I apologize in advance if this topic has already been covered on this site, but I could not find it anywhere.
What are the rules in the state tourney for COVID absences? I think I read somewhere that if team A beats team B, and then team A has an outbreak and can't play in the next round, that team B does not get to take team A's place and the next opponent just wins by forfeit. Is this accurate?
And how does the home team determination get affected by a game that doesn't happen? If a team that was supposed to play on the road gets a "COVID bye," does that change the "last week you were at home and we were on the road, so we get to be at home this week" guideline? This could make a huge difference in some sectionals if a team does not get to be at home in the finals due to someone else having an outbreak.
Fun times.
