  1. Down year, or not, for 5A last year...DC will be pound for pound one of the best 25 teams in the state this year...and I think it will be closer to best 10-15 teams in the state.
  2. I'd sneak Decatur Central in on that list. They bring back everyone from a 5A State Championship team. Multiple D1 kids. I would take them over 21-25 and probably a few others listed.
  3. Brownsburg @ Franklin Central: Brownsburg seems to have reloaded and I was definitely wrong on them. FC is building a solid program and should give the dogs a solid test. Brownsburg 31-24 Hamilton Southeastern @ Avon: Huge win for Avon last week. Coach Gibson has some buy in from a program that we knew had the talent. This will be a big test to see how they stack up. HSE 35-28 Noblesville @ Fishers: Noblesville is another HCC team that seems to be heading in the right direction. I don't think they get Fishers this time. Fishers 38-21 Zionsville @ Westfield: Westfield proves it has no issues with the departure of Gilbert. They will be hard to beat this year. Westfield 35-10
  4. Avon proves it can hang. I was thrown off after week 1 results, but did expect them to be much improved. I have been proven completely wrong on Brownsburg for writing them off. All John Hart does is win. The HCC is going to be a fun conference this year. Coach Gibson will keep Avon punching with the best of them. I was excited to see that win.
  5. Ben Davis @ Avon: BD will be too much to handle. BD 38-17 Brownsburg @ Cathedral: Brownsburg looked good against an inferior opponent. I still am expecting a little bit of a "down year" for the Bulldogs. Cathedral 31-21 Carmel @ Westfield: Westfield 31-24 Franklin Central @ Roncalli: It was only a matter of time until West turned the program around. They continue to get better and will be a real test for CG come sectional time. FC 38-27 Lawrence Central @ Zionsville: LC 42-28 Noblesville @ Homestead: Noblesville 24-21 North Central @ Hamilton Southeastern: HSE will handle this one early. HSE 49-14 Pike @ Fishers: Fishers 38-24
  6. Week 2 is upon us Whiteland (1-0) @ Kokomo- Whiteland gets through week 1 with a win. They'll get to 2-0. Whiteland 35-17 DC (0-1) @ New Pal- I think a few people were shocked at the score from last week. Their schedule doesn't get easier this week. Will they bounce back? New Pal 34-28 Bloomington South @ Martinsville (1-0)- Dominate week 1 win over a lesser opponent. They'll get tested this week. BS 35-27 Indian Creek @ Greenwood (0-1)- Appears the offensive firepower is gone from last year. They may struggle this year. Greenwood 21-13 Southport @ Perry Meridan (0-1)- Looks to be another long year for Perry. Southport 31-24 Terre Haute N @ Mooresville (1-0)- Nice win last week for the Pioneers. They should handle business this week. Mooresville 38-21 Plainfield (1-0) @ Harrison- Harrison will be too much to handle this year for a younger Plainfield squad. Harrison 31-17 Mt Vernon @ Franklin (1-0)- First real test for Franklin. Franklin 28-24
  7. Cameron Gorin, Hamilton Southeastern , Offensive Tackle (247sports.com) Mason Alexander, Hamilton Southeastern , Cornerback (247sports.com) Schools of their size can generally reload. They do have 2 of the top 10 recruits in the state of Indiana this year.
  8. Pre-Season Mid State Power Rankings 1. DC 2. Whiteland 3. Martinsville 4. Franklin 5. Plainfield 6. Mooresville 7. Greenwood 8. Perry I don't anticipate anyone giving DC a struggle this year in the mid-state, but I guess it is why you play the games. Week 1: Columbus North @ DC- DC has a great out of conference schedule that will prepare them for a trip back to LOS. CN will give them a great opening test. DC 35-27 Terre Haute South @ Plainfield- Plainfield loses a lot of key pieces and it will be interesting to see who steps up for them. They should be able to handle THS to begin the year. Plainfield 21-17 Bloomington North @ Mooresville- Another team who lost a lot of talent. Bloomington North will give them a tough test to start the year. BN 31-24 Seymour @ Greenwood- One of the most electric offenses in the state last year, Greenwood looks to reload. They will handle Seymour- Greenwood 38-17 PM @ FC- Perry still looking to find its way. FC 42-17 Martinsville @ Bedford North Lawrence- Martinsville shocked a lot of people last year by winning the Mid-State. Martinsville 24-21 Franklin @ New Albany- Don't see this one being close. Franklin 42-7 Jeffersonville @ Whiteland- Can Whiteland compete for a title this year? I anticipate them being the team who could give DC a run it. Whiteland 45-10
  9. Avon @ Lafayette Jefferson: I think Avon surprises some people this year. Avon 31-17 Fishers @ North Central (Indianapolis): Fishers wins 42-14 Fort Wayne Dwenger @ Brownsburg: Expecting a down year from Brownsburg...The good news for the Bulldogs is their down seasons are still better than most. Don't see this one being close. Brownsburg wins 42-13 Hamilton Southeastern @ Carroll (Fort Wayne): HSE has the talent to win it all this year, or at least to represent the North. HSE 28-17. Mount Vernon (Fortville) @ Noblesville: Noblesville seems to be loading up some talent that isn't normal for them. Expect them to compete in the HCC this year and win a couple of games they normally wouldn't. Noblesville 28-10 Perry Meridian @ Franklin Central: FC 42-24 Westfield @ Center Grove: Westfield continues to produce talent, and CG is still CG. CG 28-24 Zionsville @ Pike: Tough game to pick. I'll take Pike to win a close one 28-24 MY HCC Preseason Power Rankings 1. HSE 2. Westfield 3. Fishers 4. Brownsburg 5. Avon 6. FC 7.Noblesville 8. Zionsville
  10. Not sure I see Brownsburg in the top 10 this year unless they had some young talent that I am not aware of? I guess even for a down year they still end up in the 5-15 range.
  11. Give me the 2006 Warren Central team over any HS football team to ever play in the state of Indiana.
  12. Great lines...I do think either BD or Warren wins state this year for 6A
