  1. So we extend the multiplier to include any schools that currently have high school students enrolled that do not reside within that school's geographically mandated boundaries. Easy peasy. But again, a true system of promotion/relegation, with classifications not based on enrollment, is the only true and logical answer to this problem.

  3. https://reason.com/2019/10/15/journalist-protection-act-blumenthal-federal-crime/ Yet another stupid, pointless law being floated by the uni-party.
  4. I noticed the same thing DT. Some big names on that list, schools that we thought had "established programs". I never created this thread with the intent of "making fun". If I was I would have called those three 0-8 vs. 0-8 games "The Toilet Bowl" or something similar. Like I said, go support these teams on Friday night.
  5. But I thought when open enrollment was made law the IHSAA stated that it's member schools would still have to adhere to some form of IHSAA approved "transfer" rule in order to students to eligible to participate in extracurricular athletics? The following article is primarily about basketball, but could apply to any IHSAA member sport: https://usatodayhss.com/2019/indiana-high-school-basketball-transfers-have-become-a-growing-problem So again, did these open enrollment transfers from Battleground/Harrison to West Lafayette do it for the athletics or the academics?
  6. Your Knights hosted one of those 4A schools in the pre-season IIRC. Although I would place that high school football talent at more a 2A level, maybe even a high 1A.
  7. No, I don't have a subscription to the Urinal and Courier. So the IHSAA approved these transfers since they obviously were not just for athletic reasons, right?
  8. Thank you for the eloquent opinion Bobref. A true system of promotion/relegation, taking enrollment entirely out of the equation, is the fair and logical way to go. My opinion on that has not wavered.
  9. How many members of the current West Lafayette football team actually reside in the Lafayette Jeff, McCutcheon, or Harrison geographical school districts?
  10. Along these lines: The New York Times, NBC, and Other Outlets Don't Trust You To Handle the Truth: https://reason.com/2019/10/14/the-new-york-times-nbc-and-other-outlets-dont-trust-you-to-handle-the-truth/ Here's the video that the Times was quick to write about but refused to link to in its online coverage (forget about embedding!). Decide for yourself is this is too much for regular folks to handle: The video, which was originally posted to YouTube over a year ago, had virtually no views until the Times' coverage; as of this writing, it had more than 136,000 views on the channel above and has been viewed millions more times in various YouTube and Twitter iterations. The Times' leadership seems more than willing to grab readers' eyeballs by talking about the video, but they are not willing to provide readers with easy access to the offending material. ....
  11. As the 2019 regular season draws to a close let us remember those winless teams, trying to banish their futility with one last grasp at regular season greatness, aka winning a football game. After all winning the last game of the regular season may just the provide the spark needed for a deep tournament run, right? Without further ado, here is a list of 0-* teams looking for that late regular season victory. Please consider attending one of these games, the players will thank you. Games marked with an asterisk (*) are extra special "0'fer vs. 0'fer" contests: Fort Wayne Wayne (0-8) @ Carroll (Fort Wayne) (5-3) *South Bend St. Joseph (0-8) @ South Bend Adams (0-8) Mooresville (6-2) @ Perry Meridian (0-8) Muncie Central (0-8) @ Logansport (1-7) Evansville Harrison (0-8) @ Evansville Bosse (1-7) Monrovia (0-8) @ Indianapolis Scecina (5-3) Bellmont (0-8) @ East Noble (8-0) Munster (0-8) @ Kanakakee Valley (3-5) Heritage (1-7) @ Jay County (0-8) Wabash (3-5) @ Whitko (0-8) *Northwestern (0-8) @ Benton Central (0-8) Connersville (0-8) @ Batesville (2-6) *Frankfort (0-8) @ Crawfordville (0-8) Washington (0-8) @ North Knox (5-3) Charlestown (6-2) @ Eastern (Pekin) (0-8) Shelbyville (0-8) @ Pendletone Heights (4-4) Fountain Central (0-8) @ Parke Heritage (7-1) North Central (Farmersburg) (1-7) @ Eastern Greene (0-8) Hammond (0-7) @ East Chicago Central (5-3) Knox (7-1) @ Caston (0-8) Eastbrook (6-2) @ Elwood (0-8) North Posey (3-5) @ Pike Central (0-8) Hammond Noll (0-3) @ Calumet (6-1) River Forest (4-4) @ Gary Roosevelt (0-8) South Newtwon (0-8) @ Lake Station (1-7)

  14. I would take options 2 & 3 combined. "Back in the day", meaning the early 1980's for myself, we played a 10 game regular season schedule and had to qualify for the playoffs. I believe that was the infamous "cluster" era?
  15. I figured this could go in this thread because HBO is a paid service: Two very, very good HBO series just finished their seasons last night: Succession only got better during it's second season. Highly recommended! Great drama, dark humor abounds, with fantastic performances by Brian Cox and Jeremy Strong. Danny McBride's The Righteous Gemstones just finished it's inaugural season. Very funny stuff, hope there will be a season #2.
  16. Go Bulldogs. Coach needs to wear a green tie, and the players need to have really big shoulder pads....................
  17. https://www.indystar.com/story/news/crime/2019/10/10/kokomo-plane-filled-wrong-fuel-before-fatal-crash-ntsb-says/3933296002/ Wow. Can you say lawsuit? A big one?
  18. The City of Westfield should parcel out the current Grand Park to private developers, a piece at a time. Remove the burden from it's taxpayers.
