While Montana's era may not have catered to quarterbacks as much as today's era and the rule changes as it relates to what defensive backs can do favored the guys of today, you cannot deny that guys are simply bigger, faster and stronger than they were 30-40 years ago. We’ve seen what’s on the menu, now what do you foresee on the field in Tampa today? I posted a few weeks back that the blueprint to beat Kansas City is: 1. Limit their offense to fewer than 10 possessions by controlling the clock with your running game. 2. Score TDs every time you get in the red zone. 3. Force at least 1 turnover and score off of it. 4. Have a little bit of luck. 5. Hold them to field goals whenever possible. That being said, Tampa has feasted off of turnovers so far this postseason but Mahomes is just too damn good. Gimme Chiefs 34-23.

I definitely agree but as stated, I may be giving them too much credit with that prediction. They get 2-3 weeks off per fall in the DAC. Not too many gimmes on the schedule in the HCC. Westfield and Brownsburg did/would have rolled the Pirates. Zionsville would give them a hell of a game and possibly be favored and then they'd have to not slip up against the other five schools.

Define “competed in the HCC” for us all please. Merrillville got a chance to prove its worth in the semi state and failed Merrillville’s ceiling would have probably been 3rd in the HCC last year and I think that may be generous.

I think what he is trying to say (and I could be wrong) is that folks (whomever that may be in his mind) in central Indiana have a shorter leash when it comes to losing coaches/programs. What he really SHOULD be saying is that Noblesville has such a steep hill to climb that they could improve and few would notice and they would still finish in the bottom half of the HCC, therefore we need to give the new coaching staff time. Pre Sharpe: Blown out by all Year 1-2 of Sharpe: lose competitively Year 3 of Sharpe: upset a couple teams you shouldn’t Years 4+: compete with the top of the conference My opinion solely. I don’t think you can fairly asses a coaching staff in less than 4 years at the high school level.
