Gotta love dads making bold predictions about their sons' teams! 🤩 I was one of those dads back in the day!! Never ended well for me though. Ha! There's a possibility it goes better for Mr. Allen. That Blue Jays team is pretty good!

Although Triton has a solid team this year, I'm not sure they have what it takes to go very deep in the tourney. So far they've been very one-dimensional without a passing game. Schuh is a great back! But they will need to be able to throw it effectively to go very far. Triton squares off with Pioneer and Judson in weeks 6 & 7. Let's see how those go before we speculate on the Trojans' chances.

HNAC Week Three

LaVille and Pioneer is the most intriguing matchup, but North White and Winamac will probably be the closest game. -
HNAC Week Two

Triton's going to win a lot of games this year, but LaVille has all the tools! Their QB was very impressive and the passing game made the difference tonight. It was 21-14 to begin the second half. LaVille got the ball. Triton held on downs, but the Lancers executed a fake punt for a 1st down, and then the onslaught began. Really was a great game up to that point! Congrats to the Lancers. -

Triton pounding out the yards. LaVille using big pass plays to set up scores. Great game! -
HNAC Week Two

LaVille at Triton - While this is a matchup of upper tier teams in the conference, it won't be the best game of the week. Triton will move the ball some, but they won't score enough to keep this close. And they won't be able to shut down the Lancer offense. Lancers 28-7 North Judson-San Pierre at Caston - Nothing to see here. Jays 55-6 Rochester at Knox - The game of the week. I think Knox will begin winning some big games under Radtke. I'm going to give them the edge in a close one. Redskins 21-17 South Central (UM) at Culver Community - The Satellites aren't very good. Culver will pound out a lot of yards and win this one going away. Cavaliers 41-7 Winamac at Pioneer - Despite last week's sub-par offensive performance, the Panthers aren't that bad. Their D only gave up two offensive scores to a pretty good Cass team. Pioneer coaches will have a week to work out the kinks. They'll blow out the struggling Warriors and hang a goose-egg on the visitors scoreboard, making next week's game with LaVille all the more intriguing. Panthers 50-0 -

Not going to argue that point. Allen is a stud. -
HNAC Week Two

Anthony Schuh is likely the best back LaVille will see in the regular season. (Last week he went for 219 yards on 8 carries - 4 TD's) Triton's O-Line is experienced and good sized. I don't think it's a stretch to say that the Trojans could pound out a 10-12 play drive that would put up points. I don't see Triton beating the Lancers, but I'd be surprised if LaVille pitched a shutout. -
HNAC Week One
FinePrint replied to from_the_sidelines007's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
Nothing to take away from the Triton game except that they executed the running game well against a sub-par defense. Starters only played one series in the second half and that was a one play 70 yard scoring run. This Friday will expose any Triton weaknesses on both sides of the ball. -
I think this is the most intriguing year in football since the HNAC began. For the first time Pioneer is not the overwhelming favorite to win the conference title. And there should be some very solid teams when it comes to tourney time in October. I agree that Judson and LaVille should be at the top. But Triton and Pioneer won't be far back. I'm not sure what Knox returns, but I'm guessing Radke will have them playing good football as well. Someone earlier in this thread suggested that Pioneer could actually finish in the bottom half of the conference this year. Now that would be a shock! I think in the eyes of other HNAC teams, the loss to LaVille in the sectional last year instantly brought the Panthers back to being "beatable". I suspect the loss didn't sit well with the returning Pioneer players and they likely worked their backsides off this summer so that doesn't happen again! So it will be interesting to see how it all shakes out. I'm excited to get things going.

Triton is the only common opponent for these two. I did not see Triton play either team in person, but I think AC is definitely the heavy favorite. The Jets speed and athleticism will be hard for North Judson to slow down. Judson relies a lot on Allen and I would guess AC will find a way to limit his effectiveness. I'm going with the Jets, 42-14. -
HNAC Playoff Discussion
FinePrint replied to Duke of Denham's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
I believe this is true and a significant reason why Triton moved to the HNAC in the first place. Triton never beat Jimtown in all the NSC years. I think there were only 3-4 wins over Bremen. Glenn had up and down years, so there was some success with them at times. But not much in the last 10 or so years of the NSC. Same for New Prairie. They got a lot better as they grew in enrollment and the last few years of games were a waste of time for both teams. Honestly losing to Pioneer by 50 is an easier pill to swallow than losing to NP or Jimtown by the same scores. Pioneer is a similar sized school and you know they've gotten where they are by hard work and commitment. You respect that from a school your own size. But losing to schools twice your size all the time just gets old over time. The HNAC definitely provides a platform to compete with similar-sized schools on a more level playing field. And the quality of play is outstanding for a small school conference. I'm very happy we made the move. -

Triton has no chance against AC, obviously. But this team will learn a lot by playing a championship caliber team. The Trojans are young this year and have asperations of making runs in the next two years. This game will show them what it takes to play at that level. I have LaVille over Pioneer by a score. Knox will fall to Hanover. Judson takes care of Culver by 2 scores. -

I think '22 should be even better. Winamac loses 20 some seniors, but most other teams have a lot coming back! I think I saw that LaVille only has 1 senior on this year's team. Triton has no senior starters on offense and just a couple on D. Knox will be better. Culver will have plenty back. Judson has Allen and some others returning. Pioneer will reload as they always do. Let's hope we have COVID behind us and teams can settle things on the field next year! -

HNAC to have 6 teams playing for sectional titles next week. Gotta admit that’s turned into a nice little football conference. -

I think Triton has a legit shot in this one. They have definitely played the better schedule. But they are young and have played like young guys - too many mistakes and not enough confidence. If Triton plays to their talent level, it should be a really good game. -
Sectional #34 Semifinals . . .

Playoff home away from home for the Panthers! 🙂 It's nice that the Berries are willing to host like they are. It's a great venue for these big games!
