If GS is lucky enough to WIN sectional, the path to LUCAS has a very good chance of being 100% on the road. Unless Triwest can beat Danville or Brownstown can beat Lawrenceburg.

The School Corps can do a Bond against property taxes. As assessed property values go up it helps to eat away at the Bond. The average home owner typically sees something less than $5.00 on that first tax bill. Farmers get hit a little harder than that.

County rivalry sort of....has kind of lost its luster.

I don't believe the Titans have punted to a conference opponent yet (as hard as the crew at Mt. Vernon tried). Could the Tigers be the first conference team for force a punt?!

I understand some sectionals are their own travesty (I get the feeling that is what bugs you the most), that is a separate issue. Let's fix this easy one...then move on to that one.

I just think it is a travesty for the second best team in a sectional to only get to play 10 games that season. I have seen it too many times. It is simply heartbreaking for those kids. It is such an easy fix to eliminate that one issue.

So why do you oppose seeding number 1 and 2 on opposite sides of the bracket if you are going to go to the "good" games no matter when they are played? I have to admit I haven't read every post in this thread. Not being cute just trying to understand why that would even matter to you.

Just read this article and have to admit I got choked up. Brave young man with a wonderful community support system. There is still a lot of good in this world.

I'm just coming at it from the perspective of how can we tweak the all in system we have with little difficulty. It wouldn't be difficult to put the top two teams on opposite sides of the bracket, and perhaps even going the extra step of having 1 play 3, 2 play 4, 5 play 6, etc. so we have fewer blowouts. I'm not looking to solve sectional geography here. Let's tackle that one as phase 3 or 4. Baby steps.

I think those 1 or 2 games matter a lot. Someone has to lose that early match up between number 1 and 2 and they have both earned the right to get that extra game or two, for many kids it's the last time they will ever play.
