  1. But should a school with the resources and enrollment of Ben Davis EVER BE an underdog in the first place?
  2. What’s your definition of “ contending?” There are 32 teams in 6A, is being in the top 8 (25%) “contending?” “But they’ve won their sectional!!!!!” - @BDGiant93
  3. Agree again, but the immediate dismissal of CG by some and even the term “rebuild” being used is laughable. A step back? Hell yes. But still good enough to win the whole damn thing.
  4. Numbers have already been calculated. I have a guy.
  5. Might wanna check again. Michigan has clinched 3rd. Texas/Stanford are 1-2 and still alive in baseball. Also, LOL at the “undergrad enrollment” card. The school that has dominated these standings annually has well under 20k undergrads.
  6. Who are they behind? (Hint: a school that made the college football playoff, the sweet 16 in men’s and women’s basketball, the frozen four, the men’s baseball NCAA tournament and women’s softball tournament.)
  7. Didn’t both HSE and Fishers replace head coaches just prior to the pandemic or am I mistaken? I’d also like to challenge your last statement (though it’s not an exact science) as Fishers finished third in the boys track conference meet and was the second highest finishing HCC school at the boys track and field state finals. They finished in the top half of the conference in the 4x1 and won the 4x4. Is there a disconnect between track and football at Fishers?
  8. I can get on board with this. Next discussion question: Is Fishers a step behind HSE? If so, why?
  9. This is exactly how I see it but playing devil’s advocate for a moment…what has HSE done to elevate themselves into this conversation in your opinion?
  10. What separates those teams from BD and Brownsburg in your opinion?
  11. An invisible fence. Trained my hound dog on one in 2 days…
  12. “Mike Davis led the Hoosiers to the national championship GAME a year after Bob Knight was fired.” Just wanted to make sure we are being historically accurate here, lol. Next question: Is the OC, DC and strength and conditioning coach all leaving Warren in a three month span telling or a coincidence?
  13. So many people in today me society speak in hyperbole and every issue “is all or nothing.” Just stop already. No one is saying the program is dead and is going to go 2-7 this fall. What is being said (for a variety of reasons) is that the Warren football program that is known around the state/Midwest is not what it once was. They are still MORE THAN CAPABLE of competing for the 6A title. My opinion is that it’s a steeper climb than most realize and I’ve outlined my reasons why.
  14. Eh, the departures (from both an athlete and a coaching point of view) don’t exactly paint a rosy picture. Kirschner is proven so he gets the benefit of the doubt from me but I fear his best coaching days are behind him. Still good enough to get the job done, no doubt but there is much more necessary to win a state title. Question for the group, and I don’t have the answer)… Kirschner left Mount Vernon and they won the state title THE VERY NEXT SEASON. Telling or coincidence? He definitely gets credit for building the Marauders to that level but the next guy finished the job. Am I overthinking this one?
  15. Warren had a kid transfer to Cathedral and another transfer to New Pal…both have next level offers. Telling or just a coincidence!
  16. The Warren WR is the real deal and is ranked 18th in the state according to 247.
  17. I’m not sure I’d go this far and say they don’t have a shot due to the enrollment mentioned and Kirschner’s abilities, The statement regarding their sectional, while not their fault, is 100 percent accurate. I said the same thing when BD’s sectional lineup was similar. Warren’s JV could roll through it. They DO have THREE defending state champions on the schedule for this fall (CG, King, Christian Brothers) so it appears they are at least trying to bolster up their schedule. I cannot see them going any better than 1-2 in those games. CG may be still figuring things out so that one may be their best shot. King will undoubtedly have the best player on the field at the most important position and is loaded with D1/Power 5 guys and I don’t know enough about Christian Brothers (though they do have SEVEN seniors in Missouri’s top 50 players according to 247).
  18. TO New Pal…think you’d ever see it? We are agreeing too much again. Will you just insult me quickly so I’m comfortable?
  19. In fact, your squad just nabbed a free agent from Warren… Another to New Pal…
  20. Sounds like a crowded room to me.
  21. They ran and hid when they constructed the “strongly worded letter” painting CG and Carmel as the bad guys. Once again, those schools need Carmel and CG much more than the other way around, especially from a competitive standpoint. How can you sell your student athletes that your programs are preparing for the state tournament when you don’t even play the best in your area during the regular season? The “MIC 6” are already irrelevant in over a dozen sanctioned IHSAA sports and that number will continue to grow as this decade continues. By 2030, the current MIC 6 schools (save for North Central in a few sports and BD/WC football) will be the equivalent of the current IPS athletic programs.
