  1. I have very limited knowledge on EMD. Are they a balanced attack team? Do they rely on their running game the most and use the passing game just to compliment the run game? Just kinda curious to see what Linton's program looks like compared to theirs, should both teams win in the first round.
  2. Better late than never.... Just want to say thank you TS to your years of work in our little county. Your dedication and enthusiasm for the kids and their sports was always noticed, welcomed, and respected. Best wishes for you in the capital. Don't be a stranger around here.
  3. I'm guilty as charged :(. I got caught up in the thinking waaay too far ahead.
  4. I think before Linton left the SW7 and ended up in 2A we had a lot of traditional rival games that had A LOT of history. And that always generated a lot of talk of how good of a team the opponent had this year and how this year they would give Linton a run for their money etc etc. Now that Linton has really tweaked their schedule we haven't really established any solid rivalries with long histories and that takes some of the back and forth conversation out of it. But you guys are right, there has been a slow down on conversations about Miner football and I'm not entirely sure why that is. We have a really good team this year, and I would expect a little more chatter about them but it doesn't seem to be there.
  5. My knowledge is pretty limited to 1A and 2A, but I'll always remember Dylan Morris.
  6. I just wanted to apologise and say I meant no disrespect to Providence (especially that's what this thread is about) or to North Posey. I'm guilty to a fault of looking ahead, just my nature. If, and when, the day comes for a Linton vs MD I'm sure we'll all have plenty to talk about :). Good luck and good health to both teams this Friday.
  7. Does anyone agree EMD will be the toughest defense Linton has seen? Assuming Linton makes it through the 1st round.
  8. I doubt there are too many programs out there that have what they consider to be a "perfect" schedule. I give props to our administration for getting the schedule we have and as I said before I like it. I think the schedule has come a LONG way from the days of the SW7 when we constantly got knocked for our SOS. I suspect the AD is always looking at little tweaks here and there, but between travel and other teams locked into conferences it probably is a challenge. Don't forget....there are those teams that Linton has reached out to and they've politely declined to even play us (for whatever reason). So that doesn't help matters. Seems like the team and AD are trying for a challenging schedule, sometimes they just have to play the hand they are dealt. I hope nobody thinks Linton is just looking for a soft regular season because in my eyes nothing could be further from the truth. Just my 2 cents again.
  9. Personally, I like the design of the Miner schedule. Especially on the back end. Gives Linton a chance to heal up, and not come into the sectionals exhausted and busted up playing a bruising schedule at the end of regular season. I can only hope they don't have a short term memory issue and forget how they played early on against teams that many consider much more formidable opponents.
  10. I think the game turned out about as most everyone expected. I have to say I'm a little disappointed to see the Miners having too many mental mistakes and miscues this late in the season. I know it was a cold rainy muddy mess, but some things you can't put on the weather.
  11. Let me try this again since I can't seem to type. Linton-46 Eastern Greene-6 Halftime
  12. Believe you are correct. Think the rain is supposed to start late Thursday night and continue throughout Friday so I'm picturing a muddy mess of a game. I hope for no injuries for either team and maybe a little cooperation from mother nature.
  13. I've read many of your posts in other threads. You often bring relevant conversations to the table and keep good chatter going. But man oh man...you really really really should let go of this obsession with PH vs Linton. We can hypothesize until the sign rises in the west, but there is zero chance we will EVER truly know how these two teams would do against one another this year. It simply will never happen. Can't we just focus a little more on the actual games that are happening, or at least the games that have SOME potential of happening down the road? Just my 2 cents.
  14. How is NK's passing game? I can see Linton maybe going with a 5 man front in this game to hopefully dampen the pound and ground aspect of NK.
  15. It seems like it's been brought up several different games how Linton's offensive and defensive line would be undersized compared to their counterparts. Yet I've not seen a game where I felt like Linton's line has been manhandled on either side of the ball. I think they've done really well especially when technically being undersized. I also feel like Linton's defensive backs and their safeties have made some great improvements on defending against the pass. In short, I guess I'm just trying to say I like what I've been seeing and it looks like the team and coaches are still working hard to improve each and every week. Our punting and extra point attempts leave me nervous each and every single time, but I hope to see improvement there too. As always, go Miners.
  16. Hey iswhatitis, you should be good this week! Game is at 7. 🙂
  17. Just had a pretty good rain shower roll through Linton. It didn't last very long and I don't know if the forecast is predicting any more so I'm crossing my fingers for decent field conditions. Something that's kinda been bothering me about our Miners. In years past when they took the field you could see and feel the energy the players had. It never faltered. They ALWAYS seemed hungry. This year, only my opinion, but I just don't see that same enthusiasm and energy right out of the gate. They play hard. They play tough. But sometimes I do wonder if they play with that type of hunger I'm so accustomed to seeing. Maybe it's just me. Hoping for a good healthy game for both teams tonight. Go Miners.
