  1. Or not. Notre Dame’s AD better be on the phone with a conference commissioner right now.
  2. Nah, you get 1 protected rival in another division.
  3. Alabama scored 7 more points…
  4. I do every year but not because some geriatric pressured me to do so.
  5. Always but you have blinders on. You see flaws in every program but your own. Temp’s proposal… Big Ten example: East: Maryland, Rutgers, Penn State, Ohio State, ACC team Midwest: Michigan, Michigan State, Indiana, Northwestern, ACC team Plains: Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, Purdue, Illinois West: Nebraska, USC, UCLA, Washington, Oregon First four ACC teams I’d call would be Notre Dame, Pittsburgh, Syracuse and Louisville.
  6. Bowl eligibility is not something to boast about in modern day college football, lol. If you can’t get to 6 wins (5 in some cases) you’re terrible.
  7. You sure do love the computer rankings when it fits your narrative huh? Head to head I’ll take ND right now but I still think you are over inflating them for beating up on a a handful of below average teams.
  8. I’ve always liked how college basketball advocates for the little guy and gives them a chance, but does anyone seriously believe that James Madison and Tulane can win it all? Could they shock folks and win one game? Sure. Also, Notre Dame beat FIVE bowl eligible teams…FIVE.
  9. You still have to consider the competition, no?
  10. So “looking bad” in a game that your 9 game conference schedule rewarded you with is worse than sitting on your ass?
  11. And how did Notre Dame look yesterday?
  12. Temp’s solution. Max out the mega conferences at 20 teams. Create four divisions of 5 teams each. You play each team in your division once. You have a protected rival in each of the other divisions and play them annually. That’s eight games. You then take the four division winners and create conference semi finals and finals. Matchup teams 2-5 in each division also. Do that in the four major conferences and expand your field to 16. Let the little guys enjoy all of the cute bowl games against non playoff qualifying P4 teams.
  13. Rarely if ever will you see me defending the SEC, specifically their scheduling practices but you think that Texas and Bama are sitting here wishing they’d scheduled “Directional U” in week 1 instead of OSU/FSU? Now, I know FSU turned out to be below average but the point still stands. With these mega conferences, often the schedule inbalance plays as much of a role when producing a team’s record in December as does their actual performance.
  14. Still something backwards about a system that punishes a team for playing an extra game that they EARNED via 12 weeks of play.
  15. Congrats Hoosier fans. You deserve it. Four red zone possessions for OSU…lol. The missed field goal early by Indiana may have actually been a blessing as there is no doubt Day would have gone for it on 4th and 1 down 6 instead of 3. His chicken$hit play call on 3rd and 1 was hysterical and telling. Still the same dude who buckles in close 4th quarter games.
  16. When they discussed this new format, I knew this was going to happen to teams that lost in their conference championship games. The eye test shows Alabama is not a top 12 team but if I were them and I got left out today (which seems likely), I’d be pissed. They beat Georgia in the regular season and by record were the top team in the SEC. Ole Miss, Oklahoma and A&M sat on their asses yesterday and are comfortably in. They should’ve just declined the invite to the SEC title game.
  17. Yep. Never pass up an opportunity to watch you make an ass of yourself.
  18. You’re speaking out of pocket.
  19. Notre Dame went 0-1 against the SEC.
  20. Giants on their fourth phone call in search of a replacement…
  21. While true couldn’t the argument be made that they cannibalized each other?
  22. That explains the rise of teams like Indiana sure but there is no reason for Texas, Florida and Penn State to have bombed so badly. Those teams are 4th, 12th and 10th in the 247 team composite rankings respectively. That should be a minimum of 8-9 wins alone with competent coaching. While I agree on the statements made here and also by@Coach Nowlin, my attraction to the college game has always been the “team first” mentality. That’s now gone in most situations and guys simply get fat and happy once they’ve inked an NIL deal and winning becomes secondary for many of them. Is this a gross exaggeration?
