  1. I’ve never seen seven games of success go to a fanbase’s head so quickly. The Hoosiers have beaten no one significance in terms of 2020. They probably deserve better but, trust me, Ole Miss’s offense will put up their fair share of points. Easily the second best offense IU has seen all year. The O/U is sitting at 69.5, second highest of any bowl game.
  2. Had to. No other explanation. (Unless the Big 10 brass were too busy pandering to Ohio states demands to advocate for another NY6 team in the conference.) Are you taking Indiana on a neutral field against any of the other NY6 teams without Pennix?
  3. “I believe you forgot that Notre Dame also beat Clemson’s JV on November 7th.”
  4. “Boast he beat a playoff team by 4 scores.” lol.
  5. Always has a way with words and an ulterior motive. Notre Dame being in elevates his team’s resume because now he can both be a fellow playoff team by four scores. That being said. They are in. Congrats Irish faithful. You’ve gained a fan for one more game.
  6. Have they released those matchups? Do you have inside info?
  7. Eh, Iowa State got their “bad losses” out of the way early. I am convinced that Florida did not plummet simply to maintain interest in the SEC title game. This isn’t still about Indiana is it?
  8. Have a great Knight.
  9. “Should” be in: 1. Bama 2. Clemson 3. OSU 4. Cincinnati
  10. Dog, I have agreed with you from DAY ONE that based on principle, ND should be in. We are in full agreement on that. You are confusing the two. The narrative is now being pushed that Notre Dame HAD its chance and that A&M is the “hot team” and deserves its “revenge opportunity.” I am not saying I agree but I told you this before kickoff yesterday. I agree that OSU will likely suffer the same fate as ND but they haven’t had the chance to prove otherwise, whereas ND did.
  11. I see your argument here dude but you’ve got to let it go. Based on what you saw last night, do you really want to see ND take a 30 point beat down at the hands of Alabama? Venables had Rees guessing all night. It was men against boys. Bama will do the same. If I’m an ND fan, I take my NY6 bowl game, in which I should be favored and continue to sell a positive trajectory to recruits after a big bowl win. As for OSU, Day didn’t remember he had a running game that was averaging 7 yards per carry until the second half. His pass first mentality blinded him to the fact that the winning game plan was pretty simple. I’m betting he was overconfident and was seeking style points early, and then it just became about winning the game in the second half. They nearly covered the spread despite sleep walking through two-thirds of the game on offense and missing 22 players. They may be a notch below Clemson and Bama but they are the closest competitor.
  12. And recruiting/academic standards. The practices that take place in the southeast are well known yet the spineless NCAA slaps the elites on the wrist.
  13. I know this will come across as sour grapes but everyone is not playing by the same rules here folks. I felt bad for the Northwestern and Notre Dame student athletes yesterday. How else can you explain Nick Saban winning at a 59 percent clip in his tenure at Michigan State and an 84 percent clip at LSU/Bama?
  14. The NCAA caters to the elite and the rules are written in pencil. That was proven once again this month. Some universities are no longer even trying to hide the fact that they are football factories first and student athletes second. Hell, LSU’s title from 11 months ago is already tainted. They’ll pretend they are doing something about it by punishing themselves and the spineless powers that be will buy it. The rewards simply outweigh the risk.
  15. And in college football WHEN you lose supersedes all.
  16. Yep, and it works. ND still needs to hold its head high. They, along with Northwestern, are prestigious top 10 universities that simply ran into football factories who are posing as universities. The gap from the top three to everyone else is humongous. With the early signing day in the rear view mirror, let’s take a look. Number of 5 stars on the active roster: Ohio State - 14 Alabama - 12 Clemson - 11 Notre Dame - 2 Stars aren’t everything, but in this case they don’t lie.
  17. Irish need to beg Dabo to start taking a knee and punting on third down.
  18. Seconded. Always have had great interactions with Moore...one of if not THE lowest paid coach in the MIC, with one of the most rigorous daily schedules despite having the most years of experience in the conference.
  19. I’m going to take the opposing view. Bret is just a retread. His Big Ten roots do speak for themselves but I think Illinois should have gone with a young up and comer. I think they have been suckered into thinking that they can recreate something of the magic their next door neighbors, Indiana, did in 2020. I think the Hoosiers’ success in 2020 is an anomaly. Though it seems to an easier climb to the top in the Big Ten West.
  20. ESPN starting the SEC hype machine before the ND/Clemson game has even kicked off... ”Texas A&M stays in playoff hunt with rout of Tennessee.” The final was 34-13 and the game was in doubt early in the 4th quarter, lol.
  21. I responded specifically to @StatQueen’s notion that Steele was the best player on the best team and then gave two supporting pieces of evidence as to why that’s not true. Great kid, deserving of the award and (based on the finalists) would have also gotten my vote. (I went on record stating McCahill would’ve gotten my vote.). Wanna bet Weems goes for at least 1500 yards next year?
  22. Once again, I am not taking anything away and the award is well deserved. Just don’t give me the “best player on the best team“ argument as the reason why. ”Do better” at understanding context.
  23. When Steele left the game, his backup still averaged over 5 yards per carry. I rest my case.
  24. Booker/Curry/Jackson/DeGraaf/Schott > Steele...every recruiting service in America agrees. Nothing for me to “get over”. Kid is deserving but facts are facts. He won because he had the “best offensive stats for the best team.” Don’t get it twisted. And he shouldn’t have to apologize for it.
  25. Best SENIOR offensive player on the best team. Fixed it for you once again. Not here to continue the debate. Kudos to the kid.
