These are not "professional" refs, yes, I know they have some training but I assume they do this for love of game and a bit of extra spending money. If this was a full time, career type paying position, maybe more accountability would be good, but at the "just about volunteering" level to officiate a game and not a full time job, there will be some bad calls.
