  1. Anger outburst from a player who has had issues with it in the past. Apparently the player is suspended from the team but unknown for exactly how long.
  2. Contrary to what many believe, head coaches do not have full control and final decision power over every single thing.
  3. Good points. And yeah, I expect their approach to be much different heading into sectionals this year.
  4. By the way, some of my tailgating pals were talking about the new start time and if it will effect when the gates open. Have any of you heard when the gates will open at any of the fields? How much earlier will we have to start the 'gating? These are important questions 🤓
  5. And their weakness was...lack of discipline and a hurt QB. That was the point. All the talent they return + what they have coming up for depth + any transfers they got = very good team. I do expect the conference to be more competitive this season though, so I will say there are a few teams more capable of upsetting them. But there are some that just have huge question marks so it's hard to say.
  6. But that's what the opposition wants. The only way Reitz is losing until regionals will be due to lack of discipline or maybe injuries. But from what I've heard, save for one sore thumb, the culture and leadership is much improved. I guess that's something you should expect to happen with that many seniors and returning starters though.
  7. Haven't updated the SIAC D1 offer list in a bit, but seems to keep growing! OL/DL Jayden Hazelwood (North) - 6'3" 320 lbs Eastern Kentucky University Miami (OH) University Army West Point Indiana State University Bryant University OL Benjamin Brasher (North) - 6'3” 310 lbs Eastern Kentucky University DE Kaleb Harris (North) - 6'2" 210 lbs Indiana State University WR/DB Hayden Summers (Reitz) - 6'2" 180 lbs Lindenwood University Murray State University OL/DL Harlen Summers (Reitz) - 6'4" 290 lbs Butler University University of Pennsylvania Columbia University Lindenwood University Murray State University Illinois State University - verbal commit OL Quentin Boeke (Reitz) - 6'5" 270 lbs Columbia University Lindenwood University Southern Illinois University Indiana State University Illinois State University Cornell University Colgate University WR/RB Antonio Harris (Castle) - 6'1” 185 lbs Indiana State University DL Benny Patterson (Castle) - 6'3” 235 lbs Indiana State University OL Griffin Hile (Jasper) - 6'6" 280 lbs Indiana State University - verbal commit
  8. Updating the SIAC D1 offer list as it continues to grow! 9. I know there was a big one but heard there weren't many besides that, nothing close to last season. Sounds like they are mostly relying on that huge class of seniors that are returning starters.
  10. From what I've heard, it sounds like they are taking every measure possible to ensure that it's their focus. I'm sure more reports will come out about that soon enough. But opponents don't want to see them disciplined, might already be a wrap as is.
  11. North Posey could give them a tough time this year but yes, I still think MD will make it to sectionals or regionals. However, I do think Triton Central finally beats them this year. How far would MD have to make it to move up to 3A?
  12. Triton Central might finally represent the South at state this year.
  13. Definitely agree that there is a large gap. This year I think East Central, Reitz, Roncalli, and New Pal would all win state against the North team that makes it. That's not even saying the North teams aren't good, it's just the south is loaded right now.
  14. Updating the SIAC D1 offer list as it continues to grow! OL/DL Jayden Hazelwood (North) - 6'3" 320 lbs Eastern Kentucky University Miami (OH) University Army West Point Indiana State University OL Benjamin Brasher (North) - 6'3” 300 lbs Eastern Kentucky University WR/DB Hayden Summers (Reitz) - 6'2" 180 lbs Lindenwood University Murray State University OL/DL Harlen Summers (Reitz) - 6'4" 290 lbs Butler University University of Pennsylvania Columbia University Lindenwood University Murray State University Illinois State University OL Quentin Boeke (Reitz) - 6'5" 270 lbs Columbia University Lindenwood University Southern Illinois University Indiana State University Illinois State University Cornell University Colgate University WR/RB Antonio Harris (Castle) - 6'1” 185 lbs Indiana State University DL Benny Patterson (Castle) - 6'3” 235 lbs Indiana State University
  15. Honestly surprised they put Reitz ahead of Roncalli and New Pal, although I do think that is what they are capable of. But nice to see SW IN getting respect early on.
