Amazing show, and not to detract, but is widely why TV got into the “filmmaking” style of tv shows. I always understood that to mean how much effort and creativity show runners put into making the weekly episodes.1 point

Remember, there was a 3 year gap between those two. The new AD at Notre Dame at that time pushed him out. But part of the decision was that Lou did not want to pass Rockne in all time wins. There were two games left in the season when he did step down. He worked in TV for a couple of years before South Carolina contacted him. It was my impression when he left South Bend that he was just retiring.1 point

One thing that occurred to me. It’s unlikely any of those students were alive when Coach Lou coached his last game at Notre Dame in 1996. Yet, they turned out.
