playoff considerations.
What do you mean "two consecutive Saturdays?"

Eh, good for those just following Indiana HS football. I like having Indiana on Friday and Ohio on Saturday if it works out that way. Don't forget college football on Saturdays as well for fans as well as officials. Sorta wish the IHSAA would make the 1-3A finals permanently on Friday instead of flopping back & forth or the notion of waiting to see where the participating schools are from.
It's a little strange that the two biggest football "events" in Indiana are on the same day -- The Bucket Game and the HS State Finals. I'm not sure of a way around it though. I liked it better when IU-PU played during the semistate weekend.
Should I watch the game in person, or on IHSAATV.ORG?

I was remarking this about the wind but everyone down at the Bowl was too soft and literally crying on the field about yesterday's "cold."