  16. I know Whiteland does return some good athletes but I would probably agree with Plainfield and DC over them.
  17. Good list overall. I think East Central could even be a bit higher and Evansville Reitz may be top 20-25.
  18. From the SIAC...Matthew Fisher of Memorial, Ben Davies of Reitz, and Xander Hunt of Vincennes are all very talented QBs in 11 games - Fisher finished with 1830 yards and 15 TDs to 10 INTs - class of '25 comes in at 6'3" 180 lbs. Good size and poise. Good completion rate. Throws a good ball in and out of the pocket. Tough competitor. Also a good baseball player. in 9 games - Davies finished with 1561 yards and 18 TDs to 7 INTs - class of '25 comes in at 6'2" 195 lbs. Injured in week 4, missed a few games, never really recovered. Put up great stats when healthy. Surgery in offseason, expected back healthy. Good size and throws a good deep ball. in 10 games - Hunt finished with 1464 pass yards and 10 TDs to 7 INTs, added 908 rush yards for 13 TDs - class of '24 comes in at 5'10" 160 lbs. Was named SIAC POTY. Undersized but incredible competitor. True dual threat. Decent passer but really thrives running the ball. Willed his team to wins and kept them in games where they were outmatched.
  19. List of returning all conference players for each team, ordered by standings: REITZ Hayden Summers (WR), Harlen Summers (OL), Levi Oxley (DL), Roland Vera Jr. (DB), Calab Utley (DL) MEMORIAL Matthew Fisher (QB), Alex Broshears (LB) JASPER Griffin Hile (OL) MATER DEI Spencer Turner (DB) NORTH Timothy Dixon (OL), Jayden Hazelwood (DL), Kaleb Harris (ALD), Kasey Hospelhorn (DB) CASTLE Coleton Adamson (OL) VINCENNES Xander Hunt (POTY/ALO), Daniel Nash (OL), Luke Lindsey (K), Hayden Patton (DL), Will Hambrick (LB) HARRISON none BOSSE none CENTRAL none Three of the biggest snubs are returning as well: Quentin Boeke (OL), Porter Rode (RB), Ayden Wells (LB)
  20. Just around the corner. I assume July consists of more contact and competitions, hopefully all the teams will get through the summer at full strength. I expect the 1-7 spots to be very competitive in the conference!
  21. I expect Southridge will be very good, maybe better than last year. Handful of those players that made their defense so tough are returning. Scoring points will be the question for them. I don’t think they will be quite as good as GS but they’ll still be as tough as any in 3A south.
  22. Updating the SIAC D1 offer list after Quentin Boeke of Reitz got an offer from Colgate! OL/DL Jayden Hazelwood (North) - 6'3" 320 lbs Eastern Kentucky University Miami (OH) University Army West Point Indiana State University WR/DB Hayden Summers (Reitz) - 6'2" 180 lbs Lindenwood University OL/DL Harlen Summers (Reitz) - 6'4" 285 lbs Butler University University of Pennsylvania Columbia University Lindenwood University Murray State University Illinois State University OL Quentin Boeke (Reitz) - 6'5" 270 lbs Columbia University Lindenwood University Southern Illinois University Indiana State University Illinois State University Cornell University Colgate University WR/RB Antonio Harris (Castle) - 6'1” 185 lbs Indiana State University DL Benny Patterson (Castle) - 6'3” 230 lbs Indiana State University
  23. And I don’t think either team is at full strength yet. Would love to see a real game between them. I think both teams play well into November this season.
  24. From what I hear the competition was good, the teams got better, and most importantly came out healthy. All you can ask for out of a summer scrimmage. Any word on how the Castle or Boonville QB situations looked? Both have big questions to answer at that position. I believe Reitz is scrimmaging at Gibson Southern tonight. Should be a great early test for both teams.
  25. We have another player to add to the list! Updating the SIAC D1 offer list after Hayden Summers of Reitz got an offer from Lindenwood! OL/DL Jayden Hazelwood (North) - 6'3" 320 lbs Eastern Kentucky University Miami (OH) University Army West Point Indiana State University WR/DB Hayden Summers (Reitz) - 6'2" 180 lbs Lindenwood University OL/DL Harlen Summers (Reitz) - 6'4" 285 lbs Butler University University of Pennsylvania Columbia University Lindenwood University Murray State University Illinois State University OL Quentin Boeke (Reitz) - 6'5" 265 lbs Columbia University Lindenwood University Southern Illinois University Indiana State University Illinois State University Cornell University WR/RB Antonio Harris (Castle) - 6'1” 185 lbs Indiana State University DL Benny Patterson (Castle) - 6'3” 230 lbs Indiana State University
