  1. Maybe. But it’s deeper than that.
  2. For every Center Grove there is a Southport, Perry Meridian, Arsenal Tech and Lake Central. Imagine asking an FCS team to play 9 FBS schools annually. That’s akin to what the four schools above are being asked to do.
  3. Both statements can be true at the same time Bobby.
  4. Well, BD also boasts a 2/1 advantage in numbers over the bottom 6A schools and two of their worst teams in recent memory rolled to sectional/regional titles over Southport, Perry Meridian, and Zionsville (2019). Probably just superior coaching though, right? Do I need to cite Penn’s dominance of the last two decades also? Simply put: Numbers matter...A LOT
  5. But then wouldn’t you have to cave and do it for every class?
  6. Way to attempt to cite one isolated example to make your point...well done. You cited an exception. Not the norm. 6A “powerhouse” CHESTERTON (20 wins in the last 5 years against a Pioneer program (60 wins in that same time frame) that is experiencing success like never before. We are talking 6A solely here Robert. Try to keep up.
  7. You know just as well as I do that geography plays a big role in who plays in the state championship in the current format.
  8. Can you provide evidence/data that we’ve “survived?” Are you in those locker rooms? Look, when a team can roll fresh bodies in and out of a contest and not be forced to play starters/those in the two deep on special teams, it’s a huge advantage. Just because we have “survived” thus far doesn’t mean we should wait for an incident to happen before addressing potential changes. Color me surprised.
  9. Maybe in the first year, but not for long. Urban sprawl is real.
  10. Eh, I think asking a school of 2400 to play against a school of 5200 is dangerous. That’s an issue.
  11. Nah, you keep them in 7A. It’s not about “stopping” those four, more so about giving the teams at the bottom of 6A in terms of enrollment a fair opportunity. A 2/1 enrollment advantage in a sport like football is simply a numbers game...it’s not a fair fight. So 16 making a class makes you feel uncomfortable but giving 1/3 of a 24 team field a bye based on a random method doesn’t? Interesting.
  12. I like it but with 24 you have to determine scenarios for byes. How would you do that? Why not 16?
  13. Did you misunderstand the question?
  14. “The Harbaugh rule.” Guy gets so much crap but he got the thing into the NCAA’s hands and off the ground.
  15. It is pretty damn boring, but I’m not sure I have a solution. @DThas provides some in the past.
  16. Did I see CG picked up a DL from a fellow suburban school? He have any offers?
  17. Coaching youth sports in 2021: God’s work
  18. I mean, I even gave the guy a compliment sandwich. Three good things, one thing to work on.
  19. NEVER. IN. DOUBT. Those who’ve watched Carmel closely all season knew it. The game that evening wasn’t either. Carmel just finds a way.
  20. It’s a butter knife. Easy snowflake.
  21. Eh, not in basketball where you only need 5. I will say, it must be discouraging to have the two best players on the floor and still get beat.
