  1. I liken this to people wanting a national football tournament, because HS kids need to be playing an NFL length season I guess. The goal of every HS team is to win a state championship. They’ve done that when they won their class, there’s nothing more to play for. The goal has been achieved. Now we’re going to have another six team bracket so a couple of over top idiot dads can have bragging rights? I’m sure you guys will want to seed it as well, so we’d have CG v Tiny School that no one from CG has ever heard of. What the hell would entice Tiny school that no one from CG has ever heard to even want to play this game? It’s stupid.

This has all the earmarks of a self-fulfilling prophecy, I fear.

How can it not be? Apparently this is what the American citizens want. I see NO positive outcome from this election. My only hope is whoever loses shuts the f…up and rides off into the sunset…..

But we all know this ends in a shitstorm.

  3. I was actually trying to take a nap this afternoon and was forced to watch about the last five minutes. I believe I was awakened to her slamming her hand down on the bed screaming WTF are you thinking? My poor wife!

I'm glad I didn't watch.  Had better things to do.

I actually did watch a little mainly because there wasn’t squat on TV Thursday night and The Swamp People’s snake hunt show came on.
    Several take aways:

Man I don’t think any of the geriatric power brokers that run things have a clue the crap I’m dealing with living my life, much of which has been caused by them to begin with.

Biden admonishing the Supremes then stating women are not without electoral power…….Joe holds like several degrees, graduated top in his law class, multiple majors, all the stuff he spews….and apparently he neither understands the separation of powers or the fact the Supremes have lifetime appointments.

Biden has all the answers, if congress would just give him the money. Well Mr Biden, much like your “predecessor” that you like to talk about, you had two years with control of all three houses, and you produced exactly the same thing as he did to help the American people, jack shit!

Once you realize that both parties exist to:

    A) Raise money

    B) Get elected

    Everything else becomes crystal clear.

  5. They have had massive facilities upgrades the last several years, not that their facilities were horrible. Athletics have kind of fallen on hard times. Historically Madison has competed well in BB, BA, and wrestling. As I stated athletics have been down more than up the last generation or so. I think the community will support and are hungry for a winner.

  6. I will never in my life see a political money/power consolidation as the Clintons. Can anyone tell me what the hell the Clinton Global Initiative even did aside from make the Clintons rich?

A lot like Phillip Morris’s Mission Winnow BS.

It’s finally happened. I have lost the ability to communicate effectively to civilians. I can make myself understood only to other officials. 🙁

I spent an entire 8th grade halftime trying explain to a MS coach why you can’t line both the slot and the end on the LOS and they’re both eligible. He kept telling his slot is always eligible, and I could not make him understand he was neither an end or a back. The struggle is real.

Term Limits.  Get someone who is actually interested in fixing things instead of lining their own pockets.....

I’ve never been particularly fired up about term limits but it may be the only answer. One thing I haven’t understood thru most of my adult life, congress routinely scores somewhere just below tooth infections and above cancer on the likability scale. Everyone hates congress but continues to send their rep and senators back to Washington.
We get the government we deserve, good and hard.

Update from the MSM:   “Oh wait, it wasn’t a planned mass shooting where the shooter has little pigment and wrote a manifesto but rather a dispute between two young men of color?”

“Let’s move on to another story.”

If it fits the narrative it’s way to wall coverage including the memorials, if not move along nothing to see here. It’s so predictable it’s laughable.

  10. @EasyEJay this is the big issue I see for IU. The natives have been clamoring for an “IU guy”, well they got him…….now what?

After and endless parade of throw away coaches and poor hires, perhaps we need to look more closely at the people making the hires.

IU has been irrelevant big time college sports for years, judging from recent history if you’re an IU fan, I’d get used to it.

  11. I’ve paid zero attention to this story, I don’t know any of the particulars, nor do I care to. But the answer to anything changing is no, the knee jerk reaction is always the same, punish law abiding gun owners. Guns are a symptom of much larger societal problems, we’ve seen, guns (guns are easy, but also against public opinion can be difficult to obtain), vehicles, bladed tools, etc. Why don’t we look at what causes people to do such heinous acts? Guns are nothing new, guns have been around, how do we go from many students having shotguns and rifles in the school parking lot and nary a negligent discharge, to what we have today?

As a fan, I don't care one way or another. I would imagine, as a coach, you're probably in the minority with regard to eliminating the scrimmage. I'm guessing most coaches would rather knock heads against another team in a practice game before kicking off when it actually counts.

It was always my understanding that when they changed to the current format, the scrimmage was a concession. The plan was eventually it would go away and we would be back to a 10 game schedule. Then the argument was, everyone gets in we’re already playing 10 games. I tend to agree with @JQWLthe scrimmage has outlived its usefulness, given the current summer rules. That being said man, starting games second Friday in August seems early.

  13. Bob I specifically asked the question when the nomenclature was changed from “not enough guys on the line”, to “five guys in the backfield”, what we do with the slot in no man’s land. I was told if he’s not on the line he’s in the backfield. My point was exactly what you posted. I would LOVE to know specifically who and where it was addressed.

Also along these same line, last year was somewhat eye opening for me, for the first time in many years I was no longer a crew chief. I was AMAZED at the drop off in the amount of pertinent information I no longer received from North Meridian in terms of rulings and the normal communications we receive. Now I totally understand when guys show up at meetings and say I never heard that.

I’m referring to the common practice of lining a wingback up so that his position is neither on the line nor in the backfield. There are many implications that flow from lining up in that position … all of which are routinely ignored.

After the change in the requirements for lineman, I was under the impression if they weren’t on the line, they were in the backfield.
