SF, being an average law-abiding citizen whose only experience with an attorney is minimal at best, instantly thought, after reading "Attorney Shortage" - do we really need more attorneys?  🤣 (No offense intended Bobref)

I suspect like most Americans thoughts are so what? Until you need an attorney. There are far more needs for an attorney other than criminal defense.

I remember how long it took me to finally watch The Big Lebowski, after being ridiculed by several people for not seeing it. And then when I watched it, I ridiculed myself as to "why in the hell did it take so long to watch this instant classic?"

Get back to me when you’ve seen it a minimum of 17 times, you should be starting to get it by then…..it’s a way of life.

As funny as that scene is, it doesn’t have me rolling quite like the scene where Walter dumps Donny’s ashes and they end up in The Dude’s face. Walter’s speech leading up to it adds to the hilarity, especially the ‘Nam references. I’m literally laughing my head off as I type this.

    The Dude abides.

I drove to Owensboro, KY last weekend to visit my son (Gipper, Jr.) at his internship.  Incidentally, Owensboro High School is also nicknamed the Red Devis, so apparently, we have RDP Bluegrass.   So, there you go.

But over the 5-hour trip down US 41 and SR 63, I saw many high schools: South Newton (well, the sign), Seeger, North & South Vermillion), the Hautians (both North and South), North Central, Sullivan. the sign to Linton, Vincennes, Gibson Southern, and Heritage Hills once I got on 231.  All of these school play football and it's great to know how it plays a part in shaping to character of the cities and towns they represent.

Had a similar experience driving home with my daughter who played a round robin at Purdue Northwest in Porter back during her recruiting time. Cool to see schools I’d heard of for years, then to actually see them. Eventually I wondered back on to 65.

Just curious as to why you think it is ridiculous. If a high school kid gets a part time job while he’s in school, we call him industrious. If your kid was a whiz at math, what’s wrong with enrolling him in a school where he can develop that ability to the fullest? Why do we look at athletics differently than “real life?”

Just spitballing here, but Columbus North was among the worst basketball teams in the area this past winter and the Football team is in the same sectional as CG. This will turnout about as spectacularly as most transfers around these parts. This is as much about JC’s musical chairs in the basketball office as anything.

Isn't making money the point of education? You become educated to get a job that hopefully pays well.

Depends I guess. People are still Psych majors.

What's wrong with NIL $ for High School athletes?  Our real good athletes right now play 2-3 sports a year and never have time for a true part-time job anyway.  So if they can earn some spending cash doing some social media work for the local taco truck, I see nothing wrong with it.

Is making money really the point of education based sports?

Maybe ill call out that day then. The casino will survive. 😂

If I might, I’d recommend heading in over to New Castle and enjoy a steak sandwich and an ice cold Coca-Cola at The Ice House before or after the game. If I’m within 20 miles of New Castle I’m hitting the Ice House.

Depends on who and travel time. New sectional is longer drive. I work till 5:30 so making it to knightstown probably ain't happening. Haha. I like seeing different teams and different venues.

Knightstown does have pretty nice facilities.

Hall of Fame Coach Mike Spencer who coached at Perry Central, Tell City and Corydon Central passed yesterday.  I personally did not know Coach Spencer, but this is a blow to the coaching community in southern Indiana.  While he was retired, he was still around the game and Corydon Central athletics.  I know many people who had wonderful things to say about him.  He will be missed by us, and I am sure by those in Perry County as well.  Condolences to his family and friends.

I know this was on the main page, but this affects the MSC and PLAC specifically.

My dealings with Coach Spencer he was a pro. Never had an issue with him or any of his players. Good dude.

IDK - SF feels pretty confident because President Biden said that not a single dollar released by the US to Iran is being used to purchase any of their Military's equipment......I base that confidence on the the fact that President Biden sees Hunter Biden as the "smartest guy he knows".......

My guess is it won’t really matter, Israel will once again deal with nuclear proliferation in the region.
