  1. Hot Take: Elizabeth Warren’s K‑12 Education Plan: https://www.cato.org/blog/hot-take-elizabeth-warrens-k-12-education-plan
  2. https://reason.com/2019/10/21/target-15-bucks-per-hour-didnt-work-out/#comments Agreed. As one of the comments states:
  3. Please expound on this apparent "travesty of the game" rule. I have never heard of it.
  4. ? I thought deception/fakes/etc. were part of the game of football?
  5. Possibly because a good percentage of the athletes have to have a part time job to help support their families, so if it is not their 'game night' they are working. But this isn't just home events. Most every time I have visited a concession stand, home or away, I have been waited on by an adult. Especially when it came to paying/receiving change.
  6. https://deadspin.com/washington-dealt-unsportsmanlike-conduct-penalty-for-at-1839196360 Curious, is this also a current rule in the high school game?
  7. https://deadspin.com/high-school-cancels-football-season-fires-coaching-sta-1839229935 Since Jackson never served his punishment, he would’ve been ineligible for every game in which he played—all seven of them—so the school chose to nullify the entire season. Last Friday, Cardinal Ritter school president Tamiko Armstead said all of the team’s games this season would be forfeited, and that the entire coaching staff was “permanently released” from their positions. ..... *smh* Any acceptable risk for a win I guess.....................
  8. https://www.indystar.com/story/sports/high-school/2019/10/21/indiana-high-school-basketball-culver-academies-placed-probation-ihsaa-mark-galloway/4055693002/ Things that make you go "hmmmmm".
  9. Please elaborate. My experience with high school athletic event concessions is that it is staffed 90+% by adults, not children.
  10. Don't know if the injury bug has hampered the Rebels this season, but at least their starters will be able to sit out most of the tournament opener, and allow any nagging injuries to get more healing time.
  11. https://www.nationalreview.com/2019/10/the-supreme-court-is-poised-to-strike-down-a-major-obama-era-agency/ Agreed. Here's hoping the SCOTUS does the right thing and scuttles the wholly unconstitutional CFPB.
  12. https://reason.com/2019/10/18/chicago-teachers-go-on-strike-to-demand-higher-pay-smaller-class-sizes-new-schools-more-staff-and-affordable-housing/#comments Ms. Lightfoot is correct. The government teachers union asking for affordable housing for teachers and students is asinine. As the first comment to this story states:
  13. ? So the warranty covers negligence on behalf of the user? And as a Hi-Pod X31 salesperson don't you want both the football and soccer teams to own one?
  14. And what does that have to do with your conclusion that I support Mr. Sanders? And what happens if the soccer program breaks the Hi-Pod X31 endzone camera? Wouldn't requiring some sort of good faith security deposit on the part of the soccer program be a good idea?
  15. No, I'm not. How you have come to that conclusion is puzzling. Care to explain?
  16. *yawn* Tell me IO, how it working out for the Seymour government high school? If the Owls football program went away would all other extracurricular sports soon whither and die to to lack of funding resources? Exactly. And now, not a fan. Shouldn't extracurricular activities be compelled to sink or swim based on their own merits, and that includes football?
  17. So it is the job of the football program to prop up the likes of swimming, cross country, wrestling, tennis, softball, baseball, track, etc.? Wonder how that is working out for Pike Central?
  18. So this "different fund" has unlimited resources/$ contained within it?
