I went to North Newton in the late 80's, Rensselaer was easily our favorite game of the year. Have been glad to see that NN has been somewhat competitive the last few years, looking up.

Merrillville is a good football team. They have the talent to hang around, but I am not sure if they have the discipline. So far they have been able to overcome penalties and turnovers, that will not be the case on Friday. They will need to play a clean game for 4 quarters, something they haven't put together just yet.

I have not watched any of Carmel's games this year, but, would you say they are better than they were last year?

No, I don't know the answer, but I think Penn has a real nice field they won't be using for a while......😀

Correct me if I am wrong please, but didn't the coaches vote down the possibility of seeding the top 2 teams for sectionals?

Penn's defense is very good. Warsaw may have to learn how to throw the ball. This game has a chance to be very low scoring, may be decided by whomever makes the fewest mistakes.

Merrillville is a good football team, balanced and very talented. Their main issue is self inflicted mistakes. If they can reduce the number of turnovers and penalties, they may have a shot. I would like to see them play clean game, just hasn't happened.

Would an official ever call something because another official didn't make a call? I have never officiated football and envy those that do, just more curious i guess.

Was definitely an offensive PI that wasn't called, I still am unsure about that block in the back though. Howard is the real deal. Merrillville can win this game, but have to stay away from mistakes, they gave Valpo that win. This will be a fun game to watch, for sure.
