  1. Crawl, run or walk…they’d better make their mind up. They fit so well in the Big Ten academically and geographically. The money being tossed around makes their cute little NBC deal they like to boast about look like chump change.
  2. Hard to ignore at this stage and disappointing but it’s early… The two teams aren’t scheduled to play again until 2032 so a bit of a weird flex on your part (obviously if Notre Dame comes crawling to the Big Ten that could change). Summer national championships and September Heisman’s are fun though…(Michigan has won a couple.) We will see if your boy Freeman can turn this into on the field success. (I still like my guy though.) Irish should join the Big Ten/ACC and put the full court press on Dante Moore. Rumor has it, he fell in love with Oregon on his visit and they are the new leader…but I’m not sure he wants to play in the Mountain West because I don’t think Oregon is getting in to the Big Ten.
  3. Apparently we didn’t pay the premium insider fee to get the scoop. Nothing like saying something, by really saying nothing…just for attention.
  4. Big Ten tells Oregon and Washington it’s standing pat until it hears from Notre Dame… This is getting fun.
  5. Over/under 4.5 wins this fall?
  6. Sorta agree but the conference members would be members in name only. In the scenario I presented above, the 24 schools are “members” of the Big Ten but in reality they are just under the same umbrella until the important dates on the calendar. ACC/SEC/Big 12 do the same and you have your 96. ”Choosing” the playoff field would be simply the four conference winners.
  7. That squad averaged 256 yards per game rushing and had a 3000+ yard rusher in Romier Elliott. People were pissed Bell didn’t win Mr. Football when Elliott actually had the bigger gripe.
  8. The Rose Bowl has traditionally been the goal of each conference’s champion so keep that in tact. How cool would this set up be? Thursday: 5th/6th place division teams play Friday: 3rd/4th place division teams play Saturday: 1st/2nd place teams play 12 games in 3 days.
  9. Cool. 4 divisions of 6 it is. Three non-conference games, 5 against your division, 1 protected cross over, 2 random home and homes from the remaining two divisions. Thanksgiving weekend you have your four division winners play on neutral fields (plus match up the finishing order and let those teams play). Two winners from those division semi final matchups play in a winner take all game in Pasadena. Boom. Done.
  10. True, guess we sort of agree. Fully prepared to admit I’m wrong or ask for help with my memory here but outside of last year’s Gibson Southern squad I’m struggling to remember a recent state championship team that had an unstoppable air attack as their base offense. Either way it’s rare.
  11. I know it’s way down the priority list of the higher ups involved, but as a fan what I dislike most about this is the obvious schedule imbalances it will create in football. if ND and others indeed join the mix, they’ve gotta go to a 3/4 division format. Having ND, OSU, PSU, MSU and UM play annually is a kamikaze mission. Go 20 and have 4 divisions of 5 teams. Each team plays its own division once and has a protected crossover along with 3 other home/home contests annually. Something like this: East: Penn State, Rutgers, Maryland, Ohio State, UNC/UVA? Central: Michigan, MSU, ND, Indiana, Purdue North, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, Illinois, Northwestern West: UCLA, USC, Oregon, Washington, Nebraska
  12. No, ND no longer holds the cards
  13. But they would then have to give up those fierce rivalries against Navy, Stanford, Boston College and FSU to play a combo of OSU, UM, MSU, PSU and USC annually. They escaping that gauntlet with less than two losses more often than not?
  14. Yesterday’s news surely got the wheels turning in the minds of all athletic directors across the county and ND is no longer immune.
  15. Honest question: Do you NEED to throw the ball to win in high school football? I’m fully prepared to defend my stance of “not really”.
  16. Won’t happen but the selfish side of me would love to watch the irony of the Big Ten saying “no thanks.”
  17. Rest of the Pac 12 better get a move on it.
  18. I’d love to be in a room while watching you and @Warren Central Warriorspar…
  19. Oregon and Washington have also applied…
  20. He’s already been outspoken regarding his lack of confidence in the Fort.
  21. Since the two LA schools actually reached out to the Big Ten and not the other way around, will a strongly worded letter be forthcoming from the PAC 12 accusing USC and UCLA of bigotry? Asking for a friend…
  22. You gotta remember to be quiet until November. Same shit different year.
  23. Isn’t he Manti Teo’s girlfriend? @Bobref? @Irishman?
  24. Discuss. https://247sports.com/college/ucla/Article/REPORT-UCLA-and-USC-Could-Leave-for-Big-Ten-As-Early-as-2024-189450203/Amp/
