  1. Your first five points can be completely negated when you have defensive linemen/linebackers in your back field causing havoc, and in the grill of your QB all night long. The Wolves offense is clicking pretty good right now and obviously able to put up points. NV's offense is no slouch here either. I don't see this being a blowout either way. Still taking NV in a close one.
  2. Eh, I'd like to think there's more here rooting for ya than against ya. Besides, it's not your fault you're in Knox county, but you're still our neighbors! 😛 In hindsight, I can't even say I'm biased here. I was actually born in Evansville and lived there a little bit as a toddler, but thankfully it was before I started elementary school at Linton so that I could have the good sense of football ingrained in me from whatever came out of the water fountain.
  3. Aaaaah. You said the 2 things, and made the 1 thing out of whoever does the best at the 2 things! I got ya. Clear as mud. :). Jk.
  4. Think you kinda answered most of your questions perfectly right here 🙂 It was an odd and unusual timeout. There was a running clock being used. The result was certainly no longer in doubt and there was definitely no tactical reason for it. Hence my rationale that it had to be something for the players/seniors. 🙂 But that's only me guessing. I can see your point of worrying about the what ifs in the final moments of a game that's in hand and moving forward with games ahead. My mind immediately reflects back on Grant Stamm from Linton and his broken leg, so truly....I see your valid point. I'm glad it ended up being a no harm no foul moment, and appreciate you looking at it that way.
  5. I think that's a fair question. We fans can only speculate. So you'd have to get the real answer and logic from the coach and staff. But one thing I believe most of us can proclaim is that Coach Oliver is a morally righteous kind of guy. And I for one can't believe for one second that there was anything malicious with his logic. I sincerely believe whatever he did, he did for the young men playing. But most of us fans know how Coach Ollie is personally, and I imagine not many fans of opponents do....so I get the question. As always, just my 2 cents.
  6. I think NV takes the win again. Of course all of our speculation gets thrown out the window once we learn the precise quality and location of the end zone cameras.
  7. I think the devil is always in the details for Bob. 🙂
  8. No love for North Knox? 🙂 I usually pull for our long time rivals who are still in it, then whoever is still out of our sectional, then of course a team from the south. (with the exception of Sullivan of course lol) Then again I'm probably a little bit biased here. I graduated from Linton while my brother graduated from North Knox. Hope it's a great game though!
  9. Congrats to Mater Dei on a dominating win. Best of luck and good health in the championship game. MD just seemed to be better on both sides of the ball in the trenches and getting to the outside faster than Linton. Not sure what the stats were but MD did well with pass coverage and didn't give up any big plays. I really thought it looked like Linton would have some opportunities at moving the ball well on offense, but even when we made progress the fundamental errors cost us dearly on WAY too many occasions. Great season for the Miners and a big tip of the hat to the Seniors!
  10. Congrats to North Knox on their win! Will be rooting you on in the championship game.
  11. Worst 13 minutes of football to start a game I think I've ever seen Linton have.
  12. Linton will be without Eslinger tonight. His health and welfare is absolutely the 1st priority, but I'd be a liar if I said his production won't be missed tonight.
  13. Did I overlook the Mater Dei player roster height/weight chart in this thread? Yes I'm being lazy and didn't want to go through 5 pages of the thread searching.
  14. That clears it up, ty. lol I was only 10 and knew I couldn't count 100% on my memory. I know you've got a few years on me and have to remember it better than I, C. 🙂
  15. South Put...my memory has failed me again lol. I was fairly young at the time myself. Everyone in the stands had blankets slung over the railings to block the wind. And those guys and their shorts tradition...too funny.
  16. The temps were already ridiculous without the wind. I remember at Linton In 86, semi state gate vs (I think??) Tri-west it was absolutely cold, windy, snow on the ground miserable. The Karazia brothers were coaching then and still wore their shorts during the game. Linton had large portable heaters on the sidelines for the team. Was a great game that Linton ended up losing.
  17. I was amused for awhile too, but his schtick is becoming a little stale. I wish he'd at least freshen up with some new material. Ugh...even the trolls aren't doing things proper in 2A.
  18. In that case, Tanka reminds me of a large mouth bass. Maybe it's just me but 2A threads seem like the aftermath of a zombie apocalypse with only a few of us hanging around. A few signals of life from NK fans but w/o going back through the thread have we even heard anything from FP fans, or EMD? Personally at this point I'm willingly petting the trolls for entertainment sadly enough. Maybe I became spoiled from our wonderful banter in our days in 1A threads. We had a lot of intense and engaging conversations over the years. But now.....seems like pulling teeth to get much going 😕
  19. I'm rooting for the Warriors against FP and I'm thinking this will not be a close game as NK takes the win. NK is going to be a tough opponent for anyone they face and I believe they are playing well and with that energy and fire that really kicks it up a notch.
  20. I think JH has lost its mind. I just can't see how they are listing Linton as a 4 point favorite. Not that it's needed but talk about giving MD extra motivation. Their going to be considered the underdog? In their house?? I think it would get me fired up.
  21. I've done some very limited research (I'm waiting for Miner Pride to get the in depth stuff). But season stat totals for Linton and EMD are pretty comparable. Each team has thrown for around 1,000 yards and rushed for around 2,000 yards for the year. Linton has a slight edge in both categories per game, but not by much. Linton has ran for more rushing TD's for the season but the passing TD's are about the same. EMD has thrown quite a few more interceptions than Linton, and the Linton defense has picked off quite a few more passes than the EMD defense. Sacks for the season and per game are about even for both teams. I did notice EMD hasn't missed a PAT all year and they aren't afraid to kick (and make) the occasional field goal. Usually no further than the 30 yard line. Now I know these are just numbers on paper, and I don't have player info/sizes of their lineman, receivers, or running back. And we all know Mater Dei has played a tough SOS so that has to impact their basic season numbers. But I just thought I'd throw this out there to see if it helps anyone gather a little bit of insight on MD. I hope it's a great game with a Miner win, but I think we all realize we're playing a very good team.
  22. I think I've figured out the absolute perfect spot for you to place one of your ENDzone cameras.
