You really are the gift that keeps on giving…you’ve revisited this thread (that is now 20 pages long) that YOU created 5+ months ago that continually gets bumped to the top of the forum just to share your level of “outrage” about a “cheating coach/program” which you have no affiliation or rooting interest in. How long have you been a member of this site? Did you bring this same level of energy to all of the cheating programs in the southeast and at USC/Ohio State who were openly paying players for years before it was legal or do you cherry pick your outrage and was iPhone 14 footage your final straw? Harbaugh HAD to sleep with your ex girlfriend or something. At this point there is no other rational explanation. I can only imagine you in your living room Monday night…stabbing your Harbaugh voodoo doll and pretending to be some sort of Michael Penix fanatic because he graduated from IU.

Counterpoint: The shelf life of an NFL coach is pretty damn short…for every Bellichick there are 2-3 Reich’s… Harbaugh has a lifetime contract at his alma mater, will never buy a meal in Ann Arbor and will be untouchable in the event of a win Monday night…maybe even if they lose. At 60 years old, that’s pretty damn rare and might cause one to think twice, no?

To be fair the games are discussed in the other thread…this thread is simply the assassination of Michigan’s accomplishments from folks with an axe to grind. For the record, this thread is 19 pages long and @Bash Riprock declared himself “done going down this rabbit hole” on page 10. Thats telling.

Eventually he’ll be right. Gotta respect him continuing to leave the on deck circle and walk to the plate. I still remember the Michigan plane being in route from California to Ann Arbor in 2015…Harbaugh was on it…pen in hand, Michigan pin on his sport jacket, heading to Schembechler Hall upon landing for his introductory press conference where he was going to be named Michigan’s next head coach… 10 minutes later, ESPN had Schefter (a Michigan grad by the way) on SportsCenter citing “Oakland is still in play…do not count out the Raiders.” Point being, no one nationally knows Harbaugh’s future, hell his wife may not. Doesn’t stop them though.

I’ve been clear through this entire process that they “cheated”. I’ve never debated that issue. However, the results speak for themselves at this point as it pertains to the level of advantage they had…hell there are way more egregious acts quoted in that article you just read.

We should get at least 11 good bowl games next year…good news because this year was blah…

Ya see, when someone is continually wrong (see Doyel’s examples above, and I could cite more) they lose legitimacy in my opinion. That’s how this works. He has skin in the game as his paycheck is impacted by being controversial…and it’s not just him as this is modern day media as every network engages in this behavior. I’d watch a podcast of DT, Bash and Bob on the regular…even though we have our differences in opinion, they don’t thrive on hyperbole and ratings. As for “limited evidence” @Grover cherry picked a quote from JJ McCarthy which was a small portion of the article. Michigan had top 5 defenses in the country under Don Brown in 2018 and 2019…and gave up 118 points in two contests against Ohio State….makes ya think.

Ok, well his opinions suck and have for quite sometime. When you have a platform, you also have a responsibility to have educated opinions…instead he digs his heels in and takes the most controversial stance possible while actually alienating himself and his employer from common sense. This “antagonist view” gains clicks which is a high priority in modern day journalism. Maybe I was too kind with my Fox/CNN/MSNBC take…the National Enquirer is more appropriate.

Doyel is CNN/MSNBC/and Fox rolled into one. He wishes HE had someone he could “cheat” on. Sensationalist journalism. “Thousands will die if there are fans at the Indianapolis 500 and if college football is played.” NO ONE has held him accountable. “Journalism” is full of hacks in the modern era.

There are a couple of exceptions to this rule (guys that have succeeded at both levels) but I just can’t put my finger on who they are… One of them even lost QB1 and still went to the Super Bowl…and that QB1 was never the same after the coach departed.

I just can’t with you anymore dude. You know the sport and you almost had me until you tried to cite bowl games results as an indicator of schedule and conference strength. It isn’t the 1990s anymore. OSU played without its two most important players and had zero motivation in the Cotton Bowl. I mean if we are gonna play this game, let’s at least be consistent and not cherry pick. A Maryland team that gave Michigan everything it could handle just went out and throttled an Auburn team that Bama needed a miracle to beat last month.
