Get in meeting #6 that date, or do my second career game at a school with only one official currently scheduled?  Two days away.

As a first year ref, who won't do varsity since I keep stats for EN, the odds of me doing the state tournament this year is slim to none.

That’s not why meeting attendance is important. At your stage, I think association meetings are more important than working a middle school game with one other official. Learn the right way first, rather than having to later unlearn bad habits you might pick up working such games without at least one experienced official who can “mentor” you during the game.

I will add though you are not required to attend meetings for tournament eligibility. That requirement only exists for crew ratings. As Bob stated though, meeting attendance is important for learning purposes. I do think working snaps though is equally important especially the middle school snaps for a new official. That's where the weird stuff happens that helps you learn the rules even better.

Thank you.

I could have worked a 5 game set on Saturday for 6th graders (they're still looking).  But instead I went for the Unified.  Granted starting out on both Unified and regular on my first year with first game being one and second game being another is yet another way to confuse me.

My son was a Unified partner and I like working with the crowd.
