Inadvertent whistle classic example

Question

Posted

Leo at Columbia City.

Leo 18 CC 15.  Last down of the game.  CC 4th down.  CC goes for field goal to tie.  Kick is blocked.  Leo starts celebrating.  CC player picks up the ball and runs it in.  However an official had inadvertently whistled the play dead.  Do over.  CC decides to forego the kick to tie and goes for the win.  And does.  Leo is madder than a wet hen - their point is that if the play wasn't blown dead they might have stopped the initial goal on the kick try.

Right call?

This was already discussed at length on the main forum. It is actually a lone topic. The gist is the white hat blew the whistle after the block. The play is dead at that point. Because it was a loose ball at the time of the whistle, the down is replayed. Everything that happened after the IA was correctly handled.

What "main forum" are you talking about?  The one immediately above this one "The Indiana High School Football Forum" has nothing related to this that I see.  Perhaps there is some magic code/sort/etc that I have to pick?

This Officiating Forum is actually a sub forum of it.

And here is the topic I referred to.

Ok, it's there but the sort is terrible.  I tried Start Date and Updated date and neither one seems to be in order.  I stopped trying to process that forum and it looked like the most recent posts were from 2022.  But that perception was just based on the sorting just not making any sense to me.

No ‘sorting’ is even needed. Just tap the link @irishman provided. The thread is right there. If you want to look at the list of topics, click “go to topic listing” at the bottom of the page. If you want to see all the Forums, click the football helmet at the top of this page. It’s pretty simple to use the site

Granted I could use that direct link,

Anyway I think I have the sort figured out.  The first 3 or 4 posts must be "pinned" to appear at the top.  Makes sense for most like "Don't be a jerk" kind of stuff.  After the first few the sort makes more sense.  One of the pinned ones seems out of place.

Thank you for your patience.
