I support co-ops. I'm not sure how you would regulate them though. For example, if Tell City, Perry Central, and Cannelton (no football team) wanted to co-op, what's to stop Crawford County and South Spencer from joining? Maybe that's OK. I'm not sure. Would you classify them just with total combined enrollment?

They should put a GIANT sausage where the center stripe usually goes on the crown of the helmet.

"Burned wieners" *yawn*, that's an old trope for Frankfort residents. Try something more original next time. As for the helmets I really don't know, they seem to change them like every other year now. I may be able to tell you after Friday's home opener, if I go.

When did teams start switching to black chinstraps. So far, I'd say about 75 percent of helmets have black chinstraps. Maybe I'm old school, but we only had white. -

This is just here in Indiana: https://www.indystar.com/story/news/crime/2026/08/20/impd-officer-suspended-over-flock-camera-misuse-what-we-know-indianapolis-alpr-misconduct-plate/91303397007/ While it is heartening to see more and more municipalities cancel their contracts with Flock or decline to use ALPR's altogether, the proverbial Pandora's box has already been opened. And no amount of "internal controls" by law enforcement agencies will close it. It will ultimately be like the fox guarding the hen house, and the public is the hens.

South Newton High School announces move to 8-man football the upcoming season: https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/south-newton-set-play-8-160042214.html It's clear that traditional 11-man football is slowly dying in Indiana's rural areas, growth in that area is neutral at best. And frankly a watered down 8-man version of the sport isn't the long term answer. Co-ops are.

Maybe recreational youth and some high school, but competitive youth and high school flag and college flag are similar to tackle. Some of that is because you'll work more games in a day which is physically taxing. You may be on your feet 4-6 hours, and you have fewer officials covering the field. I've got Flag on Saturday, 4 games, 5+ hours, 3 officials, and the games are fast-paced.
