  1. They have a bye to the regional…conference title hopes are gone… Its a one game season. Start prepping for CG NOW.
  2. Nah, closer to top 5. He barely got drafted though…wasn’t “VERY good” I guess. (BTW: Book had a higher career win percentage at ND than Brady did at Michigan.)
  3. Correct which sorta counters your prior statement. Book > Bennett, or at least equals. Book’s supporting cast < Bennett’s
  4. I mean, Stetson Bennett was a walk on, was booed early in his tenure at UGA and doesn’t exactly have eye popping stats. He was much better late in the season last year but it helps to be surrounded by 15 future draft picks. Book got ND to the playoff after all… Other than that I can’t think of too many other examples to argue your point.
  5. Ball don’t lie.
  6. In that case, you need to change your definition of “really good.” I’ll bail you out. Since 1887, 111 different quarterbacks have started at least 1 game under center for Notre Dame. Of those 111, 13 started at least 25 games and ONE (Tony Rice) has a higher career winning percentage than Ian Book. So yeah, “really good.”
  7. Don’t duck the question. Gimme the list. Montana? Theismann? Buerlein? Mirer? Rice? Powlus? Rees?
  8. Better, still not acceptable. Assume, as a lifelong Notre Dame fan, that you have a list of quarterbacks on hand that you would rank as better than Book? Can’t be a long list, especially since the turn of the century.
  9. You have to be “really good” for a GM to risk his reputation and sign checks for you to play for them. At the time he left Notre Dame, he was “really good.” No other way to spin it.
  10. So I win too? Just admit you held Wentz to a different standard because of his vaccination status because he played the most prominent position on the field and therefore was an easy target. Then we can all move on.
  11. 10 quarterbacks were taken in the 2021 NFL draft…there are 260 FBS/FCS teams in college football. I’ll let you do the math. Spoiled.
  12. I’ll let him do the dirty work. If he provides the receipts you still gonna be in denial?
  13. I mean, not everyone can make it in the NFL. You are talking 100 QBs. Just because he got cut doesn’t mean he was somehow terrible.
  14. You should be thrilled with that based on what I’ve seen.
  15. “You win?” An admission of defeat. The man is just offering to show you the recruits of WHY he won.
  16. Might not make it through the week.
  17. Irrelevant.
  18. How bad is Auburn? Taking nothing away from Penn State but all I heard this off season was that their offensive line was putrid and would hold them back yet they steam rolled Auburn’s defense. Could not run against Purdue yet they put up 250 on Auburn?
  19. 8-4 is still on the table…unlikely but still possible.
  20. &$@? BYU is rich considering the volleyball story that was just proven to be false.
  21. Purdue just can’t get out of its own way. Should easily be 3-0.
  22. Interested to see what the spread will be this week for ND/UNC… One team can’t move the ball and the other can’t stop anybody. Um, didn’t he get drafted? How spoiled are we?
  23. Feel like we can accurately assess most conference teams after three weeks. Here goes. 1. Ohio State 2. Michigan 3. Penn State 4. Minnesota 5. Wisconsin 6. Michigan State 7. Purdue 8. Maryland 9. Iowa 10. Rutgers 11. Indiana 12. Illinois 13. Northwestern 14. Nebraska What say you?
  24. HM (#40) Had em in last week. Elkhart and Fort Wayne North jumped em. HM (#26)
