GOLDRUSH1985 Posted October 7, 2024 Posted October 7, 2024 Elkhart New Prairie - (Prove me Wrong Penn ) Riley St Joe Quote
Rocket Posted October 7, 2024 Posted October 7, 2024 Marian @ Elkhart- The knights should be able to make this an interesting game but I think Elkhart’s defense will prove to be the difference maker in this one. Penn @ NP- not really sure what to think of this one. The cougars line has improved a little since earlier in the season but don’t know if it’s enough yet. I think this could be a rather low scoring game that comes down to who plays more disciplined football. Not ready to make a prediction just yet. Riley @ Adams- something tells me Adams takes this one. Washington @ St Joe- the huskies offense is not that good but should be good enough to handle the panthers rather easily. Quote

Penn and New Prairie appear to be pretty even on paper . Penn never seams to play well at NP . Advantage NP and the reason they will probably win this game. Quote
Rocket Posted October 9, 2024 Posted October 9, 2024 Can any Penn fans give a rundown on the kingsmen? What do they do well on offense and what’s their weaknesses on defense? Quote
ASJCPUMA Posted October 9, 2024 Author Posted October 9, 2024 Will Elkhart be ready after the big game at Penn? Big test for the new coach. Nothing would surprise me if Marian comes out on top Penn does not do well at NP. This could be a close game. Another defensive battle? Or will NP find their running game? Not impressed with Riley. Adams scoring 48 on Washington not a game changer for me. Maybe Riley defense wins this one. St. Joe - will the O come to play the full game? Washington is winless and struggeling. Quote

npcougar15 Posted October 11, 2024 Posted October 11, 2024 Marian @ Elkhart- I think this is a close game for 2 maybe 3 quarters. Marian is way better than their record indicates. Competitive losses to Penn, Mishawaka, New Prairie, and a 6-1 CMA team will go a long way come post season for the knights. I look for another respectable loss tonight for the knights. Penn @ NP- This one seems more and more like a toss up the more I think about it. That St. Joe game is the only thing keeping me from not picking the cougars. This game will depend on how well NP can move and score the ball tonight. If they can get to 21 points, I'm feeling pretty good. Riley @ Adams- Fly high Eagles, fly high Washington @ St Joe- Not sure Washington scores in this game. I'm more intrigued if St. Joe can score enough to get a running clock Quote

I'm sure Cory knew the cupboard was going to be bare this year , perfect time to retire . We will know much more in the next couple seasons . 1 Quote
ASJCPUMA Posted October 12, 2024 Author Posted October 12, 2024 St Joe 49 Washington 0. Running clock second half. The Panthers are not very good Adams 7 RIley 6. The weak schedule is now showing the Cats are not what they were playing weaker competition Penn beat NP Elkhart shuts out Marian Quote
BLACKGOLD2007 Posted October 12, 2024 Posted October 12, 2024 Well I will say I was surprised Penn won the game by double digits. I figured the D would play well, but the O I gave up on. Wont be at the St. Joe game, we are going to watch a real life murdering of Purdue next Friday night. Then a week off to consider going to the playoff game...If Penn draws CP...I hope they play at CP, so I have a built in excuse to not go. Sad state of affairs being a Penn fan. Quote

In the last 2 games , the Penn offense has only scored 20 points . If Penn does draw CP , It will be ugly wherever the game is played . Quote

Well Oregon could have a big letdown after Ohio St. Not really surprised with Penn winning. NP has the running QB and RB but passing game very suspect based on what I saw when we were there. Nice club could make a run in 4 A Quote

Solid run game with a subpar passing is the cougars MO this year. With a QB that is one of the best baseball players in the state you would think it would be better than average, but it's not. Some of it has to do with the routes, it's either a homerun or nothing. No short yard chunk plays for easy completions and loosening up the defense to open up the run. But I will say the NP/Penn game was more competitive than the final score indicated. Haven't looked at the box score but I'm pretty sure the total yards, first downs, etc. were pretty darn similar. NP couldn't finish their drives while Penn put together about 2-3 good drives and got into the end zone, The pick 6 to go up 14-7 going into halftime was demoralizing and changed the game. But I do think NP has the defense to make a run in 4A. Competitive losses to Elkhart & Penn aren't going to hurt come playoff time, but that offensive performance against our Huskies was embarrassing and just looms in the back of my head.... Quote
